Damian and Dick stood outside of the front door, staring at the driveway, watching the limo pull up. Bruce stepped out and opened the door on the other side. Alfred went around to the back and opened the trunk, taking out a new wheelchair. He unfolded the chair and put in front of Bruce. The billionaire reached in the car and helped Y/n sit in her chair. She rolled the wheels and turned the chair around. She frowned as she moved to the stairs.

Dick walked down and helped her up the couple of stairs. Her body lurched forward with every bump she had to get over. Damian walked up and grabbed her front wheels pulling her up to the house. They both set her down and Damian went to push her.

"I got it," Y/n snapped. Damian let the handles go and took a couple steps back. She rolled to the other hallway with the elevator and pushed the button to go up. She rolled into the the mini room and went up.

Alfred looked at the group and decided to break the silence by saying dinner would be finished soon. The three men left the room and went their separate ways. Damian thought about the knife.

I should tell her...

Damian hesitantly walked up the stairs. It seemed like an eternity for him. He wondered what she would say, what she would think. Damian stepped on the top stair and paused.

Will she leave me?

He took a deep breath. The young boy wasn't used to these complicated emotions. He remembered when it was simple. They were told what to do and they would do it. When they didn't have a choice. In a way he liked that. But he liked it more because he had a louder say in the matter. His grandfather respected him more than he did her. Even though Ra's did want her to be treated right, he always wanted Damian to be more in charge. After all Damian would be the one to take over. Y/n was just the person to have Damian's heir.

Grandfather wasn't a hero... was he?

Damian walked over to the fancy wooden door. He held his hand up to knock and pressed his fist to the door twice.

"Come in," a voice said from within the room.

Damian walked in and looked around for her. She was in her wheelchair and was looking out the window. She looked so sad.

"Y/n?"

"What do you want?" She did not look back.

"I need to tell you something," Damian told her. Y/n's interest spiked and she turned her chair around.

~~~~
Y/n was shocked at Damian's theory. If it worked, she would be free. Free from all the pain the League caused her.
"What do you think? And why are you telling me this?" She asked. Damian sat on her bed and faced her.
What he thought? He thought a lot of things about it. Which one does he say? The I am just figuring out basic emotions and would like you stay, despite you no longer being forced here. Or the I want you to be happy. Should he ask what she would do if it did? Does he say it doesn't matter to him? That it does? He never really had trouble figuring out what to say. Mostly because he didn't care what the other thought. In the majority of the cases he was right. Now things were different. He was talking about his feelings... to the girl he likes.
Damian froze up. He thought it best just to act like he normally would.
"Well you're always complaining about the damn thing. Thought you would want it off," he crossed his arms and looked away.
Y/n looked at him, then at her lap. Damian was acting weird. He paused for a while. He seemed like he didn't want to go through with it. Y/n pondered over what she would say next.
"Well thank you for being considerate. How shall we begin?"
"Wilson theorized we just had to recite a few words and it should come off," Damian stood up to go get the dagger. "I can go get it now if you'd like." As he walked her hand reached out and grabbed his arm just as he was going to pass her.
"Wait," she spoke softly. "Can we do it tomorrow?" Damian looked at her puzzled. "I've eaten only hospital food for a week and I'm tired." She looked at him and they stared at each other when she smiled slightly. Damian was shocked but he smiled too. Y/n started to turn her wheelchair around when it hit her bed and she got stuck. She sighed and tried to fix it when hands gripped the chair's handles and pulled her out of the spot and walked her to the elevator.
The silence was nice as they waited for the metal doors to open again. Damian pushed her to the dining hall and moved her to the long, clothed table. He sat across from her, but would be next to his father, who is at the head of the table. Dick sat next to Y/n and Alfred said he wasn't hungry at the moment. The dinner was (favorite food that's not junk food sorry). Everything was going well, dinner was almost over when Bruce decided to mention something.
"I will going to Star City, for a couple days on business, tomorrow morning. Alfred will be in charge of you two. Don't go out patrolling, don't mess with the Batcomputer, or anything in the Batcave for that matter," he stood up to go to his room. Damian muttered a 'yes Father' and Y/n nodded. "Y/n in a little bit I would like to talk to you." Y/n was surprised but nodded yes.
When everyone else finished, Dick thanked Alfred and walked to Y/n - who was going to the elevator to find Bruce. He hugged her and she returned it. He put his hands on his hips and smiled.
"Cheer up kid. I know things seem sucky right now but it will get better, promise," he rested his hand on her shoulder. "Which reminds me - wait here." He jogged out the front door and grabbed something from his motorcycle. When he got back his hair was a little damp from the drizzling outside. He held out a small rectangular box wrapped in her favorite colored and a bow. "A present," he explained.
"The occasion?" Y/n raised her eyebrow.
"No occasion. Just saw it and thought you might want it," he smiled.
Y/n slowly unwrapped it, wanting to savor the memory. She never gotten a present before. When she got to the bare box, a picture of a nice smartphone was on the front.
"You got me a phone!" she gasped. "I've never had a phone before. What about the monthly bill?" she looked at him.
"Don't worry about it," Dick winked. "I put my number in there in case you wanna talk."
Y/n smiled brightly. "Thank you!" the two hugged again.
Dick took the box from her. "I'll put it on your dresser for you." Y/n thanked him once more and continued to the elevator.
She found Bruce in his office. She knocked and he allowed her to come in. It was a big room with a very nice desk and other fine office supplies like printers and paper shredders, lamps and computers.
"You wished to speak with me?" Y/n rolled towards him. Bruce sat at the desk and was looking over some paperwork.
"Yes, I would like to talk about your sister." Y/n tensed up. "I would like to make funeral plans for her. May I?"
"Why?"
"I know what it's like to have your family taken from you. And it's the respectful thing to do."
"O-okay."
"I also wanted to talk about the trip to Star City. I am going to meet up with Oliver Queen and his wife, Felicity. Have you heard of them?"
"Yes!" Bruce raised an eyebrow. "I mean, he is an excellent archer."
"You know?"
"His team once infiltrated the League. He got married to Nyssa. I..." Y/n looked at the floor ashamed. "I caught a team member trying to escape and I lead her to an exit."
"Felicity Smoak was paralyzed when they first got engaged," Bruce spoke. Y/n looked at him curiously. "But she was able to stand for their wedding." He stood up and walked over to her, handing her a piece of paper. "All because Curtis Holt, a former employee of Palmer Tech, built a device that enabled her to." Y/n's eyes grew wide. "She is still walking today."
"You mean, I can walk again?" she whispered.
"It is a possibility," Y/n looked at him. "Felicity is the only patient that it has worked on so far. They are still developing it. So I can't guarantee anything."
Tears slipped down her face. "Thank you Mr. Wayne. Thank you for everything."
