IBIS PAINT TUTORIAL

( four square part 1 )

BEFORE WE BEGIN!!!!!!!!

So today I'll be showing how to make this cover

While extremely time consuming, is fun to make. For this cover you'll need to make 4 separate covers. It can be of any kind. For this tutorial I'll be showing how I made the Sana cover (the girl for those who dont know kpop) and then I'll also you how to make the cover as a whole.

STEP ONE. Add your background image

STEP TWO. Add your faceclaim. This is optional but you can smudge or blur the skin. I do tend to do this but you dont have to.

STEP THREE. Create a new layer beneath the faceclaim. Use airbrush trapazoid 20%. Choose a color from the background that would blend nicely with the faceclaim as well. Draw around the faceclaim.

STEP FOUR. Create a new layer above the faceclaim and repeat step 3 but on top of the faceclaim.

STEP FIVE. Create a new layer. Use the dip pen bleed and turn the force fade start and end on 100%. Draw small lines on the edge of the faceclaim. For these covers I only did 2 - 4 small lines. Use the blur option to blur the lines then put the layer on overlay.

STEP SIX. Create a new layer. Choose a color and draw in half circles using the pen fade.

STEP SEVEN. Create a new layer. Choose a lighter version of the color you picked from the last step. Draw in and even smaller half circle, blur it and set it on add or overlay.

(I will say normally I do more with the eyes but for this cover I didn't, I just with a basic editing style for the eyes)

STEP EIGHT. Add highlights and contours. I'll do a tutorial in the future (but just know I'm not the best at doing highlights and stuff so like, you might wanna try to find some other tutorials for this)

STEP NINE. Create a new layer. Now for the hair I actually used a custom brush I downloaded in a pack from YouTube. Which I cannot share. But, there is a similar brush. Find the Hair Dark brush (you'll have to watch an ad to obtain it). Choose the color of the hair. Make sure the force fade is at 100% for start and end. Start with small strokes and draw in the hair. You dont have to get every little spot. This part will take a lot of time, but it will be worth it.

Change the blend mode. Thos part really depends on what color of hair your faceclaim has and what color you picked for the lines and if you want it to become darker or lighter. So really mess around with the blend until you find something you like.

For this particular cover I did pick screen.

STEP TEN. Add a bokeh (I think that's what its called???) texture. Blur it if needed. Change the blend to overlay and change the opacity if needed.

NOTE

And that's where I'm going to stop this tutorial because I can only add like one more image and I need more than that lol.

Part 2 will be up tomorrow sometime.
