"This war is getting more brutal for every passing second."

"Are those guys out there blue vampires?" Kaley asked with her face glued to the car window.

Camila's whole family was on its way to the L.A. International Airport. Tonight, their life in Los Angeles was going to stop and they were going to fly to Helena, Montana, toward the blue vampires' residence.

Camila's feelings were still so mixed up. She was ready to give up on her current lifestyle and embrace a new one, in the wildness of Montana forests. But on the other side, she couldn't say she wasn't worried about what was going to happen with the human race and her real life.

She looked out of the window and saw people standing at the entrance of the airport area. These guys looked like soldiers but she couldn't see sparkling, diamond blue eyes anywhere.

"No, these people are the U.S. Army," her father Oscar answered.

Camila saw Kaley's eyes getting wide open.

"Holy shit!" her cousin exclaimed. "U.S. Army?"

"It looks like they closed the entire airport area," Camila commented. "There's no way someone with the camera could pass through."

Kaley continued to stare through the window.

"Haven't you read the contract, Kaley?" Oscar asked. "It's written there that any kind of media influence on transfer process is forbidden. The Army secured the whole area."

Just as he finished that sentence, Camila saw one of the soldiers waving to them to stop the car.

Her father immediately did so and opened the window. The man leaned in a little.

"Surname?" he asked, his face completely serious. That made Camila swallow hard. She felt like he would arrest them at any moment.

"Reyes family. Four adults and one kid." Oscar replied.

A soldier then pulled out a bunch of papers and looked at them. Camila could see their pictures.

After a couple of moments, he asked them for their documents and her father gave them to him. He needed some time to go through everything, including the check of the car before they were finally allowed to enter the airport.

"Well, that was easy," Kaley said.

"Yeah. That's the only check we'll pass through," Camila said. "I read something about the government giving blue vampires the full freedom over this."

Kaley smirked to her.

"So, we basically could get drugs into the airport?" she asked.

Camila's eyes widened while her mother turned behind.

"Watch your language," she warned. "The last thing we need is someone to hear these nonsenses leaving your mouth. Or Luke could hear you and spill something like that out."

Kaley just waved her hand.

"Oh, relax, I was just joking."

Camila shook her head in disbelief but she didn't have time to say anything because they were at the very entrance of the main airport building.

"Dad, who's gonna take care of your car?" she asked Oscar.

Her father opened the door, getting ready to get out.

"It's going to be stored here, on the airport. Don't worry about those things now. Let's focus on getting on that plane, yeah?"

She nodded and then got out. Maria opened the trunk and they started to take the luggage out. Lucas stood aside, playing with his camera. Once he finally got his head around their leaving, the boy got so excited over this "trip". Camila recalled him constantly babbling about it for the past day.

As they took everything out, one of the airport employees approached, requesting the car keys. Oscar was looking at them for a few moments before finally giving them to the man so he could drive their car away.

Camila realized the time was important because there were other cars waiting, probably full of her fellow celebrity colleagues. She wondered who else was going to Montana with them? Truth to be told, in the last month, she felt so depressed so she didn't feel any need to contact any of her celebrity acquaintances. Not that she ever had any real friends among them. She did find a few of them tolerable but that was as far as she got.

"Holy hell!"

Kaley's cursing voice snapped her out of her state of thinking and she faced her cousin, who was looking at the entrance.

Camila followed her gaze and then saw a blonde woman, dressed in all black, approaching them. She had long, straight blonde hair and a beautiful face. Her lips were full and Camila almost could swear the woman was wearing red lipstick. Or, it was just the light which gave that impression. She wore something similar to the armor suit. As she approached closer, Camila saw it wasn't armor but more like a black polyester suit. She had a belt where were girded two guns. The woman's walk was firm and confident.

But the most important thing were the piercing blue eyes, glowing in the dark like diamonds.

Camila's breath hitched.

"Hello," the woman finally got in their close proximity. "You must be Reyes family."

Camila looked at every member of her family. All of them looked a little taken aback by her confident approach. Oscar seemed to be the first to compose himself enough to answer.

"Yes, we are," he replied. "This my wife Maria, my kids Lucas and Camila and my niece Kaley."

The woman vampire smiled a little, showing her perfect white teeth. Camila instantly looked for the fangs but they were nowhere to be seen. She looked at her and smirked a little as if she knew why she was looking at her like that.

