"You're joking, right?" asked Pacifica in an incredulous tone as she gaped at Dipper. Disbelief shook her bones. She wasn't going to be able to kill the gnomes, Pacifica knew that much. She could hardly harm flies! Dipper grit his teeth, his hand was still enveloped in her trembling one. Heat resurfaced to her cheeks, but she disregarded those emotions.

"Baby, I wish I was," said Dipper in a heartless tone.

"Can you guys please hurry the hell up? I'm getting beat by fucking midgets!" snarled Phil from under the tiny man who was beginning to tie him up with thick ropes.

"My name is Hosea! And I want him!" rasped the little man, wagging his stubby finger at Gideon, whose eyes widened. "However, this buddy of yours won't live long if he keeps moving!"

"Me?" gasped Gideon, pointing at himself in confusion.

"Can we focus on the problem at hand?" said a bewildered Greg, panic seeping into him.

"Hosea? Your name does not suit you, my guy," commented Phil. Hosea kicked him, and Phil yelped, groaning. "The hell?"

"The only problem here is that my girlfriend turned out to be gnomes that are jerks! Like, what the frick man? Playing with my feelings is not cool! Not cool!" whined Gideon. Dipper scoffed. Pacifica's heart thundered. Gideon seemed to be completely enamored by the idea of love, and wasn't able to see that they all could potentially be killed by these evil gnomes.

At least, that's what the Journals had implied.

"Get off of him or I swear you'll all regret it," spat Dipper in a venomous tone that even brought fear into Pacifica's being. He stood in a defensive stance, in front of a worried Pacifica, whose eyes were flitting around the massive trees and the little people attached to them.

"Listen, he's in no danger! I promise you!" said the tiny man, his white moustache twitching. Greg, Dipper, and Pacifica heard Phil yell seconds later, "Look behind you!"

Gideon was being tied tightly, and then pushed onto the floor by the Gnome Folk. Cackling loudly, the head of what used to be Normandy stood atop his wiggling body. Pacifica didn't know what to do, still unsure of just how much danger they were in.

"All he has to do is marry all of us, become our King for just eternity! He's safe, don't worry!" exclaimed the little Gnome in a shrill voice.

"That's fucked up," grunted out Phil. "Ow!" he shrieked when Hosea kicked him again. Pacifica's mind was rushing with ideas on how to get out of here, but also wondered why Dipper looked furious, a vein throbbing on his forehead. No matter how attractive he looked, Pacifica was still seething at the fact that Gideon was almost killed last summer.

As much as she wanted nothing to do with Dipper Gleeful, she needed his help right now. Squeezing Dippers hand, she nudged him closer to her, blood flushing to her cheeks as he looked intensely at her.

"Can you deal with Hosea if I get Normandy to get distracted?" muttered Pacifica to him, her eyes focused on his lips. Dipper's face contorted into confusion. "Normandy's the lady Gnome on Gideon?" He nodded, understanding seeping into his features.

"Hey, HEY! Listen here!" screamed the little man, his body quivering with anger. "I need attention!"

"Boy, you and me both," grumbled Phil, struggling to get out of the ropes that had been tightly bound onto his wrists and feet.

"You've got our attention, what do you want?" said Greg in a wavering voice, his hands up as his eyes flitted across the situation. Pacifica acknowledged that the little Gnomes just needed a little talk to get easily distracted, so she turned to Normandy.

"Normandy!" she said in a cool voice, her hand leaving Dipper's. From her peripheral vision, she saw him glance down at his hand then hers, a small frown gracing his features. She disregarded that as well. The lady Gnome on Gideon sneered at her, stepping off of Gideon who was still wiggling, his face distraught.

"It's not Normandy, blondie, it's Jessie!"

"Jessie, of course, lovely name by the way," said Pacifica, her mind buzzing with ways to distract her.  Normandy grunted in a somewhat pleased way. "So, what I was thinking is that if we do let you have Gideon - "

"Whaddya mean LET US, we will take him! By force if that's necessary!" a raspy voice yelled from the trees, hundreds of voices shouting in agreement.

"I mean, your future King wouldn't like that, now would he?" said Pacifica in a nervous tone. Looking around her surroundings, all she could see was the leaf covered forest floor, a cool wind maneuvering their way around the tall, DARK trees.

