“Who’s calling, Anika?” Omkara asked, concern etched on his face.

Anika’s eyes widened in realization. “Guys! I think we’re being… oh no.”

She bolted toward the living room, her heart racing. Omkara immediately instructed Sayani and Gauri to follow her. Anika frantically searched the room, looking like a woman possessed. Despite their questions, she didn’t stop to explain. Meanwhile, Omkara unfolded the red cloth they’d found earlier, revealing a letter inside. He ran after Anika and shook her gently.

“What’s going on, Anika?” he asked urgently.

“Jennifer put cameras all around the mansion,” Anika exclaimed breathlessly. “She’s been spying on us.”

“That’s impossible!” Omkara retorted.

“Wait, remember those letters?” Sayani interjected. “She knew all our activities. It makes sense now.”

“Oh my God, she knew everything even though it wasn’t mentioned in any of our conversations,” Gauri added, slumping onto the couch.

“Not everything,” Anika corrected. “She only asked what we were doing, which means the cameras must be in the living room, not in…”

Omkara quickly put a finger to his lips, signaling for silence. Anika nodded, understanding. Just then, her phone rang again. It was Jennifer.

“Hey, Anika! Your team is super talented for finding my secret,” Jennifer taunted.

“We’re smarter than you think,” Anika shot back defiantly.

“No! You’re foolish because you don’t know what I’ve been planning all along,” Jennifer sneered. “Now, bring those papers to the address which I just sent you. And remember, if you bring the police or anyone else, Rajeev’s life will end right there.”

“Okay, I’ll come alone,” Anika replied, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her.

Jennifer sent a message with the address. Omkara signaled everyone to follow him upstairs. They hurried back to the secret room, confident that Jennifer didn’t know about it.

“Listen to me carefully,” Omkara began.

“Hmm,” they all murmured in unison.

“I read the letter last night,” Omkara revealed.

“What?” Anika reacted, surprised. “But you said only Rajeev could read it.”

“I lied,” Omkara admitted. “But I managed to decipher it.”

“Tell us what it says,” Anika demanded, her voice tense with anticipation.

“Here it goes,” Omkara read aloud.

[“‘I’m sorry, Anika. I know I haven’t given you the attention and love you deserve. Read this carefully and don’t share it with anyone, not even my business partners or employees. Behind our house, there’s a ruin. At the end of it, there’s a box covered with soil and leaves. I just buried it and I don’t know when you’ll need it, but I believe my life is in danger. Inside that box, there’s a file labeled under Rudra Singh Oberoi. It’s my dad’s legacy, which many businessmen covet. I have many enemies because of it. My dad wanted me and Omkara to have it, but he was killed by Mr… I beg you, don’t let this fall into the wrong hands. And yes, do convey my love to Omkara and his future wife. Make sure no one gets this paper. As soon as you find this letter, hide those papers somewhere safe. And the ornaments you found are for you. Love, Shivaay.’”]

“Oh my God,” Anika whispered, her eyes filling with tears.

“Wait a second! Anika, how come you didn’t find that box in the ruins?” Gauri asked, puzzled.

“I think someone stole those papers,” Anika replied, her voice trembling.

“What do we do now?” Sayani asked, anxiety clear in her tone.

“I have a plan,” Omkara said decisively. “Anika and I will go to Jennifer with fake papers. Gauri and Sayani, you two go to the ruins and search again.”

Anika grabbed a random stack of papers, and she and Omkara headed out. They took separate cars, with Omkara following Anika to avoid losing track. Within an hour, they arrived at a deserted warehouse. Anika parked her car and waited. Soon, a car pulled up, and Jennifer emerged, looking smug and self-assured.

“Here comes the bitch,” Anika muttered under her breath.

She spotted Rajeev in the backseat, unconscious. Jennifer walked towards her, her high heels clicking ominously on the concrete.

“Hello, Miss Winget,” Anika said, extending her hand.

“Nice to see you, Mrs. Oberoi,” Jennifer replied, shaking hands with a sly smile.

“Are you satisfied by killing my husband?” Anika asked, her voice dripping with contempt.

“No, I’m not satisfied,” Jennifer said, shaking her head. “Not until I have those papers.”

“What do you want now?” Anika demanded. “You’ve already ruined my life.”

“Those papers will make me the most successful and richest woman in the world,” Jennifer declared. “It’s my dad’s dream to see me snatch this from the Oberois.”

“A proud moment, indeed,” Anika scoffed.

“Yes, it will be the proudest moment of my life when I hand over these papers to my father, Mr. Vardhan Winget,” Jennifer boasted. “Do you know what I did to achieve this?”

“I don’t want to know,” Anika spat.

Anika saw Omkara discreetly approaching Jennifer’s car. He managed to pull Rajeev out and signaled Anika to keep Jennifer occupied.

“Now, tell me what you did to achieve this,” Anika urged, trying to buy time.

“I killed one of your employees and your husband,” Jennifer confessed, her eyes gleaming with malice.

“And?” Anika prodded, feigning fear to keep Jennifer talking.

Jennifer sensed something was off and turned just in time to see Omkara pulling Rajeev to safety.

“Run, Anika!” Omkara shouted.

Anika pushed Jennifer and sprinted toward Omkara. Jennifer, enraged, pulled out a gun and fired. Miraculously, none of the bullets hit their mark. Omkara drove up, and Anika and Rajeev jumped into the car. They sped away, with Jennifer’s shots ringing in the background.

They managed to escape unscathed. The fake papers had bought them enough time to retrieve Rajeev. The true legacy of the Oberois was safe and now, Anika knew, it was up to them to protect it.

Back at the mansion, Anika, Omkara, Gauri, and Sayani gathered in the living room, the weight of their ordeal settling over them.

“We need to make sure Jennifer doesn’t try anything again,” Omkara said, breaking the silence.

“We will,” Anika said firmly. “Together, we’ll protect our family and our legacy.”

The four of them sat in quiet resolve, knowing that their battle was far from over but confident that, united, they could face whatever came next.
