I Give Up

It all happened one day during our third summer in Gravity Falls. There was no warning, nor was there a disturbance of his show up.

I had no idea that my life would change so drastically because of this person.

One by one he took away my friends and made them his own. He was noticed by all and loved. He was everything they ever wanted from him to be.

I could hardly stand on his level and the down put given to me by my friends put pressure on me. I couldn't speak for myself anymore, so I became mute. I became lonely.

My friends started to ignore me or do mean things to me. Day after day it was something new, like one of them ripping away the pages of my journal one by one and throwing it away. My family would glare or push me aside of their affection and love I needed.

The was only one person who didn't push me away or pressure me. He was kind, but very timid, it was okay though because he showed he care so I wanted to keep him safe.

+

I believed for a long time that my friends would come back to me and notice how I was. After all...

I trust them.

Time and time again I'm treated with neglect. Everyday is a new round like a barrel of a gun, once you shoot five bullets your given a new set to use. The target was of course myself, more specifically my heart.

Every shot wounded me highly, but I stood back up because I kept my hope high.

One by one would they would take turns. I didn't mind, I believe in them. I will hold onto that spider thread that was given to me since the beginning.

I never understood the thread at first when it appeared to me one summer ago. I kept a tight grip on as if my life depended on it. I couldn't let go, not until I feel tired of it.

I also kept a special present that was given to me on my thirteenth birthday after I arrived at home that first summer of a Gravity Fall experience.

There was a bear sitting on my bed with a black ribbon bow tie around its neck. I didn't ask my parents who it was from or ponder why it was in my room.

I kept the bear because I felt like I needed it. It felt like a part of me anyways.

+

I found myself fixing my own things with a simple sewing needle from time to time. Ripped clothes had become uncommon to common for me. I once found my precious bear all ripped or dismembered.

I found myself with a needle and thread in my hands. I stitched up my bear and patched up my clothes.

The person who had come with him had been kind enough to teach me secretly to sew. He was very nice and I wanted him to never get hurt because of me. So I try my best to not interact with this good person so much.

He doesn't deserve to get any harsh treatment because of me.

+

One day, one day I kept repeating to myself like a mantra. I watch them, but I do not bug them for they will scorn at me.

He was doing well with everyone like always. I never did join their group of laughter or fun. I just watched from a safe distance.

Any party or fun matters, I could not participate. No one invited me as well as give me a glance.

I held up a mask with a fake smiles to hold my hopes up. To keep my trust up.

A reason I didn't know, was my grip slightly slipping from my spider thread. I fixed my grip and smiled once more in my empty lone room.

Patients is all I could need at the moment.

+

I was walking back to my room, with my bear in hand, when I overheard talking coming from the living room. There was the voices of my family and friends.

"He needs to go."

"He isn't wanted."

"He shouldn't even be here."

"Dipper Pines should disappear."

I softly smiled to myself and continued to walk to my room. I knew from the start I was never wanted ever since he came into our dimension.

I knew from the start, but kept false hope that they would return to me.

I quietly turned around, away from my room, walked out of the shack and headed into the woods. I found the largest Pine Tree with its trunk hole open just for me. I got on my knees and crawled inside to get away from the world. I hugged my legs to my chest and crossed my arms on top of them.

For the first time in forever I cried my aching heart out.

+

All my chains were crushed after that day.

My connection with every one of them disintegrated into thin air.

I lost a friend and brother figure who could fix anything.

I lost a red head who was a dear friend.

I lost a enemy who used to hate me.

I lost a girl who could have loved me.

I lost a sister who would help and stand up for me.

I lost a Grunkle who would try to make me stronger.

I lost a Great Uncle who would have taught me so many ways to solve mysteries.

I lost an enemy.... I lost a joker who had loved me.

I have nothing and everyday passing I slightly slip on my spider thread holding me up. I have lost even more friends than that, but I don't bother bring them up.

Never did I bother again to fix my grip on it to keep me from falling.

