"You told me you'll be home for Christmas," Thorn whispered, tears building in his eyes. "We've already planned a lot of things."

"I'm sorry, Thorn. I had an emergency call and I need to stay here," Solar said regretfully. "I really wanted to go home, I swear. I tried so hard to get home for Christmas, but they just wouldn't let me."

"You have not tried enough then. The Solar I know will stop at nothing just to get what he wants."

"Thorn, I---"

"Goodbye, Solar. I hope you'll enjoy spending Christmas alone."

Thorn's bitter face was the last thing he saw before the call ended.

Why do I keep making short drabbles instead of proper oneshots???

Also, this was inspired by my disappointment on the news that my father won't be home until Christmas itself. So yeah, we won't be able to celebrate a proper Christmas since we're all gonna be busy.
