Foxpaw POV

"I'm so excited!" Foxpaw was jumping around.

"I know." Flypounce purred as they headed towards their training spot.

Foxpaw was so excited to finally train under a Warrior, a proper Warrior! Flypounce had so much experience and talent and she was so calm!

Foxpaw admired her and was very pleased to hear that her Mentor would be Flypounce.

"Here we are." Flypounce stated as she stopped.

Foxpaw looked around. They were surrounded by trees and hanging vines. The edges were marked by small piles of pebbles and twigs.

"Woah.." Foxpaw gasped.

"You like it?" Flypounce asked.

Foxpaw nodded, looking up at her vacant eyes.

"Stand in front of me." Flypounce instructed.

"Oh- Alright!" Foxpaw did as she was told, tail flicking side to side.

"Now. I want you to attack me."

"Huh? Are you sure?" Foxpaw asked.

"Yes."

Foxpaw looked around before running and jumping at Flypounce who easily batted her away with her paw.

Foxpaw stumbled around, landing on her feet.

"Now Foxpaw, let me teach you something valuable." Flypounce turned to her,"In the heat of battle, anything can be taken from you."

"Anything?"

"Anything. Your eyes, your hearing... You must be able to adapt to suit your environment or opponent." Flypounce explained,"I may be unable to see but my hearing is as good as ever."

"So... I should be really quiet if I'm against you!" Foxpaw nodded quickly.

"Exactly." Flypounce smiled,"That is my mission, to help you adapt to anything."

"Teach me everything!" Foxpaw pleaded,"I want to be the best Warrior ever!"

Flypounce chuckled,"Yes, I will try."

Fawnpaw POV

Fawnpaw was sat pawing at the grass as Rainpaw blathered on about something or other.

"Fawnpaw! Are you listening to me?" Rainpaw questioned.

"Mhm." Fawnpaw nodded.

"You haven't even touched your chaffinch." Rainpaw pointed out,"You caught that, you should be proud!"

"It was a fluke." Fawnpaw sighed,"I just got lucky."

"This again?" Rainpaw rolled his eyes,"You're talented, okay?"

"Okay, okay." Fawnpaw nodded.

"Now that we've settled this, I can go back to telling you about my training!" Rainpaw smiled.

"Sounds good to me.." Fawnpaw nodded absentmindedly as she looked down at her chaffinch.

Talented? Surely Rainpaw was just saying that to make her feel better.
