3rd May,

I strolled through the inky darkness of sky freckled with stars.

The air was heavy and still with a pleasant silence.

The night was of a comforting presence.

When I was a kid, I used to think darkness is where

All the the beasts with crooked jaws and pointed canines took shelter.

Darkness hides most of the world

But reveals the world's most beautiful aspects.

I looked up at the sky

The stars seemed to be singing a beautiful song.

Darker the night, the sweeter the song.

The only reason why I want to unravel the darkness is,

That it is all a game.

A game where everyone loses and the only prize is knowing that you fought.

My trail of thoughts were disrupted by a mysterious, cold wind.

It cut through my skin.

The cold that seemed mild at first now numbed my face.

With each gust of wind, breathing became hard.

Then i could feel a welcoming tenderness- a pair of hands hugging me.

Before I could comprehend,

My shoulders sunk below the ground and the moon blotted out.

I felt myself sucked into the darkness.

I felt oppressed by an awful weight.

I felt as if I was drowning from within, gasping for breath.

Only thing that made me believe I was alive was the ground beneath me.

Coughing, I tried to make an effort of forcing air into my lungs

Everything felt restrained.

I was blinded by complete darkness.

It was not like the dying embers but a soft , hopeful darkness.

A whisper rang in my ears,

' This is the secret to make your life less bitter -

This is solitude'
