The girls walked out of the armor room with guards uniforms on, both of them had their hair in half up half down hair like other female guards.

"These disguises should work," Katara adjusted her helmet as azula flipped her hair over her shoulder.

"I'm so glad we changed the uniforms," Azula looked down at her clothes.

"We just need to lay low and wait for Zuko to arrive, then we get out," she told the water bender with a nod.
They heard footsteps down the hall and suddenly saw a group of guards running down to the outside area.

"Guards, there's a scuffle in the yard, let's go!" A man yelled down at them and they cooperated to follow the others outside.

The guards shoved their way through the circle of prisoners with a single guard and a tall man in the center as the guards circled themselves around them instead.

"I didn't do anything, I'm going back to my cell," a tall buff man snarled at the guard. The guard bended a fire whip and snapped it to stop the prisoner from walking away.

"Stop right there chit sang," the guard commanded.

Katara narrowed her eyes at the man and stepped forward but Azula grabbed her wrist to hold her back. They made eye contact and she knew better than to immediately blow their cover.

"I had it with your unruly behavior," the guard scoffed with a smirk.

"What did I do?" Chit sang looked back at him confused.

"He wants to know what he did, isn't that cute?" The guard smirked looking up and down at the two girls next to him.

"Uh super cute, sir," Katara gulped surprised.

"You didn't bow down when I walked by," the guard walked around the prisoner.

"What? That's not a rule," chit sang made a face with disgust in his eyes.

"Do it,"

"No,"

The guard looked at him with a glare but saw he wasn't gonna budge, he shrugged walking away with a smirk. But instead he swung around and whipped a long lash of fire at the prisoner. Chit sang spun around and blocked the fire then sent it back to the guard.

"Fire bending is prohibited, your going in the cooler," the guard smirked at his victory when chit sang stood with a glare.

"You, help me take him in!" The man pointed at Azula. She frowned but followed the pathetic order.

"Meet me back here in an hour," she hissed back to Katara as they parted ways, Azula jogged over to follow her roll of a guard.

Katara walked backwards as she kept her guard up and glanced around hoping to be left alone until Azula got back, she couldn't cause trouble.

"That guards always been a power hungry pig," a girl scoffed behind Katara as azula already disappeared inside.

She turned around and was surprised to see a familiar face.

"Suki?" Katara gasped softly as the red head walked away but paused at her name.

"Thank the spirits, I knew you were familiar," Suki smirked looking at katara.

"Not many guards here have blue eyes," she smiled a little as Katara hid her smile as they both walked off when everyone went back to minding their business.

"Why are you here?" They both asked as soon as they were out of sight.

"Me and the kyoshi warriors were captured, I was taken here because I'm the leader," Suki explained to her quietly as Katara looked around the court yard with her back to Suki. The red head leaned against the wall near her with her head down.

"So your the only one here?" Katara asked making sure.

"Yea, I have no idea where my girls are at," Suki sighed frowning.

"Who captured you?" Katara asked again confused, last time she saw her she was helping in ba sing si.

"That bitch of the fire nation, Azula I think, her two friends were with her," Suki explained still bitter in her voice.

"That makes more sense," Katara admitted.

"So how'd you get in here? Who's with you?" Suki now asked glancing over at her.

"Uh.. the bitch of the fire nation?" Katara bit her lip.

"Your kidding..."

"Yea we have a lot to catch up on,"

Katara pursed her lips and looked around seeing other guards were chatting with each other.

Katara suddenly grabbed Suki by the arm and slammed her against the wall as Suki gasped surprised.

"I'm taking you to your cell, we will not tolerate this behavior!" Katara said loudly for the guards to hear.

"You need help? That ones a ruthless one," a male guard walked over as she cuffed sukis hands behind her back.

"I got it, since when did we let the prisoners have attitude? So ridiculous ," Katara scoffed as she lead Suki with her, the red head glared but she knew the reason so she growled and walked with her to keep up the act.

They went inside as they stayed silent and Suki kept her head down till she lead Katara to her cell on the second floor, Katara shoved her in and closed the door behind her before anyone saw.

"Sorry, it's a lot I gotta tell you," Katara smiled back at her taking her helmet off and Suki sat on the bed and slid her arms under her so the cuffs were in front of her.

"Yea, what the hell do you mean Azula is with you? Here?" Suki looked at her confused as Katara smiled awkwardly unlocking her cuffs.

"Well Azula and Zuko, not actual bad guys?" She squealed a little as Suki seemed unamused and arms crossed.

——

"The warden will deal with you soon," the guard shoved chit sang in a small compartment where the walls had frost and it sent a chill down azulas spine as she was able to feel how cold it was from the outside. She closed the first door and slid the second one shut as the two stood outside as watch.

"Can you believe this guy?" The guard scoffed as he leaned against the wall.

"They're all the same to me," Azula frowned putting her hands on her hips.

"Eh, tell me about it," he agreed.

"Can the new girl ask you something?" She glanced over at him as they both leaned against the wall.

"Unfortunately you cant date other guards," the man smirked at her, Azula kept her glare.

"Not my type," she said flatly.

"What's on your mind then?" He chuckled a little at her.

"The boiling rock holds the most dangerous criminals right?" Azula asked and he nodded.

"What do you know about war prisoners?" She looked at him seriously and the guard glanced back confused.

"Which kind? We have a couple new ones coming in a few days, had one yesterday morning," he told her with a shrug.

"Already? Wow they move fast," Azula tried acting surprised as she rolled her eyes. "What did we get?"

"I know some traitors and from the war yesterday came in, a few murderers, I think a pirate even, that blue spirit bastard, the next bundle coming in is some war prisoners, I'm gonna be pissed if it's more benders though," the man nodded and he rested his head back against the wall.

They stayed silent for a while as azula bounced her leg a little thinking that next one in a few days must have Zuko on it. Hopefully they could last the few days without getting caught.

"It's the warden, look alive," the man looked down the hall and they both straightened up when two guards and a tall buffer man walked down to them. Azula watched the man as a guard opened the cooler.

"So chit sang, I hear you used fire bending to try to escape, you should know better," the warden looked down at the prisoner.

Mai's uncle. She knew he looked familiar but she recognized his voice immediately, she almost forgot how involved mai's family was in the fire nation rather than just a few leaders.

"I wasn't t-trying to escape," chit sang shivered.

"He's lying!" The other guard spat.

"No one has ever ever escaped from here, I'd sooner jump into the boiling lake myself than let that record fall, don't forget it," the warden said in a calm but cold tone as he narrowed his eyes down at the man like he was nothing more than dirt.

"Now go back to your shivering," he said walking out. Azula remembered why she liked mai's uncle so much now.