+

Little days passed nearing the end summer and I began my big surprise that would make everyone happy. No one knows about it except me. They'll be happy... I promise.

+ Gravity Falls: Mystery Shack+

Dipper walked over to Will and tugged on his sleeve gently to get the blue humanoid demon's attention.

"Yes PineTree?" Will asked slightly looking down at the young boy of 14 years of age.

The boy slowly opened Will's hand and placed a sweet wrapped candy on it. The demon smiled and patted him on he head. "Thank you." That earned him a bright smile from the young brunet that made his heart melt.

Then a clear of a throat caught their attention. The two saw Bill from across the hall glaring only at Dipper. The boy just smiled fakery like he does with the others except Will. Dipper walked away like Bill wasn't glaring daggers at him.

"Will." Bill called his brother's name.

"Y-Yes brother." Will answered.

"Don't get involved with him, he's a pest that shouldn't be here, he's merely trash." Bill told his blue brother.

Will didn't say anything, but gave a reluctant silent nod. Both of them walked away from where they talked, unaware of the boy who was still there listening.

Dipper held his bear close to his chest and smiled while a single tear fell from his eye. 'They'll be happy.' He thought and walked out of the house.

The boy had receded into a building in town. A lone music store that had sound proof rooms and other sets of equipment.

"Ah, little one, welcome back~" A woman and greeted next to a man at the register.

Dipper nodded his head at them and continued forward to his usual sound proof room.

The woman and man sadly smiling the further he got to look for his room. He had come one day to their lonely shop and brought smiles. They felt some were fake, but most were real.

Dipper eventually found his usual sound proof room where all his usual equipment was. He went inside and locked the door. The boy grabbed the head phones over his ears and placed the mic near him.

His bear sat on his lap silently like always.

+Day of Mabel and Dipper's birthday+

Dipper was up in his room wrapping up a small present in light blue paper. It was simple enough to give for it not to be noticed.

He got out of his seat and ran downstairs without making too much noise. He looked around and noticed mostly his friends and family were speaking in the living room or the kitchen.

Will just on cue walked out from the kitchen with a tray of snacks. Dipper went over to him and quickly gave him a little boxed present. Before Will could even ask him what it was for the brunet rushed back upstairs as the sound of footsteps coming near. Will hid the present in his pocket of his tailcoat.

"Will! All of us are going out for my birthday!" Mabel exclaimed with a grin, next to her was Will's Master. Tyrone 'Dipper' Gleeful.

The blue demon mentally frowned knowing that by 'All of us' meant everyone, but Dipper. "Mhm, okay Shooting Star." He left with a bad feeling in his mouth.

Meanwhile Dipper was upstairs sewing up another tear on his bear. Then he pulled out a small knife from his sewing kit and proceeded to slice the stomach of his bear open. He pulled out a cased disc from his pocket and slipped it into the opening stuff bear.

He picked up his needle and thread again. Sewing close the opening that he created with a smile on his lips.

The boy closed it up and picked up scissors to cut off the rest of the thread. Opening and closing did his scissors go before cutting off the thread that held everything together.

He put everything away under his bed once he was done, except for his bear, needle and threads, and his scissors. Dipper got up from the floor and looked out the window where everyone was, it turns out that they had been setting up a surprise party for his sister all along. They wanted to surprise her once she got out of the house.

The boy laughed a bit before going out of his room and downstairs. He opened the back door of the shack quietly and ran into the woods.

Surprisingly, he didn't mean to find himself bumping into the last person he would ever want to encounter again. He had always stayed away from him, but now it seems he accidentally crossed paths.

"Dominic..."

Dipper nodded and gave the boy a fake smile like he always did with the others.

"What a fake smile. Why are you showing it to me?"

The brunet kept smiling fakery at his reverse self even if did feel a pang of hurt. Someone had seen passed his mask.

"It doesn't suit you Dominic." Tyrone got closer to Dominic and held the other's hand. "What's wrong?"