"Camila Reyes," she called her name. "Pleasure to meet you. And you too, guys. My name is Electra. I'm the blue vampire warrior's trainee and my job for tonight is to get you through the airport to the plane."

Camila heard her saying something but she simply couldn't stop staring at her so beautiful eyes.

"Are you okay?" Electra asked her.

She felt Kaley hitting her in the ribs to gain her attention and she finally snapped out of her haze.

"Yes...yes, of course."

"Great," Electra answered, slapping her palms together. "If you don't have any additional questions, please follow me. Do you maybe need help with the luggage?"

Oscar raised his hand.

"Umm, miss?" he started, probably not knowing how to call the vampire.

She faced him and once again smiled.

"Electra is fine," she replied. "We have surnames but we don't use them in any occasions. Not even when we introduce ourselves. C'mon, give me that luggage. We must hurry. There's a lot of people left to get in. Amelia and Damien are already waiting inside of the plane. Follow me, please."

After her last statement, Camila paused, frozen in place. Kaley was in the same state.

"Amelia? Amelia is here?" Kaley vocalized exactly was Camila was thinking.

Electra faced them again.

"Yes. She is in charge of the whole project," she answered and then continued to walk.

Kaley hurried after Electra, probably trying to catch up with her. Her parents and Lucas followed them too. Camila was the only one still standing in place.

She knew Amelia's name very well. Well, every human being knew about the head of blue ones. But she couldn't believe that she actually came here to pick them up. Her guardian was here. And Camila would finally have a chance to see her in person. The very thought of it made her smile.

Then, she realized her parents left her behind and hurried after them. She managed to catch up with them just in time to see Kaley annoying Electra with her questions. Camila could only imagine what kind of answers Kaley wanted.

"So, what can we expect from her?" her cousin asked out loud. It was obvious how excited she was.

Electra seemed to be very calm and patient.

"You guys are lucky to have her as your guardian," the vampire replied. "She's the best warrior we have."

Kaley rolled her eyes.

"No, I meant what can we expect from her as a person?"

Camila honestly wanted to slap her. Sometimes, when she wanted, Kaley could be very annoying.

"Umm, I not sure how to answer that," Electra replied, passing through the checkup gate. They stopped a little to hand over their luggage so it could be prepared for the flight. It took them a while to do that and then they continued to walk.

"C'mon, tell me little more about her. I'm so curious and I'd love to know more."

Camila facepalmed herself as Electra laughed loudly, obviously realizing where Kaley was heading with this discussion.

"I'm so sorry about her," the singer spoke for the first time since they entered the building. "Sometimes, she can't contain herself."

Kaley shoved her with her elbow.

"It's okay. I'm kind of used to so much fuss over Amelia. It's happening a lot," the blonde said, still smiling.

"Do you think she would be open for a "friends with benefits" relationship?" Kaley asked again, her face totally serious.

Camila's eyes immediately widened.

"Kaley!" she yelled.

Electra laughed again.

"Actually, a guy I escorted to the plane before you guys came asked me if she would say yes to his marriage proposal. The one from that new Spiderman movie."

Camila snickered a little, while Kaley became deadly serious.

"No. Hell to the no," she replied. "She's mine."

The vampire opened the glass door and let them out on the fresh evening air. Camila was thankful for her parents walking too far behind them to hear all of these stupid things leaving Kaley's mouth.

She could see the plane in the distance. It was a huge airliner. Inside lights were on, revealing someone was already inside. Her stomach twisted in excitement. Then, she looked at Lucas whose eyes were sparkling.

"C'mon, follow me," Electra said and started to approach the plane.

They approached the very entrance and she led them in. As soon as her eyes fell on seats, Camila could see a lot of familiar faces. Some of them nodded in greeting and she politely replied.

Electra led them to their seats. Her mother and father were just behind them. Kaley, Camila, and Lucas got to sit together.

When they were settled, Electra leaned toward Kaley a bit.

"If you're still interested in knowing whether would Amelia be willing to sleep with you, you can ask her for yourself," the vampire whispered. "She's sitting a few rows ahead, right to your left and you can see her from here."

Both, Kaley and Camila immediately looked at said direction.

And then Camila saw her.

She knew how Amelia looked, due to the pictures she saw before but seeing a blue vampire in person was a completely different thing.

