Children were mischievous creatures wether or not they were quiet and seemingly shy of the world, there was no doubt about it that mostly all children had a side to them that most, if not all, adults loathe with their entire being. The constant exploring they did, the randomized times for a Adventure, the ideas they came up with if only to use them for revenge or entertainment was almost astonishing.

However, most people never really took into account, why they're so keen on creating trouble and causing mishaps. Most people assume that they're just brats, kids who do want they want with no real care for the consequences while others assume that they're spoiled and are used to having so much attention but that was the main problem.

Attention.

Children needed attention, they craved attention, they basically live for it for the first few years of their life. When a child faces neglect, numerous things can happen. Some turn into trouble makers just for attention, others become secluded and think they are invisible to everyone around them while most of the time, children tend to accept any attention given to them wether it be good or bad. As long as people paid attention to them, they were presumably 'happy'.

However, not all children wanted attention and being given something they don't want usually ends in failure.

Perhaps this was the reason why Blue found himself holding his torso, bile splattering against the ground, his pale eyes could only narrow in at the other boy next to him, coughing up saliva and mucus. He hadn't gone looking for attention, yet somehow it rushed towards him in the worst way possible.

A kick to the side caused his reflexes to react, hands removing themselves from his torso to at least protect himself from the fall he was about to have only for a hand to swoop underneath him, fingers curling around the collar of his sweater and suddenly heaving him up into the air. His legs dangled helplessly and the fist that held his collar was also digging into his neck, possibly bruising it. He coughed, swinging helplessly as the leader continued to spit insults into his face as if he was a target and his mouth was the gun.

Blue's eyes landed on the boy's fist as he opened his mouth, teeth suddenly sinking into flesh as hard as they could. The skin broke away, the juicy flesh beneath it pulsing rapidly from being cut while the taste of iron soon flooded his mouth. He let out a dull cough as he spat out the liquid, the hand immediately dropping him to the ground as the brown haired boy screeched like some possessed parrot.

Blue scrambled to his feet, eyes flickering around helplessly before he whirled around and hooked his fingers underneath Finley's own collar, pulling on it slightly to get him to stand up. The leader continued to scream about how he was going to tell on him but Blue simply ignored it, hands ghosting across Finley's mop of hair before one cupped his cheek, nails pinching the skin as Blue tilted his head to the side and forced Finley's chin upwards to look at him.

Worried green eyes soon met with frightened blue ones and the taller boy's shoulders stiffened slightly as he snatched up Finley's wrist in his free hand, letting go of his chin and suddenly dragging him along. The two stumbled over their own two feet as the sounds of angered screaming made Blue wince to himself.

"What are ya doing just standing there?! Get the stupid shrimps so I can rip all their teeth out!"

Finley let out a frightened whimper and Blue could only tighten his hold on the boy's wrist before ducking underneath some low hanging branches, his free hand suddenly grasping unto a doorknob. He furrowed his eyebrows before twisting it slowly, watching the door swing open just as a loud scream of victory was heard.

"Found you, Little shrimps!"

The reddish black haired boy wasted no time in pulling him and Finley inside, slamming the door closed and fumbling with the lock switch until a click sounded across the nearly empty room. Fists pounded against the door heavily as Blue backed away, pulling Finley along with him until the two were at a safe distance not to get pummeled to death should the door ever open.

Blue's chest heaved as he pressed his back against the wall, letting go of Finley's wrist in order to wipe the sweat from his forehead. His free hand gripped the sides of his pants in restrained anger that only the other boy, Finley, could ever notice.

"B-blue...?"

The taller boy brought his knees to his chest, resting his head against them as the assault on the door continued for Merlin knows how long. He heaved a exasperated sigh, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling and ignoring the obvious attempt of Finley's to try and speak to him.

His eyes focused upon the window, where the sun was slowly setting and the voices of the bullies growing louder as they threatened the two before stomping off. He brought his lips into a thin line and rummaged through his pocket, pulling out a single paper that held the word 'Brother' upon it. It was green much like his eyes yet the color of the word was black, much like his hair. The light from the sunset shone through the window, illuminating the symbol that was present upon the paper.

A single lightening bolt was seen and as the light continued to shine upon it, Blue's fingers curled ever so slightly, nails tearing into the paper as a drop of water splashed upon it.

"L-liar..." the word was stammered out yet still loud enough to cause a stir within Finley as he glanced at the Boy with confused eyes. Blue hardly noticed him, too busy focusing upon the green paper in his hands that was slowly becoming wet with water that slipped from his own eyes and down his cheeks.

His lips curled to form a upset sneer as he slowly started to tear the paper into pieces, choked whimpers and sobs leaving his lips and giving him no time to get proper air into his lungs. He hardly registered the arms that were around him or the fingers trying to desperately wipe away his tears, all the ten year old noticed was his own anguish that spilled over his cup, splattering against the ground.

The shredded paper pieces fluttered to the floor as Blue curled his knees in tighter, shoving away the comfort that was brought to him with a angered growl. Green eyes, filled with sorrow and glossy with water, narrowed in even more anger and before Finley could get a word out, Blue had already shouted at the top of his lungs despite it cracking midway from all the pent up frustration.

"Leave me alone, you freak!"

The boy stiffened, lips wobbling as he backed up, tripping over his own two feet and slamming his unprotected head against the wall. Letting out a strangled cry, Finley brought his hands to his head sliding down towards the floor as Blue's words slowly sunk into his mind, whirling around like a tornado and ringing inside his ears like a bell. His lips started to wobble again, eyes suddenly stinging and the feeling of wetness dripping down his cheeks the only evidence that he was crying in the dimly lit room.

The sound of footsteps made the shorter boy wince along with the small voice that had shouted at him as clear as day a few minutes prior. He had his eyes shut, lip still wobbling and back pressing against the wall behind him as hard as it  could as if he wanted to disappear.

"Finn-"

"I know I shouldn't have kept my hopes up! You're just like the rest, aren't you? Y-you'll pretend until you feel like it's time to leave, you'll ditch me first thing in-"

The pause in wording was surprising, fingers pressed up against pale lips and those emerald green eyes seemed to become a mixture of worry and pain with concern in the center. Blue had his lips into a thin line, eyes boring into glossy blue ones until the shaking slowly came to a stop and the tears dried up like a desert.

"I won't leave you..." Blue's voice was soft, softer than normal as he sat cross legged in front of the boy, taking his fingers from the boy's lips and wiping them against his sweater as he tilted his head to the side and stared into blue eyes that were brightened with confusion and doubt.

"....You.. won't?"

There was no pause, no hesitation, and no stammering as Blue felt his lips twitch upwards if only for a brief moment.

"Promise."
