Omg is that me not taking months *cough* years *cough* to write someone's suggestion?

But I had a fun time writing this one! So thanks @idkwichname for suggesting:

"I was wondering if you could do an one shot about dick being overwhelmed with his feelings and Wally helping him(you don't have to if you don't want)"

Quick Note:
A "tic" is a spurt of emotion that emotionless Dick can have randomly. They're typically things like a quick smile or being startled. Tics are quick and can last from a few seconds to about a minute or 2

An "episode" is similar but longer. They also typically involve more than one emotion. Episodes can last from a few minutes to a good number of hours.

TW: Anxiety Attack (let me know if there's anything else I should add)

ALRIGHT STORY TIME BBY!

Dick definitely felt the bone of the man's nose crunch behind his fist. The man not getting up afterwards was sign enough that the hit had been to hard.

"Dude!" Dick looked over to Wally, his jaw still clenched. "That was pretty harsh?! He hadn't even done anything serious yet."

"Move on." His tone was too sharp, didn't sound like him.

Wally ran over to him. "Was it a tic?"

"No." His fist, Dick realized, we're still clenched and shaking. Taking a deep breathe, he uncurled them, though his hands still shook.

Grabbing his wrist, Wally lead him towards the woods surrounding the area. Dick hoped he couldn't feel him shaking, or hear how hard he was breathing. If Wally would just leave him alone this would go away quicker, or he could at least ignore it.

Deeming the area good enough, Wally stopped. He turned towards him and stared at him. Dick had to force down the scowl that wanted to contort his face.

"Breathe, Rob." Wally said, putting a gloved hand on his shoulder.

Forcing the words through his teeth, "I am breathing." He said.

"Well let's try breathing slower, alright?" Wally voice was still calm, he was still staring directly at him.

"Stop staring at me!" Dick shrugged his shoulder roughly, Wally still held on firm but not painful.

Looking over Dick's shoulder, Wally kept his voice even. "I'm sorry. Can you try and match my breathing?"

Before Dick could respond Wally was already dragging in an exaggerated breath, looking down Dick copied.

He felt Wally look back at him before he said to hold it. Wally had barely counted to two before Dick breathed out harshly.

"Alright that okay we can try again—"

"You're not trying anything! You're just trying to drag this out!" He knew the scowl had formed on his face but at this point he didn't care. Still staring at ground he saw his clenched fists shaking.

"Rob, you've gotta breathe for me."

"No!" He snapped. "No! No! This was a tic! But now it's not ending, Kid!" He could feel more than his fist shaking, his words getting more choked as his throat clogged.

Wally dropped the hand on his shoulder and grabbed one of his fists. Uncurling it he pressed it flat on his chest, letting Dick feel his heartbeat. Despite how fast it was, Dick could tell Wally was still calm.

"I know. It's spiraling into an episode but that's ok. I'm right here to help you." Dick looked up, Wally was staring at him again. It made something twist and snap inside his chest and burn behind his eyes.

Dick swallowed roughly, nodding.

Wally smiled at him, keeping his voice soft. "Ok." He moved so they were both sat on the ground, Dick's hand still pressed to his chest.

"Do you know what you're feeling right now?"

Dick paused, trying to focus. "I'm," He took a long breathe, held it, then let it out shakily. "I'm panicking."

Wally nodded, tapping a rhythm onto his wrist.

"I think, uh, I think I'm sad." Dick said, slowly matching his breathing to Wally's tapping. "And I was angry, but I'm less angry now."

"Ok, that's good." Wally smiled again and the piece that had broke in his chest felt like it was starting to piece together. "Think we can try breathing again?"

Dick nodded. Matching the slow rise and fall of Wally's chest to his own. They continued until it didn't feel like his lungs had shrunk three sizes.

With his hand still on Wally's chest, Dick finally exhaled steadily. "Ok." He said. "Thank you."

"No problem." They stood up, Dick moved his hand to hold Wally's wrist and swung their arms back and forth lightly as they walked. "We can go and watch a movie in the mountain if you want? Make a quick blanket fort and watch something stupid."

"Alright." Dick didn't fight the smile that made its way onto his face. "I want cereal, though."

"Is this a thing? Post-Episode Cereal?" Dick could hear the kind-hearted laughter Wally was holding back. "Because I swear during every episode you want cereal. You literally never eat cereal—"

"It's the only time I like the way it taste. It seems so unnecessary when I'm not eating it for enjoyment."

"It's a good thing I brought lucky charms to the mountain then."

The thing in his chest clicked, setting together perfectly. "Yes."

Wally bursted out laughing, Dick knew it was from the absurd amount of joy he had put into the word.

Reaching a Zeta-Tube Wally stopped them. "I'll write the report if you make the fort?"

"I will eat all the marshmallows out of the box if you don't hurry up."

Wally winked, "It's a good thing I can do it in a Flash."

He shoved Wally's shoulders and didn't hold back his laugh. "Just go."

Stepping through the Zeta-Tube, Dick got to work with what time he had left.

Later
Wally: Oh shoot did we leave that guy—
Dick: Hush, Wallace, the movie is on.

Don't forget to ask questions and leave suggestions!
