Lillie's POV

"Great, the sun is setting," I sigh. "More cold."

"Aren't you a little happy to not be melting in the sun for once?" Ash asks. "Because I don't mind a little cooler than usual temperature."

"That's what air conditioning is for," I laugh. "Way better than random blizzards."

"Have you ever been to another region?" Ash asks while we walk through the entrance to MeleMele Meadow.

"Never," I answer. "My Mom has always been too busy with work to take us anywhere out of Alola. And because we're so lucky to be wealthy, our everyday life can be a vacation with no travel required."

"There's still so much for you to see out there," Ash states with his serious thinking face. Then he smiles wide, "I guess we're going to have to do a lot of travelling together."

"You're the perfect boyfriend," I smile and bury my head in the crook of his neck.

"I'm not perfect," Ash sweat drops.

"Maybe not," I giggle. "But your perfect for me."

He wraps his arm around me like usual while we enjoy our peaceful walk through the meadow. The yellow, fully blooming flowers cover the Earth like grass. A small bare path extends out a bit into the flower field and a tall cliff cuts off the small meadow.

It's the perfect moment, just Ash and I, along with our Pokémon of course. Walking through a beautiful meadow at sunset and only the sight and each other's company to enjoy. The smell too since the flowers have a nice fragrance that surrounds them.

Suddenly a chilly gust of wind blows through the meadow from the direction of the cliff. Moment ruined much...

"I almost forgot we have to stop some unknown somethings to solve yet another problem," I sigh. "I swear Alola was the most peaceful place in the world before you showed up."

"I've been told I have that kind of effect on wherever I travel," Ash chuckles. "All because of a prophecy that's literally set in stone."

"Prophecy?" I question.

"Something about me being the chosen one I think, whatever that means," Ash shrugs. "The prophecy says, 'The world shall turn to Ash', which is what makes me the chosen one. Everybody thought it meant that the world was going to burn to ashes since a bunch of legendary Pokémon were enraged. It took a giant pink, shell wearing Pokémon to explain it though."

"What?" I giggle.

"Sloking," Ash chuckles. "Just another world-saving day in my life."

"Just one of those days," I giggle. "So you're literally meant to save the world."

"Don't make it a big deal," Ash sweat drops from me basically awing over him.

"It kinda is," I say. "But I'll stop pestering you about it... for now."

"Good," Ash chuckles. "Because we reached the end of the path."

"Nurse Joy said something about the entrance being a hidden passageway in the cliff," I recount.

"There's one right there!" Ash exclaims while pointing at a crack in the rock.

"Ash," I sigh. "Look again."

He raises an eyebrow before turning back towards the cliff in front of us. "Great," He says sarcastically.

The crack Ash pointed out isn't the only one there. About a dozen litter the surface of the rock. Darkness hiding what lies through the entrance. "First one to find the right one...umm.... I will use in the first round of the Alola League!" Ash yells.

The Pokémon's ears perk up instantly and they run off into the flowers and towards the cliff. "Absol might want in on this," Ash says and let's him out.

"You heard right?" Ash asks him and he nods. I shouldn't be surprised that he laid down and closed his eyes for a little nap.

"Not the same excitement as the others," I giggle.

"Gengar sure is having fun," Ash laughs at the prank loving Pokémon's antics.

The ghost and poison type moves from crack to crack, scaring whoever is making their way out. Each time ending with his signature creepy laugh. And because he's smaller than an average Gengar, flying through the small tunnel systems is no problem.

Allowing him to fly fast, sneak up and sc-, "Vull!" And scare other Pokémon while being easily hidden in the darkness. Snowy comes running out of a crack with Gengar laughing hysterically behind her. The ice fox Pokémon jumps into my arms while whimpering and shivering. Now even the ice type is shivering.

"It's okay," I say softly. "That's just Gengar's personality."

"Gengar how about you use your skills for finding a confusingly hard to get to bay instead of scaring the daylights out of people," Ash suggests while laughing with the Pokémon. "Save your tricks until Halloween."

"Geng," He sighs and flies over towards us. His two purple arms wrap around Snowy and places her on his back.

"Vul!" She cheers and they go flying towards another passageway.

"Are we wrong to be letting our Pokémon do all the work in finding the cave system?" I question.

"Unless you wanna battle in the first round," Ash chuckles.

"Who says I can't?" I wink.

"The rules," Ash laughs. "Actually I don't know if there is a rule that stops people from battling themselves."

"We're pretty good at being different," I joke. "Maybe we can continue our streak."

"Your attract and charm attacks are pretty good," Ash winks.

"I like to save those for you," I wink back.

"And I thought my oblivious ability could stop those from working," Ash jokes. "But they were too strong."

"Such a sweet Ashy-boy," I giggle.

He blushes and looks around for a change in topic. "I really want to use Absol in the first round but he doesn't seem so interested in finding the way to our next problem to solve."

The Pokémon of topic grunts in disagreement but still doesn't make an effort to move. I stare at the newest addition of the team curiously, wondering what could be going through his head right now.

"His horn is up," I point out. Absol horns usually curve up with the shape of their forehead. But his is away from his head more, acting like a receptor if something like wave. Or maybe wind in this case...

Another brisk gust of wind comes through and Absol's eyes shoot open. He gets up and walks toward the cliff, inspecting each hole without going in. "Sol," He motions his head towards one right above the ground.

"Let's go guys!" Ash yells and our Pokémon make their way over. We follow him slowly and cautiously though the dim cave. The little sunlight left is enough for us to see in front of us thankfully.

