Piper woke up with a bleeding nose and a pounding headache. She squinted, trying to make out shapes in the darkness, before finally spotting three, vaguely human-shaped lumps lying on the rocky floor.

"Guys?" She croaked, wishing for a large Pepsi at the sound of her gutteral voice. "Anyone?" She tried again, a little louder, and this time one of the shapes stirred and sat up.

"Piper? Piper, is that you?" A male voice asked hesitantly into the gloom. The boy crawled forward slowly, and before long Piper saw a pair of bright sea-green eyes staring at her.

"Percy!" She grinned, sighing in relief. She leant forward and wrapped the sea god's son in a hug. He was warm, but his slight shoulders shivered uncontrollably. When Piper pulled away, she saw three tears running slowly down his face.

"Percy, what's wrong?" She asked quickly, shaking his shoulders. "Percy! "

The son of Poseidon was breathing fast, tears pouring down his face as he panted Annabeth's name over and over. His desperate cries turned to yells as he grasped his hair, pulling at the soft black strands with his knees drawn up to his chest.

"Annabeth, Annabeth, Annabeth!"

Suddenly, one of the other shapes moved and crawled over. "Percy?" Piper recognised Annabeth's voice, and saw Athena's daughter wrap her thin arms around Percy's chest while whispering sweet nothings into his ear. Finally, Percy calmed down, and his eyes closed as he lay his head on Annabeth's lap.

Annabeth looked up, seemingly noticing Piper for the first time. "He has claustrophobia," she told Piper. "And it probably didn't help that this place looks like... like-" neither of the girls wanted to finish.

Piper nodded. "What are we doing here?" She asked. "And who's that?" She pointed at the other person who was lying on the floor. Annabeth turned around quickly, placing Percy's head on her rucksack, and leant over the person.

"Leo," she reported. "I'll wake him up. Hold on." She shook him, and he stirred, narrowing his eyes until they adjusted to the darkness.

"Whaz... whaz goin' on?" He slurred, attempting to get up but wincing in pain.

"We've been kidnapped," Piper told her best friend quickly. "And... Leo, your leg!" Sure enough, his leg was twisted at an impossible angle, and his face was pale and beaded with sweat.

"Oh my gods! Do we have any-" Annabeth was interrupted by a loud, booming voice. The cavern shook, debris falling from the ceiling, as a gigantic figure appeared from nowhere.

"Well, demigods. Prepare to meet your death!"

Well, that was interesting! All of that came straight from my head, because I hate planning so I hope it's ok!