Dipper wanted to cry at first, but held it back, it has been so long since anyone has asked him that. He still had a plan to do to make everyone happy. So he shook his head and pulled his self away from Tyrone. He let go of his mask for a second and gave Tyrone a real smile that had sent him into a slight stun moment, before quickly covering it up to hide his crying inside.

Tyrone tried to pull him back, but Dipper had already slipped passed his loosened grip and sprinted deeper into the forest, the brunet losing sight of the hurt brunet.

Ever so slowly did his grip on the spider thread slip to its end.

+A week later+

A week had passed and no one, but Will and Tyrone, noticed Dipper gone. It worried them both of what had become of the boy. They hope he was safe.

Sadly that was not the case when the doorbell of the shack was rung one time. I sent a solemn feeling down people's being.

Will opened the door and was found with the sight of what use to be Dipper Pines.

The boy was like a broken doll that was patched up and stitched all over to fix. Familiar cross stitches were bare on his arms and legs with dried up or fresh of blood. Even his face carried a stitch of two or three. He hands were stitched up to hold the bear to in his lap. He was broken indeed, not a single breath left the boy's mouth, nor did his chest rise and fall.

Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland had solemn expressions on their faces.

Deputy Durland handed the child's body to Will carefully and sadly. "We found him just like this on the outskirts of town."

"We sorry for your loss, you have our condolences Will sir." Sheriff Blubs told the blue demon.

The officers left quietly back to their car and back into town.

Will on the other hand had tears streaming down his face. His loud cries getting the attention of everyone in the house. They came down to see what had happened and were surprised to find Dipper all bloodied and stitched up.

Tyrone even wide eyes when he saw his opposite. He went over to the crying Will and looked at Dipper's form. "Dominic!" He tried to wake up the boy. "Dominic..."

"Don't Master... H-He's dead..." Will sadly tells him the news.

Tyrone took a minute to process what the dream demon said to him. "..."

Everyone else stayed quiet too at the words.

The counterpart moved his hand to trace Dipper's sewn up cheek. Down and down until he touched the bear. His finger hit a hard spot somewhere around the bear's stomach. "Will, give me a small knife." He ordered.

Without any questions Will conjured one up for Tyrone.

The teen took the small knife and cut open the stomach of the bear. His fingers prodded around until they touched something plastic. He pulled it out and found a disc. Tyrone stood up and walked to the living room and put in the disc.

Everyone had followed him into the living room and watched the screen. Will had set Dipper on the armchair gently and kept his hand on the boy's shoulder.

The scene had Dipper hugging his bear and smiling at the camera. He opened his mouth and words were sung.

To father, mother dear, I'm sorry for what I've done
My legs are trembling as I stand and suck on my thumb
To brother, sister dear, I guess that this is the end
With broken shoes in hand, I'll never turn back again, yeah!

The scene changed and Dipper was now in his room sewing away at his bear with patches while a down stairs scene showed his family and friends crowding around Tyrone and talking. Then a pair of scissors cut at the scene and shows Dipper holding up a smiling theater mask to cover half his face while tears stream down his visible eye.

I found a better piece of pattern paper to use
Even if the old was fine, I'll start over all anew
Oh what's it like to be so loved, as I grapple for
Scissors sharp enough and large enough to cut this face I abhor

A closed up scene opened with cross stitches where Dipper is holding his head crying and another version of him smiling fakery.

Hey did you hear them, words of wisdom, because God has said it so
But where's my mind gone, this is all wrong, why not, I don't know
Although it's painful as I disdainfully hold the future that I sewed
I pull the string along the seam until the gap is closed

The scene closes with the seams stitching up the gap that showed Dipper. Standing in a classroom Dipper places red and blue balloons on chairs lined up behind him. Smiling happily he danced around with his stuffed bear.

Goodbye to everyone, I hope that teacher is well
A drop falls from my mouth and suddenly everything swells

Dipper holds up a sewing needle high up before bring it down on the balloons to pop them one by one. Smiling and crying at the same time.