Blue eyes, straight dark hair and so beautiful face. Amelia was here, sitting a few feet from her. She felt the air leaving her lungs but in that exact moment, she honestly didn't care. Camila's eyes stayed locked on her. She simply couldn't take them away.

She sat with the other blue vampire who Camila recognized as her cousin Damien. They both looked relaxed, talking about something and not acknowledging anyone around them. Amelia wasn't even aware of Camila staring at her in trans.

"Holy Virgencita de Guadalupe!" Kaley exclaimed out loud, snapping her out of this frozen state.

A few heads turned toward them. Camila just lowered herself deep in her seat in embarrassment.

"You already cursed hell, shit and now the Virgin Mother. What's next, Kaley?" she asked, feeling so annoyed with her cousin.

Kaley started to jump up and down in her seat, grabbing Camila's arm.

"She's so fucking beautiful. That's it. I'm officially changing teams. I'm in your team now, Camila."

That made Camila slap Kaley's shoulder as hard as she could. The other girl yelped in pain.

"Are you crazy?" she hissed. "Stop talking so loud. Do you want somebody to hear you?"

Kaley rubbed her painful shoulder.

"Okay, you don't have to be so violent. I'll stop."

Now, Camila could finally relax a little. After Kaley managed to contain her excitement, the singer turned her attention to Lucas. Her brother seemed not to be aware of anything around him, besides his camera. He was still playing with it, trying to record the beginning of their "trip". Camila smiled at how adorable the boy could be. She heard her parents silently talking among themselves about God knows what.

Then, she returned her gaze to Amelia. The vampire was facing her cousin. She observed her lips moving in silent conversation. Camila once again thought about how she never saw someone so beautiful as her.

It was no secret that the entire vampire race was very attractive. They simply had that gene. The most of them had athlete bodies and very attractive faces. Female vampires didn't even need makeup. They looked insanely good without it.

Camila spent the rest of their waiting time staring at Amelia from afar. She didn't lift her head for once to look at the raising crowd in the plane. That gave Camila the opportunity to look at her without being caught.

After one additional hour on the land, the plane finally started moving. This seemed to startle both, Amelia and Damien and they finally got up and headed toward the pilot cabin.

Amelia's walk was as confident as Electra's when she got out to get them. The vampire had shaped body. Powerful muscles were moving beneath her black suit. Camila could see them clearly. But no matter of that, Amelia's figure was feminine.

It was contradictory.

After they were finally up in the air, she closed her eyes and decided to rest. Lucas was already sound asleep next to her and Kaley looked good on her way to dreamland too.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the flight for Helena, Montana."

A familiar voice broke over the whole plane, making Camila open her eyes again. She saw Electra standing in the middle of seat rows. All the attention was on her.

"We should land there in four hours, which means around 1 p.m.," the vampire continued to talk. "When we get there, we're going to regroup you together with your guardians. We're proceeding the transfer with busses. Until then, you have a few hours to rest but before we let you alone, I want to ask you one more favor. Blue vampire warrior's leader, Amelia would want to say something."

Camila's breath hitched.

Electra sat down again and then she saw the pilot's cabin door opening. Amelia and Damien got out and stood in the same spot. They exchanged glances before Amelia cleared her throat.

"I want to welcome you all. As you know, my name is Amelia. I'm the blue warrior's leader and the main responsible person for the transfer."

The vampire's raspy voice sent chills all over Camila's body. She looked to her right and saw Kaley in the same state as her.

"I hope everything so far went without any problems," Amelia continued. "Electra already explained further transfer procedure so I'm gonna focus more on general things. As you know, we're on our way to blue coven's complex, placed in Baldy Mountain. Blue coven is going to give you houses where you could stay during your days in our complex. There's no need to discuss technical things now because that's our leader's job. I would want to address code of conduct while we're living together. Our lifestyles are very different."

Camila saw her pausing a little to see human's reactions. Everyone's attention was on her.

"I understand you all have your own way of thinking, the way of life and certain rules you're following but I have to ask you that, during your time with the blue coven, you try to be open-minded. If you see something you don't like, if you somewhat get in conflict with any one of the blue ones, please, stay calm and move away," Amelia emphasized the last two words. "Don't try to fight. We're not red vampires but we still are stronger and the entire blue coven wants this to go as smoothly as possible. If someone starts to provoke you, immediately tell your guardian or came to me. We're going to handle that. Consider yourself warned."

