welcome to bottomfeeders, new inmates!

bottomfeeders is a newly conceptualized graphic contest hosted by three editors: serayume, jaehansss_, and suwubins, based off of the movie the platform!

here's how it will work. there will be three cycles (rounds, so to speak) where thirteen contestants are slowly eliminated four at a time.

start - thirteen contestants
after cycle one - nine contestants
after cycle two - five contestants
after cycle three - one contestant
end - winners

sounds simple, doesn't it?

the thing is, this isn't a normal graphic contest. it's a lot trickier than that.

the platform is a movie about a prison that holds its inmates in vertical cells, with a hole in the middle of the room where food is slowly brought down to each level after a short interval of time. on level one, the inmates get the best food—completely untouched and table-full. on level two, the inmates get the same table of food, so in a sense, they have to eat level one's leftovers. as the platform slowly goes down from level to level, the food becomes scarcer and scarcer, until the lower levels no longer have anything to eat, having to resort to killing each other to survive.

here, the concept is similar; only, there is no murder or starvation to speak of :D

in the platform, there is a time interval when the inmate has to stay on their level until they are all eventually knocked out with sleeping gas and relocated to their next one, which they can only hope is a higher level. it is all random. likewise, we will be assigning the contestants from levels one to thirteen using a random number generator, in a fight for resources.

to make things clearer, here's an example.

cycle one will require you to make a model-based graphic. we will be providing thirteen models to choose from, which contestants are required to use in their graphic. the contestant assigned to level one will have the first pick. afterward, level two will be given the chance to pick theirs, then level three, then level four—all the way to level thirteen, who will not be able to choose, as there are only thirteen models and there will only be one left available. the prompts each cycle will vary.