Look straight ahead and tell me what you see
Do you really think that that is what you see?
Look straight ahead and tell me what you see
Your perfect world don't give a fuck for me

Ahh, it's not enough, I cry as I fumble for
Needles long enough and strong enough to pierce this heart to the core
Hey did you hear them, words of wisdom, because God has said it so
But where's my mind gone, this is all wrong, why not, I don't know
Although it's painful as I disdainfully hold the future that I sewed
I pull the string along the seam until the gap is closed

A scene showed him holding up another needle with red thread and piercing his skin. Then a hidden scene of every one of them, but the Tyrone and Will, doing something. Ripping up Dipper's journal, throwing away items somewhere in the trash.

There's nothing to see here, nothing to see here, I have torn it all apart
Trapped in a sea of needles and strings laced through my flesh and heart
But I will not let you, I will not let you toss me to the side like trash
'Cause there's no way, no matter what, I'm ever going back

Tyrone was even it by smiling in the room while Dipper sat in the corner watching all of them. Scissors cutting the scene into little pieces like dust and blown away only to land into Dipper's hand and form a picture of all of them together. Only his face was marketed out. He took the picture in both of his hands and ripped it into two watching it fall to the ground.

Hey who am I, ah, shut up, you are full of bullshit and I know
I'm ready to give up, I've had enough, so just let me go
Don't you want to change, don't you hate this pain, have nothing to say, is this a joke?
I've pulled a thousand strings but every single one has broke

A clock spines round and round until both ends reach twelve. Dipper is back on screen with his bare back to the screen with stitches running up and down his sides. Fresh blood dripping as he turns around and smiles. His bear in hand and he continues to puncture the bear with his needles.

Every scene that was in the video flashed on screen and ended up in Dipper's room. Waving at them with a smile that wasn't fake. The screen changes to a line of thread that is severely cut by scissors. Then chains one after another snap and break away on a heart that used to be wrapped up.

If I could burn away, if I could light up the fuse
Doesn't matter who I'll be, I'll start over all anew.

Dipper hugged his bear and walked out the door of his room. The room empty even though it had things to occupy it. Now only a lonely feeling covered it. A small note was the zoom in focus of the camera. Reading- "Are you Happy now?"

Will broke down crying loudly for everyone to hear. He grasp the present that was given to him on the day of Dipper's birthday from him.

Tyrone stood up with a angered look on his face. "You're all monsters!" He exclaimed in rage.

They didn't care, neither of them did, but just Will and Tyrone.

"Who cares he isn't worth it anyways." Pacifica says waving her hand.

Tyrone walked right up to her and slapped her hard on the face that she fell off her chair.

"What she's saying is true you know, you shouldn't have slapped her. He was just a pathetic puppet that did it job. Now it's a useless toy nobody wants. Good riddance." Bill says with every word puncturing Will.

For the first time the blue demon went made at his brother. He stood up and turned red and rushed to his twin to punch him straight on the jaw. "YOU IDOT! I HATE YOU SO MUCH BILL!!!" Will practically screamed at the yellow demon. "BECAUSE OF YOU AND EVERYONE HERE, HE'S DEAD, HE WAS JUST AN INNOCENT KID!"

Bill glared at his brother. "Please, innocent? You don't know-"

Will punched his twin again to stop him from speaking any further. "I'M LEAVING AND TAKING PINETREE WITH ME!" The demon picked up the body of the dead brunet boy gently may it be he is still filled with anger.

"I'm leaving with you Will, I can't stand anymore of these people."

"Hey you can't just take Dipper!" Mabel shouted at them. Will turned to her with a scary looking expression that made her cower back. "Okay you can have him!" She squeaked.

"You even favor your own life than to get him back." Will says in a dark tone. The family and friends were silent once more as the two left the room.

Tyrone and Will walked out of the house leaving with the broken being called Dipper Pines.
