This story was created as part of a writing exercise when I was in high school. The point of the experiment was to try and write a book as FAST as possible, then go back and edit later, which was and still is the polar opposite of my usual writing style. To give you a better idea, the story which I am still working on currently (which as of the time I am writing this, is not published anywhere online) has taken me LITERAL YEARS to write, and I'm still not even halfway done. I usually spend a lot of time on world building and character development before I even pick up the pen, and even after that I don't begin to draft my story until I have a fairly decent idea of the plot. But I'm absolutely fascinated with noodling with different styles and techniques (I'm a huge nerd of you couldn't tell 😂) and I was eager to experiment with something new.

Most of this book was written purely by the seat of my pants. I didn't plan stuff at all (well, I planned a few things, but it was more as I built up steam), I just threw stuff down on paper, with the idea that I'd fine tune it later. Wondering what magnium is? Well, I've only got a very vague idea myself, and I'm the author! 😂 Some things were planned though. If there's one thing that really disappoints me, it's that I ran out of steam for this story before I was able to get to the big plot twists. There were several, and they were some doozies. 😂😂😂

As a result of not self-editing along the way, I was able to write A LOT faster, but there's also quite a few instances of plot holes, shallow or unrealistic characterizations, clunky dialogue and even clunkier transitions.

Despite that, I still like the story a lot. I had a lot of fun writing it, especially the segments featuring Thomas, Blaise, and/or Collin. (fun fact: Collin was only supposed to show up in one scene, but I liked the way his character bounced off of Blaise's and Thomas' so much that I promoted him to a main character) And I'm hoping to come back to this story and actually finish writing and editing it... sometime. But for now I'm marking it as discontinued because I see no chance of me getting motivation for it in the near future. I don't want to abandon it forever though. I will come back. Someday.

So I would like to end with a question to anyone who happens to read this. I have some loose, unfinished drafts and notes saved about the characters and where I wanted this story to go. Stuff like the partially written drafts of chapters X through XII (I always write out of order, it's just what I do 😅), silly little headcanons about the Anderssens, bios of characters that don't show up yet, an instructions pamphlet on how to harvest magnium, what small amount of world building stuff I had fleshed out, and of course those plot twists I mentioned earlier.

Here's the question: Would you like me to post those drafts and notes as-is? (They would obviously contain spoilers) Or would you rather I post a bullet point list of where I was planning to go with the plot? Or just leave the story hanging right here until I come back to it again (I don't know how long that will be. It could be years, just a warning.)?

Whichever you decide, I want to thank everyone who read this far! So long! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
