Y/N's POV

After the N/F had dispersed, I sighed, running a hand through my hair.  "That...was stressful."

B/F/N chuckled.  "You handled it well. Just like a true leader."

I smiled at him as I stood up.  "Thanks.  But...what now?  Father will DEFINITELY be looking for me now.  It won't be too long until he finds this place.  Even with the strength of all these people, it won't be enough to fight him.  And you can't kill a god."

S/N handed me my items,  but I just took the glasses.  "I'd prefer to stay like this.  I'll cover my eyes so I don't freak out people even though they know I'm ok."

I slid them on.

"Well, while we think of a plan, why don't I show you around?  Much has changed since you've been gone."

I clapped my hands excitedly.  "I am SO ready to see the amazing changes to this place!"

B/F/N laughed.  "There's the Y/N I remember!  Now come on.  There's a specific girl I want you to meet."

Now it was my turn to laugh.  "Ooh, someone's been busy~!  Finally got yourself a mate?"

B/F/N blushed and facepalmed.  "For Notch's sake, Y/N!  No!  I'm saying that you'll really be interested in what she does."

I giggled and turned to S/N and Candid.  "Hey, Candid?"

He cocked his head.  "Yeah?"

"Do you think you can hang out with S/N for a while?  Maybe go take her to a restaurant.  Err...do I need to give you money?  I've got some in my house if no one's been up there."

Candid smirked.  "Don't worry, it's fine.  You go hang and catch up with B/F/N."

I looked to S/N.  "Don't annoy him too much, ok?  I'll see you in a few hours."

She nodded and headed over to Candid.

I turned to B/F/N.  "So, where to?"

He turned and jumped off the platform.  "Follow me."

I nodded and jumped down, too.

We walked out of the plaza and through many different streets.  I saw more buildings and houses, as well as children running about or sitting and reading or playing on something.

Then, a familiar face appeared around a corner, chasing a little boy who also looked vaguely familiar.  They were both laughing.

They stopped and turned to me.  "Oh, hi, Y/N!"  Rachel exclaimed.

The little boy was Joshua, the boy that B/F/N had pointed at when the announcement went off.  He grinned.  "Hello!  I think you look really pretty!"

I melted a little inside from how adorable he sounded.  He looked about 6 or 7.  "Aww, thank you!  That's very nice!"

He grinned wider.  "Catch me, Rachel!"  He yelled happily, dashing off again.

Rachel laughed and waved bye to me before sprinting after him.

We continued down the streets, greeting a few N/F along the way.  While they tried VERY hard to hide it, some were still scared.  I didn't blame them.

We finally got to the edge of the large cave area to see many different hallways into the rock that were labelled with letters.

"These are different mines we've set up.  After the huge increase in N/F, we didn't want people leaving on mining missions too much, so we created these mining veins.  She should be in Vein D."

He went and entered the hallway labelled D.

I followed, looking around.

There were many jagged holes throughout the walls and ceilings, but the ground was covered in either stone and cobblestone.

"Being this deep down has been fortunate as we can find all the resources we need.  With the magic of the sorcerers, we can also recreate the sun is various ways, though we do take occasional field trips to the surface since being trapped underground forever is a bad idea."

"B/F/N?  Is that you?"  A small feminine voice called.

"Yeah."

A smallish female came out of one of the holes in the wall, grinning and dirty.

She had platinum-blond hair and...crystal eyes?  Like, she literally had crystals as her irises!  Her S/A was a bit covered in dirt, but it was still there.

"Oh!  Hi, Y/N!"  She said happily, placing a diamond pickaxe she had in her hand against the wall.

I smiled.  "Hi!"

B/F/N looked to me with a grin.  "Y/N, meet Gem, the ore compass."

Gem made a pouty face.  "I'm just an ore finder, not a compass!"

B/F/N chuckled.  "She's only 13, but she's one of our best miners."

"Though I prefer to be in the field."

"So...what do you mean by ore finder?"

Gem grinned and picked up her pick.  "Watch this."

She beat through the wall a bit and then came out with a few pieces of coal.  "I left that there because we have plenty of coal as it is.  I do sense some budder around here, though...."  She trailed off, looking down the path a bit.

"Budder?"  I asked.

"Yeah, they kinda picked it up since you've been saying it since forever.  I have to ask, where have you heard that?"  B/F/N asked.

I was deep in thought for a moment before I fell to the ground, a sudden burst of pain in my head when I tried to remember.

"Y/N!"  B/F/N exclaimed, kneeling down next to me.

I frowned.  "I think Father put a block in my mind.  I can't remember anything from before I escaped the first time...."  I mumbled as I stood back up.  "Anyway, Gem, you said you...sensed budder?"

She nodded and walked down a bit to an untouched area.  She stood in front of a seemingly random spot and mined in.  About 30 seconds later, she emerged with 5 pieces of budder ore.  "I can sense where ores are from just about anywhere.  I used to be able to only do it from a few feet, but after a ton of practice, I can sense it from about 30 chunks away.  It's REALLY cool."

"Is it all ores or just the natural ones?"

She pocketed the ores.  "Natural ones are much easier to detect, but I can sense processed ores somewhat."

B/F/N interrupted.  "Hey, Gem, do you still have...that ore you found about a month ago?"

She looked confused for a second before nodding.  "Yeah...why?"

"Can you take it out?"

She hesitantly reached into her pocket and pulled out an ore that I've never seen before.

It was shaped like a diamond, but it was red.

"What...is that?" I asked as she handed it to me.

It was pretty light and...well, pretty in general.  "It's a ruby.  I thought these were just myths until I found this one.  I showed it to B/F/N and he said to just hold onto it."

"Is this natural or processed?"  B/F/N asked.

"Natural.  It's very strong in my senses as I've never sensed it before."

B/F/N pulled out a budder chain from his pocket.  It had a ring on the bottom of it that was hollow and seemed to fit with the ruby.  "Here, put it in this."

I took the ruby and set it into the necklace.  The budder around it seemed to mold into it, holding it in place much better.

B/F/N came up to me and put the necklace on me.

I blushed.  "B/F/N, this is too precious to be giving as a gift.  Shouldn't you hold onto it for study?"

He shook his head.  "We've only ever found one, and since then, Gem hasn't sensed anything like it.  I think you should have it.   Think of it as a welcome back gift.  Also, since Gem can sense it, we'll be able to find you if you go missing again.  Think of it as a...special...necklace...."  He trailed off.

I laughed.  "Yes, thank you, that clears EVERYTHING up."

He backed up and grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.  He then turned to Gem.  "Would you like to hang with us?  I think it'd be a good way to get you two acquainted."

She nodded, placing her pick against the wall again.  "Yeah!  ...Uh, if you'll let me stop by my house to change."

I smirked and nodded.   "Of course.  Where to next, B/F/N?"

We turned and started walking out, him still in silence.

Once we got back...uh, into the main base, he paused and grinned.  "I think I've got a good idea...."
