Water has memory. It remembers everything.

Blaze laughed as he chased his twin around the pool. But because of Ice's chubby structure, the fire elemental immediately caught up to him and wrapped him in his arms.

"Api!" Ice giggled. "No fair!"

"Nothing is ever fair, dear brother," Blaze said, smirking.

Ice wiggled out of his grasp and sat down, Blaze doing the same beside him. The fire elemental dipped his feet on the water, sighing as he felt the comforting cold sensation.

"Blaze?" Ice asked, adjusting his glove on his right hand. "What's got you so blue?"

Blaze didn't answer. He just stared at his brother, memorizing every detail as if Ice would just disappear any moment.

"Blaze?"

"What if you're not here anymore?" the fire elemental whispered, his good mood evaporating in an instant.

Ice smiled sadly at him. "You're going to have to do the next part on your own."

"Ice," the fire elemental whispered, tears building in his eyes. "Please don't leave me."

Blaze reached out to his brother, but felt nothing but the soft texture of snow in his hands. Ice was gone.

"You're going to have to do the next part on your own."

Yes. Ice is dead here.

Some quotes came from Olaf in Frozen 2, and the plot of the story is also based from the said movie.

If you're asking on why Blaze can summon Ice's memory in the pool, it's because he contains a part of Ice's consciousness because of Frostfire's existence.

And yes, Blaze can activate Frostfire by himself even after Ice died. But only when he's near water sources.

If you have any more questions/clarifications, feel free to ask.
