Ishita PoV:

My hands trembled as I struggled to process the implications of the message. The realisation that someone was watching, monitoring my every move, filled me with a sense of vulnerability and dread. With a deep breath, I forced myself to remain composed, knowing that I had to stay strong in the face of this threat.

Just then, the door opened wide, my heart skipped a beat. And I found Rishab standing there. His unexpected presence caught me off guard, leaving me momentarily speechless.

''I need to shift my clothes to the guest room," he said, his voice breaking the tense silence that hung between us.His words echoed in the room, adding to the weight of the situation. I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt and sadness at the realisation that our relationship had reached such a state of distance and mistrust. With a heavy heart, I nodded silently, unable to find the words to express the turmoil raging within me. As Rishab began to gather his belongings, I watched in silence.

Lowering my gaze, I desperately tried to conceal the vulnerability of my state, unwilling to let Rishab see the turmoil that churned within me.

Just then, the mobile in my hand rang again. Startled, I flinched, and in my panicked state, I dropped my mobile in fear. The sound of it hitting the floor echoed in the room, adding to the tension that hung in the air. My heart raced as I struggled to regain my composure, the fear of the unknown looming over me like a dark cloud. With trembling hands, I bent down to pick up my mobile, my mind racing with a million thoughts and possibilities. The uncertainty of who was on the other end of the line only added to my anxiety, leaving me feeling vulnerable and exposed.

Immediately, Rishab ran in my direction and held my arm, concern etched on his face. "What happened? Why are you looking scared?" he asked, his voice filled with worry as he examined my face for any signs of distress.

Feeling his touch and hearing his words, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. Despite the tension between us, his instinctive response to my fear reminded me of the bond we shared and the concern he still harbored for me. Gathering my courage, I forced a shaky smile and shook my head, trying to reassure him. "It's nothing, just a bit startled by the sudden noise," I replied, hoping to downplay my reaction.

Rishab's expression softened with understanding, and he gently squeezed my arm in reassurance. "If you're sure," he said, though the concern still lingered in his eyes.

With a nod, I returned his gaze, grateful for his comforting presence in that moment of vulnerability. As we stood there together, his mobile rang. He took out his mobile and then immediately attended the call with a small smile.

As I heard the conversation over the call, I understood the call from Tony. While talking over the call, he quietly walked out of the room.

As Rishab stepped away from me, a wave of fear engulfed me once again. Despite my desire for his comforting presence, I hesitated to ask him to stay with me in the same room, mindful of the tension that lingered between us after the events of the afternoon. The fear of rejection clouded in mind.

After a few moments, he came back to the room to gather his belongings.

“ Rishab…. I think you can take them tomorrow….” I suggested as I felt so ashamed of my behaviour.

He gave a weird look at me and was opposed to my words. But before that I lied, “ I am tired and sleepy. Just I want to take a bath ....”

Without saying any words, he nodded his head and turned away to leave the door.

“ But don't skip your dinner. It's not good to show anger on food…” he said before walking out of the bedroom.

On hearing his words, I felt like crying. I never expected him to show so much care even after hurting his heart with my rude behaviour.

Rishab PoV

As I walked away from the room, leaving Ishita alone, a whirlwind of emotions churned within me. Her sudden request to keep my belongings in the bedroom had caught me off guard, leaving me bewildered and unsure of how to respond.

Despite the tension that lingered between us, her vulnerability was unmistakable, tugging at my heartstrings in a way I couldn't ignore. As I made my way to the guest room, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over me. The distance that had grown between Ishita and me weighed heavily on my mind, filling me with a sense of guilt and regret.

Though I longed to reach out to her, to offer her the comfort and reassurance she so desperately needed, I found myself hesitating, unsure of how to bridge the gap that had formed between us.  And yet, despite the challenges we faced, a part of me still longed to reach out to Ishita, to offer her the support and understanding she deserved.

Sleep was far away from me. I tossed and turned thinking of all the incidents since the morning. I reminisced how her body responded to my touch. Not only that, I could not stop myself from checking on her as she looked tense before I left the bedroom. I decided to see her once and stood up from the bed. I tiptoed in the direction and slowly opened the door without making noise. I was startled to see her sleeping peacefully that too wearing my Tee- Shirt.

As I stood in the doorway, watching Ishita sleeping peacefully in my T-shirt, a flood of emotions washed over me. The sight of her wearing my shirt, her soft features bathed in the gentle glow of moonlight, stirred something deep within me.

Memories of our moments together flooded my mind—the warmth of her touch, the sweetness of her laughter, the way she fit perfectly against me as we slept.

“ Is this the reason she doesn't want me to take my belongings ! Then why did she accuse me in the afternoon about Nithya?“ I doubted.

Stepping into the room, I approached the bed with hesitant steps, my gaze never leaving Ishita's peaceful form. As I reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from her face, I felt a surge of warmth and affection wash over me. Despite the uncertainties of the future, I knew that in that moment, all that mattered was the love that bound us together.

With a soft sigh, I settled onto the edge of the bed, content to watch over Ishita as she slept.

As I sat there by Ishita's side, watching her sleep peacefully, a nagging doubt gnawed at my heart. Her words from earlier echoed in my mind, casting a shadow of doubt over the sincerity of her actions.

The contradiction in her words left me feeling conflicted and unsure of where we stood. Was her request for me to stay in the guestroom merely a facade, a way to mask her true feelings? Or was there a deeper truth hidden beneath her words, one that I had failed to see?

As I grappled with these questions, a sense of unease settled over me, clouding my thoughts and stirring up a whirlwind of emotions.

Taking a deep breath, I recollected all the incidents from the morning. I noticed the drastic change in her after we returned from the temple. Adding to it, the way she reacted to the call grew my suspicion.

“ Is Nithya disturbing Ishu by calling to her mobile? “ I thought in my mind.

I wanted to confirm by myself as she will not answer me straight. I took her mobile that was on the bedside table. But to my dismay, it has a security lock that I cannot access. I felt so frustrated as I failed to find it. Just then I noticed an eight wonder and stood up from the bed.

I took her mobile into my hand and examined closely with my eyes as I wanted to confirm it was my imagination or real.

She kept the locked screen image where I carried her in my arms when we visited the beach.

“ Oh my god!! It means she still loves me ….” I smiled to myself like a stupid once I confirmed by examining that image.

“ It means …. She was so disturbed by seeing Nithya with me from afar. And she misunderstood me by Nithya’s words ....” I understood.

Despite the complexities of our situation, one thing remained clear: Ishita was struggling with the past, and her actions were driven by a fear and uncertainty that she couldn't shake.

Without disturbing her sleep, I sat on the comfy chair while staring at her beautiful face.

“ Even if you stab me, I am not going to leave you … Wifey… this is the promise of your husband, Rishab…. especially when I came to know… you still love me….” I mumbled with a smile.