"Look there's frost forming on the walls," I observe the crack-looking ice spreads across the stone.

"Good job Absol," Ash smiles and gets a smirk from the Pokémon. "You and Charizard will get along."

"Or bash heads over who's a better battler," I say. "Not our problem if we stay on the road."

"True," Ash laughs. "Blobby said he can handle any conflict."

"W-," I stop after a huge gust of snow, ice and really cold wind comes through. I hug myself trying to preserve body heat. "It's not stopping!"

Ash pulls me down and wraps his other arm around me. Taking the full force of the wind to his back. His open jacket flaps furiously in the wind while our Pokémon try to hold their ground. The wind dies down, allowing us to get up off of the now icy ground.

"Return, everyone just in case," Ash says and one by one brings the Pokémon into their Pokeballs. Absol however shakes his head before Ash could return him. His raven haired trainer smiles and leaves him out in front.

I can feel myself still shivering and I think Ash notices too. "You can go back if you want," Ash says with worry in his face.

"I'll be fine," I try to smile back. "Let's just keep moving forward."

"Stay behind me so I'll take most of the wind then," Ash smiles and grabs my hand tightly. Then he leans forward and kisses me on the forehead. "Maybe that'll keep you warm."

I should be blushing right now but my body is so cold it isn't happening. All I manage to do is nod and follow the two out of the cave. Here we go...

The moon is just getting above the lake horizon, leaving a white moonlit path across what should be water. Except it has ice spots all around it. Most are flat and mainly circular with jagged edges. It's like an ice filled blizzard out here.

Gusts of wind swirl up taking fallen snow and sand with them. Some of the ice and snow is already melting a bit despite the cold temperature. Especially the ice patches in the water due to water being able to retain heat for a longer time than land.

I put my arm in front of eyes to block and ice going for my eyes. But I'm also trying to see what could be causing such an activity. My bag shakes unexpectedly causing my attention to shift down. I open the flap slowly...

"Ash what Pokémon is this?" I question with so much confusion.

He looks over and his eyes fly open. "It's a-."

Kukui's POV

"Feel free to get off your computer and spend time with your wife," Professor Burnet jokes and pulls up another chair to my desk.

"Sorry honey," I sigh. "I'm trying to keep track of this storm but now this weird blizzard thing popped up on MeleMele Island."

"Maybe Ash is training his ice types," She shrugs.

"Look," I point to the video footage from the Pokémon Center by MeleMele Meadow. "You can't see much but look how the ice and snow is swirling high into the sky."

"It's got to be a Pokémon," She states. "Because most people won't take the time to find the way into Kala'e Bay. I remember trying to get there for a research project. It took me and Munchlax a whole day before finding the right tunnel."

"Let's hope nature figures this one out by itself," I sigh. "Because I think the kids are tired of solving problems."

"I'm not sure," Burnet giggles. "They're always eager to help, even though I don't know how much they can do against whatever that is. Or the storm that's coming."

"They usually find a way," I chuckle.

"What is the status on the storm though?" She asks.

"The weather station's radars are seeing it as a typical tropical storm but on a larger scale than normal," I inform her. "Lots of wind and rain, nothing Alola isn't prepared for but enough to postpone the league if it comes fast enough."

"Let's just hope it doesn't make it before we crown Ash the first ever Alola Champion," My wife says.

"Don't jinx him," I warn and she places her hand over her beautiful smile. "It's getting late, no one should be doing work at this time of night."

"Agreed," She says and we walk towards our bedroom.

I take one last look out the window of our hotel room near the top of the New Tapu Village tower. "Two more days," I mumble.

Lillie's POV

Despite the situation I can't ignore that the Pokémon is so cute. Her small ice cream cone shaped body nests perfectly in my bag. Her light blue crystal body holds her ice cream swirl-like head. Finished with her adorable eyes.

"That's it! The Pokémon you have in your bag is a Vanillite. That Pokémon up there is a Vanilluxe I think so maybe it's looking for her." Ash shouts and looks up towards where the blizzard seems to be swirling around the most. I can now see a silhouette of another ice cream cone looking Pokémon but there's more than one cone.

Ash's shout seems to have gotten the Pokémon's attention because the dark figure is making its way closer. I can now see the double cone Pokémon more clearly. It's like Vanillite but taller and has its own personal snow cloud above it.

An icy orb appears at his mouth, clearly not in a happy mood. I hold my bag up so he can see and his face softens immediately. The blizzard dies down at the same time. How can something so powerful end so abruptly?

Vanillite flies up towards assumingely her dad. I expected a happy reunion but that's not what happened. The smaller ice type starts screaming at the bigger one who looks both shocked and a little hurt.

"What's going on?" Ash asks confusingly.

"Maybe he's being too overprotective," I shrug while watching the two argue.

"Vanillite," She cheers and flies around my head.

"So it's like this girl Bianca and her father," Ash realizes. "He was stopping her from journeying out into the world and discovering what she could be."

Vanillite cheers again and flies around Ash. "You caused a lot of panic," I scorn Vanilluxe. "Sometimes you just need to let your kids figure out things for themselves. Even if that means some danger and trouble could be a part of it."

"Luxe," He bows his head.

"Lite, van nil van lite," She consoles her father who looks into my eyes once she finishes. He nods with smile and Vanillite cheers yet again.

She zips right into my bag, smiling happily while looking up at me. "Are you going to join us then?" I giggle.

She nods enthusiastically before closing her eyes. "Good night then," I smile.

"You'll be a great mother," Ash says and we leave back towards the Pokémon Center.
