Hello, darkness, my old friend...

There was a click. That was it. In the bit of everything else, it was gone just like that.

And I was alone.

I've come to talk with you again...

But there was a mirror. I was staring dead at myself. Only I was... younger... Eons younger. It was me, a few years after I was adopted.

And I was smiling. And I was laughing. And I could hear his laughter, too. We were carefree. There were no threats of my father's "untimely" demise. There was no counsel trying to regulate my father's life.

It was just us. The way it used to be.

Because a vision softly creeping...

My younger-self pressed her hand against the glass, smiling up at me.

I gently put my hand on the same spot. She just smiled brighter and giggled at me. "When I grow up, I wanna be just like you, Daddy. I wanna be as tall and big and strong."

I couldn't help but chuckle at her. Amazing what my logic was all those years ago.

But then her smile faded. "Daddy? Where are you?"

Her hand dropped to her side and the glass cracked, making me pull my hand back.

I could barely see tears running down her face in the broken reflection. "I'm sorry, Daddy. I didn't mean to..." She broke into a sob and the pieces fell to the floor.

Left its seeds while I was sleeping,

That was when the whispering started. I thought I saw a femme. She was just taller than me, but she floated high above the ground. She was just staring.

I didn't know if I should approach her. She looked angry. Almost sparkless.

She spoke only five words, but they were in a whisper that was louder than the others. "You'll never get him back. He belongs to me. He is my slave."

And the vision that was planted in my brain

She pointed to me, and I heard heavy footsteps behind me. The fly of a blade.

A deep voice that I haven't heard in so long. "Forgive me."

I turned around, and all I saw was the bright purple optics he had before the sword was struck down.

Still remains

I shot up in my bed, breathing heavy as I glanced around.

The door to my room was cracked open, Mini-Grim was sound asleep at the foot of my bed, barely holding up the blankets that were pushed onto the floor.

"Rya,"

My head whipped around to look out the window. A pair of bright blue optics were looking in at me, looking slightly exhausted.

Crosshairs.

"You alright?"

I was about to speak when I felt my gut turn. I tried to swallow what I felt coming up, but I failed miserably. I hung my head over the edge of the bed and crammed my eyes shut. I knew what exactly was going on. I was trying to puke, but there was nothing to release since I don't eat.

I heard Crosshairs cuss and call out for Cade a couple of times before the door actually flew open, next thing I knew he had a trash can over where I had attempted to hurl.

It hurt. A lot. I waited for the pain subside before actually moving. Cade stared at me for a second before wiping my face with a wash cloth. I could see the glowing blue liquid on the cloth when he pulled it back.

I started crying. I had finally had enough.

Cade pulled me in close, it was closest I would get to some kind of comfort.

The thought of it practically broke my spark.

"I want Daddy,"

"I know you do."

Within the sound of silence
