Background Information:
Marieke is the daughter of Hecate, the Goddess of Witchcraft, Crossroads, and Necromancy. Her father is named Simon Herondale which his line comes from Shadowhunters, meaning Marieke is one of them. She never really knew about being a shadowhunter but she was aware of her being a demigod, having been going there since she was 12 and participated in both the Giant and Titan wars. She is one of the most powerful witches that ever really been known, having been on the heroes side of the wars. She is also the head of Hecate Cabin, more or so that advisor of all the witches. As an adult she began to experience more of the Shadow world, thinking it was just the mist and she'll have some intriguing adventures with the New York Institute, becoming one of the top Shadowhunters

Luke Castellan: Considering she lived in his cabin and they were around the same age, Marieke began a deep relationship with Luke beginning things as intimate, they would confide in each other if there was something off with either of them. It's because of this that when Luke turner traitor, he asked Marieke to join him however she said no. It seemed like they truly at feelings for each other until the end, when Luke dies.

Zoe Nightshade: It seems like a pattern where Marieke falls for those who will die, having a crush on the one and only Zoe Nightshade, The Lieutenant of Artemis. They got along pretty well, having become attached to one another, Zoe asked Marieke to join the hunters actually but the daughter of Hecate refused. She wanted to find love of her own accord without swearing off love completely, even if it meant she couldn't be with the one she loves. She knew that she couldn't be with the other so she just simply gave up on pursuing her, getting even more sad when Zoe had died.