Camila looked at few more faces with piercing blue eyes. They were all looking so friendly and calm but she knew Amelia warned them for a reason. In order to successful functioning, both races would have to compromise and adjust a lot.

"You have about four hours to rest before we get to Helena, so enjoy your flight. Thank you," Amelia finished her speech and sat down next to her cousin again.

Camila was looking at her for a few more seconds before she finally decided to close her eyes and rest. She would need sleep because there was a long way to the Baldy Mountain in front of them.

-

The whole plane was in complete silence. Amelia walked among sleeping bodies, settled in their seats. She looked at each and every face she walked by. They were so serene. Sound asleep.

"What are you doing?" she heard a whisper and turned around.

There stood Damien, looking at her with a confused facial expression.

She rubbed the back of her head.

"Nothing. I'm just looking what we'd have to deal with."

Her cousin rolled his eyes and then pulled her by the arm. They returned to their seats. Now it was Damien who looked around.

"The silence is hypnotic," he said. "Look at them. I want to join them in dreamland."

Amelia followed his gaze.

"They maybe are celebrities but they all are also humans," Damien continued. "Families with kids who are probably scared shitless over everything bad that's happening in this world. How can you not want to help them?"

She was silent for a few seconds, before sighing.

"I do want to help them. All these kids are the main reason why I'm still here, Damien," she replied, not looking in his eyes.

But Damien now looked at her.

"Not that we owe them anything but still," he started. "I honestly can't bear the thought of red ones harming their race. And we both know they will hurt them. This war is getting more brutal for every passing second."

She nodded in understanding.

"I know. I'm just scared how they're going adjust to a life in a closed complex. They can't go out just like that. And they all are celebrities. They're used to do what they want with nobody stopping them. And you know we're more open-minded than they are. Don't even try to deny it."

Amelia voiced her fears out loud while Damien listened to her patiently.

"Are you referring to our ability to fall in love with both sexes?" he asked.

The vampire finally looked at him.

"In between everything else," she replied but Damien just chuckled.

"Are you afraid some of them would bash your love with Xenia?"

Amelia rolled her eyes. As always, Damien never took her seriously and was childish.

"Damien, I'm serious."

"So am I," he immediately answered, his face serious again. Amelia knew he was not trying to be insensitive or something like that. He just tried to bring some light into this situation. "Look, you already asked them to stay open-minded and to be prepared. If any of them has a problem with our way of living, that's solely on them."

She once again nodded.

"I know, I know."

"Then why are you worrying so much? Everything is going to be fine," he reasoned. "Janus knows what he's doing."

Amelia took a deep breath and looked at sleeping faces of their passengers.

"I really hope so," she replied. "Because otherwise, we're screwed and we're screwed badly."

Damien adjusted his seat and made a content face.

"Let's go to sleep. We're gonna need it."

She laughed.

"We're not humans. Have you forgot we're up at night?"

He chuckled, straightening up again. Then, he started to wave with both of his arms.

"Oh yeah, the children of the night," he said.

As he said it, Amelia saw a hand hovering over his head and slapping the top of it. Damien jumped up, probably more startled then in pain.

She had to laugh at his facial expression. He looked like he would lose his shit for any moment.

"Shut the hell up, man," a voice behind the seat said.

Amelia recognized it as Storm's voice. Storm was one of her close friends and fellow warriors. She also was one of the guardians.

"What the fuck is your problem? You scared me, woman."

Two figures moved out of their seats and came right to Damien and Amelia. She saw the other silhouette was Neveah, also one of her fellow warriors. They sat across them.

"I'm bored," Neveah exclaimed. "Let's do something."

Damien sat down again.

"We could play cards," Storm said. "I saw them on the table a few rows ahead. We could borrow them until the guy wakes up."

"We're not going to steal someone else's stuff," Amelia immediately meddled in. "And be quiet. I don't want them to wake up. It's going to get loud again."

Storm rolled her eyes in obvious annoyance.

"You're still pissed off over this? It's done, Amelia. We're transporting them to our complex."

Amelia rolled her eyes in return. She wanted to get up and find some quiet place. No matter of so many sleeping figures all around them, her vampire companions could be very loud when they wanted to.

"I know. I'm not pissed, I'm just," she paused a little to find a way to vocalize her feelings but it was harder than she thought. "You know what, I'm going to sleep. Good night, guys."

