Contest entry! This is for Moonshade_The_Hybrid 's contest, I made a short story that WILL NOT HAPPEN IN THE BOOKS, THIS IS NOT REAL, CHARACTERS ARE MOONSHADES NOT MINE!!!! Anyway, I hope you like it!

So the story is that they met in the town of Promise, not knowing anything about the outside world, they have no idea where Jade Academy is, so they start searching, they decide to go to their homes to look, Vapor insists that Moonshade goes first, so they go too the Ice Kingdom, but are chased because they are recognized as hybrids, they fly into Sabertooth Cavern and Vapor convinces Moonshade that he really doesn't want the life of a Hybrid, so he asks her to make him a Rainwing disguise so that he can go back to his home and live in peace

"Are you sure? I've never tried this before, what if it hurts you? What if you can never change back?" Moonshade said frantically, looking at her only friend since leaving the cave where she had been forced to live.

"Shade, trust me, I really want this, I'm tired of being chased and singled out from everyone else, dragons look at me like I'm an overgrown lizard! If you do this for me...I could have a normal life, and if I can't change back, then so be it, I'll live my life as the average Rainwing, and that's that" Vapor said sternly, tilting her head up, confidence filling her gaze "Besides, I trust you"

Moonshade looked away, then gave a small nod "I won't go against your wishes" she whispered, turning back to her companion, she raised her wings until the tips brushed the ceiling of the icy cave, and opened her jaws, breathing out gently, covering Vapor in a warm shimmering light, it didn't hurt, it wrapped around Vapor, as if comforting her and telling her it's going to be ok.

Vapor's gills melted into her and her light scales, which were shining brightly in anticipation, dulled until they faded into the rest of her scales, her Skywing body became a little more lithe and whip like and her tail curled even more then it already did, the wavy Skywing horns that she felt never belonged to her in the first place, straightened and became a Rainwings and last of all, her fangs grew longer, and gained the ability to fold back against the roof of her mouth.

"How do you feel?" Moonshade said concernedly

"I-I feel amazing" Vapor looked around as if she expected to see her glowing scales, but there was nothing there, she reached up a talon to feel her horns, and looked at her tail "It worked" she said, trying to flare her gills happily before remembering that she had none "I can go to the rainforest and they won't know the difference" she let it sink in, flapping her wings and spinning around, nearly hitting her head on a stalagmite.

"That, that's great Vapor, go, go back home, it was really nice knowing you" Moonshade said, hanging her head.

"But, but wait, you can come with me, do the same and live as a Nightwing in the village, we can see each other and live happily with no danger!" Vapor said, shaking her head.

"No, no Vapor, I don't know what I would do without my Icewing abilities, they've always been a part of me, I can't let that go" Moonshade said sadly "Go, live your happy life, your a Rainwing now"

"I-I- Thank you, you've changed my entire life for the better, goodbye fellow hybrid, may we meet in the skies, on earth, or after life is done, I will not forget you" Vapor said, before she turned, spread her Rainwing wings, and flew off towards a new horizon.

A new life.