Wasn't there daylight just now? The sun seemed to be setting, and with that the forest begun to seem far more dangerous than the little people Pacifica and her group of "friends" had encountered.

Jessie turned around looking at her fellow midget-people and heard murmurs of agreement. "I mean, if you say so -"

"Oh, will you just shut up," growled Dipper, his eyes glowing a brilliant blue. Pacifica whipped around to face the stoic boys face. Heart thundering, Pacifica felt her clammy hands beginning in an attempt to grab him, but logic prevented her from doing so. A vein popped in his neck, his anger radiating off of him in waves.

Is he a demon, or something?  No, no, that's ridiculous. Black magic? Did Pacifica even believe in that? What the hell?

Pacifica's eyes glanced around herself, and saw that Acid did not seem disturbed by it. However, Philip and Greg were perturbed to the point that Greg's face resembled a white sheet. It was probably the same face Pacifica was making.

Putting her attention back to the matter at hand, she realized that Dipper's feet were no longer on the forest floor. He was literally floating mid-air. Her jaw dropped. Silence seemed to have enveloped the entire forest, as Pacifica could only hear her shallow breaths. The Gnomes had completely slipped her mind.

All she could register that Dipper's usual warm, chocolate colored eyes were now blue.

A cold, slimey feeling crawled up her spine. Something didn't feel right. Of course Dipper floating wasn't right, but especially the odd feeling she was beginning to hate. That's when her head started spinning, her eyes slightly hooded from the sleep that was irking its way to succumb her.

       "Sleep."

That commanding tone was all she heard before her eyes closed and felt her body go limp.

Dipper knew what he was doing, at least he hoped he did. His nerves were in a mess, and this strange warm feeling started to bite at his heart. It couldn't possibly be worry for Pacifica's sleeping body on the forest floor, could it? No, no, I hate her. He assured himself.

He knew he was lying to himself.

Whilst this internal battle was going on, his anger was barely dissipating and ever present. He had used some of the Cipher's electric power to flow through him and he felt repulsed with himself. One word caused the entire area to go silent, the still life causing Dipper to shake with even more anxiety.

His mind was a mess. All the Gnomes had fell asleep, remaining perched on the branches of the daunting trees, eyes closed and bodies tight with poise. Dipper's breathing slowed down, as he took one last look at the forest, and closed his glowing blue eyes.

Allowing himself just a fraction of the Cipher's power, he willed with whatever was remaining of his sanity, to try and teleport whoever he could back into their dorms, and the Gnomes back where ever they came from.

"First are the Gnomes, their want is their demise. Offer them a Queen, with pretty, green eyes."

Tears threatened to spill from his ridiculously luminous eyes, his thick eyelashes wet with fury. Crumpling to the floor, his back rumbled with broken cries and tangled nerves. He felt like he could hear the Cipher's laughing at Dipper's weak resolve.

And then, he heard him speak right into his ear, the cool breath igniting a flame in Dipper's dread-ridden heart. "First the Gnomes." Dipper's stomach dropped as he held his breath, eyes wide. "Then the Behemoth of the Sea."

Turning his head slowly, he anticipated seeing the cruel man. Yet, it was just the dark woods that seemed to grow in height, frowns seemed to be etched into their bark, mouths growing larger in to eat up Dipper's shrinking sanity.

Scrambling up from the leaf infested floor, he quickly wiped at his eyes, the brilliance of the blue dimming in his eyes slowly returning to dark swirls. He scanned the area before looking at the familiar mop of blonde hair tangled with roots and sticks.

His bloodshot eyes widened, his failure to teleport her out of all the people! Disappointment flooded within him, an unfamiliar ache gripping his heart. Dipper didn't know what to do with this mess of a situation, and these feelings were inconvenient, yet comforting.

As though they were a reminder that he was still human, capable of feeling.

Crouching to look at the angelic glow that surrounded Pacifica under the moonlight, Dipper was tired. Tired of everything. He hooked his arm under her neck, and the other underneath her knees and began to carry her out of the woods.

His heart seemed to calm down around Pacifica. Everything seemed okay when Dipper was near her. Even if Dipper was unsure of everything going on in his life at the moment, he was sure of one thing; Pacifica.