Damien silently hollered.

"Finally, one clever suggestion," he said. "We have about two hours if I'm not wrong. Let's rest."

And they did. The only thing Amelia could hear now was a complete silence. Soon, she herself fell asleep.

-

"Camila? Camila, wake up. The lights are on." Camila heard a soft voice calling her. She stirred and opened her eyes which immediately started to burn, due to the strong light. She groaned and rubbed them.

"I think we're here," Kaley said.

Camila looked around and saw everyone else was up already.

"What time is it?" she asked.

Lucas pulled her sleeve to drag her attention to himself.

"Are we there yet?" he asked, his voice still raspy after he just woke up.

"Hey, buddy," Camila smiled to him. "I think we came to Helena. But we're still not in the exact place where we're going."

Lucas groaned, dragging his palm all over his face.

"I'm sick of traveling. I want to get out," he complained.

Camila laughed softly and leaned in so she could place a kiss on her brother's forehead. The camera on his lap once again dragged his attention away from Camila.

"Did you sleep well?" Kaley asked her.

She just nodded, rubbing her eyes.

"I did. But I'm still tired as hell."

Her cousin smiled. They were sitting there in silence for a few moments before they saw one of the vampires getting up.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we're now flying over Helena," she said. "We're going to land in a couple of minutes, so get ready."

Camila's eyes again ran to the seat where Amelia was settled. She smiled.

The vampire was talking with her cousin and another female vampire whose name was unknown to her. Camila couldn't recognize her from anywhere, not even the news. Then, both Amelia and Damien got up and headed to the pilot's cabin.

"What are they doing in there? Talking to the pilot?" Camila asked.

"I don't know. Maybe. But I do know I would love to be trapped in there with Amelia," Kaley replied, also looking at that direction.

Camila sighed.

"Please, don't start again," she asked her. "You've embarrassed me enough already."

Kaley looked like she was offended but Camila new better than that. She sometimes just liked to act like a diva.

"Ladies and gentlemen, here's your pilot speaking. We are going to land now. Please, don't leave your seats. Thank you."

After hearing the voice over the speaker, Camila adjusted herself better and tied the seat belt. After, she did the same with Lucas.

After a few minutes, their plane landed safe and sound on the runway. They drove for a little and then stopped.

The others started to get up and get ready to leave but Kaley pulled her sleeve.

"Wait for a little, I want to get out at the same time as them," she said, pointing out at Amelia and her other companions.

Camila groaned. She couldn't believe this.

"Kaley, I'm not in the mood. Really."

But as always, her cousin got what she wanted. The plane was slowly becoming empty. Even her parents and Lucas got out but she and Kaley were still sitting in their places.

"Kaley, c'mon. I'm leaving now," Camila said and stood up. She started to march towards the exit, Kaley after her.

"Camila, wait," she called but the singer didn't intend to listen to her.

When they were already at the very top of the stairs which lead to the firm ground, Kaley managed to catch up with her.

"You could've waited for a little while so I could see Amelia from behind," she complained.

Camila's face literally got red. She was so annoyed with Kaley who just continued to get off that plane.

"Oh, you're going to," she started to yell after her and getting down from the plane but she somewhat tripped and it happened inevitably.

She flew forward and didn't manage to catch handrail on time. Camila knew what was going to happen next.

But it didn't. In the last second, before her face would kiss the stairs, she felt two strong arms catching her around her waist. They helped her to get on her feet again.

Camila took a deep breath in relief and then looked up. She wasn't ready for what she saw.

She actually found herself eye to eye with these beautiful piercing blue eyes she was stalking on that plane. She was standing face to face with Amelia.

The vampire was already looking at her in concern.

Camila swallowed hard, her hand still holding Amelia's arms.

"Careful," Amelia uttered and Camila almost lost her shit. She actually talked to her. "You could've fallen over and broke something, miss Reyes."

Author's note:

Hi, guys. The introducing part of the story is over. This is where something actually begins to happen. As the story will move forward, you'll have a chance to meet the vampire race better which basically means that you'll meet them as I decided to make them. I didn't follow the usual "vampires' existing rules".

So, humans started to enter the vampires' world. I can promise you it's going to be a very bumpy ride.

If you liked the chapter, don't forget to hit a little star and vote for it or leave a comment. I'm looking forward to it.
