Even with my eyes closed

Quake rubbed his eyes and sighed. It had been a long day for him, taking care of his fellow elementals who had been causing trouble the whole day.

Sometimes, he just wished that he isn't the most responsible one of the group. It gets really tiring, having to constantly be on guard whenever something bad is going to happen.

H was glad that the rest of his brothers are already asleep, meaning that he can have all the peace for himself. Going to his room, he found what he was looking for: a talking lamp.

I hear you speak to me

The talking lamp was a gift by Solar a few weeks ago. The light elemental had presented to him the gift with a big, bright smile.

"This is so that you can feel my presence even when I'm not with you," Solar had said, going as far as winking at him.

Thinking back, Quake realized that Solar had been planning on sacrificing himself to Retak'ka at that time. Tears sprung in his eyes as his hand ghosted over the lamp, hearing Solar's voice telling him some words of wisdom.

The lights that you shine

Solar was, quite literally, the light of Quake's life. Solar was there when he was down and stressed from all the pressure and responsibilities, giving him some words of wisdom with his ever knowing eyes.

Solar never failed to calm him down, beating all of his emotional arguments with calmness and pure logic. It was something that even Thunderstorm and Cyclone, the two closest to him, cannot do.

Solar was one of a kind.

Stay with me all the time

And even though Solar's gone, he had still left a piece of himself to Quake: his words of wisdom. Quake run a hand on the lamp again, crying as he heard the familiar low, soothing voice of his youngest brother.

"When life seems bleak, don't ever lose hope. Your brothers are here, Quake. I am here."

It's the widest river

"You're not here, Solar," Quake whispered hoarsely. "Why aren't you here? Your brothers need you, Solar. I need you."

Quake cried clutching the lamp in his hands like a lifeline.

I've ever felt or seen

"Hey Quake. It's okay to be weak. It's okay to fall. But always remember to get up and conquer it all."

Quake didn't try to fight the smile that was threatening to appear in his face. It was something that Solar woulf say had he found Quake in this current condition.

But keep shining your lights

"You're strong, Quake. Both of us knew that. You can do this. You can go through all of the hardships. Because you're Quake, and the Quake I know never gives up."

Even when you're gone, Solar, you've never failed to shine your light on us still, Quake thought, smiling as he stood up. He wiped his tears away and got ready for bed, hoping for at least a few hours of sleep before facing the next day.

And I'll believe

"You've made it this far, Quake. I'm proud of you. Believe in yourself, and you'll go through many more even without me."

"Because what doesn't break you only makes you stronger."
