The whole clan was relieved to have Brooklyn healing well, and had helped him during his next two weeks of healing and trauma.

Brooklyn himself could slowly feel like his old self again, sitting out of his room more with his family, and smiling once again.

He still had small nightmares once in a while, but Hudson, Goliath, and Elisa were there to calm him down. Brooklyn kept his blanket nearby. He didn't really need it much anymore now that his trauma had toned down, but he still wouldn't give it away. It had comforted him whenever Hudson or Elisa weren't there during his worst time in recovering.

Thankfully, now that Thailog was dead and his men were in jail, he didn't need to fear about being taken away anymore.

Goliath himself was proud of his Second starting to overcome from what Thailog had done. He and Brooklyn one night had a small conversation with one another before turning to stone, and after Goliath asked Dr. Sato about his recovery.

Brooklyn continued to do his best to ignore Thailog's image in his head as Goliath spoke.

"Sato says that soon you can see be allowed to go out into the city again, since your appetite is close to being back to normal now after your second operation," he told the red gargoyle, who smiled in relief.

"I'm glad. And... thanks for being there for me, Goliath. Again, I'm sorry that I've been afraid of you like that," he said in a small, guilty voice. Goliath put a hand on his shoulder.

"You still don't need to apologize, since I've already forgiven you, Brooklyn. That was all Thailog's doing to put it in your head, but I'm happy you've been able to overcome it."

Brook just continued to smile, happy that he had his connection with Goliath back to the way it was, and happy that Thailog was gone from his life for good. He didn't think he could've survived much longer if he was still his captive. Despite Thailog being Goliath's son, Brooklyn knew the clone had to be killed, for the sake of his clan and for his own sanity. Brooklyn would have lost his stable mentality forever if his clan hadn't found him on time. And he knew what they would have done to Lexington too.

Eventually, Hudson and the others joined Goliath and Brooklyn, sitting on the couch, and doing a small family hug together with Brooklyn in the center of it. He closed his eyes, happy tears coming, grateful to be at home again with his clan and family, and even thanking Puck for helping to find him.

Brooklyn was also looking forward to going out to rock concerts and movies again out in the city with his brothers and turning to stone on the balcony once more with them, aside from the patrols returning sooner or later.

....

Three weeks later, Brooklyn finally felt he was well enough to go out into the city again. Goliath had seen his progress, as had Dr. Sato and everyone else. The Second was growing restless being here in the castle. He was ready to go out and stop bad guys from doing to others what had been done to him.

After Sato's say so, Goliath finally allowed Brooklyn to come out on patrol with the clan again.

"Just remember, Brooklyn, that what you deal with out there, that the humans you deal with are not the ones who were hurting you." Goliath said. He had Brooklyn out with him tonight. It was Brooklyn's first patrol in over five months.

"I know, Goliath. I'll take whatever comes at me. I'll do what I have to do to stop bad guys from hurting the innocent." Brooklyn replied.

Goliath smiled. He was glad he had his Second back with him.

It was a beautiful summer night. The wind felt good under Brooklyn's wings and through his hair. He also kept an eye on his right wing, as that one had been the broken one before. Its muscles seem strengthened by now. He was able to glide a good distance now without his wing cramping up too much.

Brooklyn had been somewhat glad to be able to see the sun too, thanks to Thailog's spell, but just not under what he had to go through with the evil clone. After all the injuries that he had faced, he was more than glad though to have his ability to turn to stone back. It had greatly helped heal even his broken arm, what left that had needed healing anyway.

Tonight had been a rather quiet night. It was rare for the gargoyles to not encounter many robbers or burglars on the streets. And there were still lots of street gangs that lived to cause trouble for the innocent ones on the street.

When they returned to the castle, and they left to go do their own things, when the clan returned, they all had a big family dinner, and then, Broadway and Lex wanted to celebrate with Brooklyn down at the movies, that he was now part of their patrols again. Brooklyn gladly accepted.

Angela kissed Broadway goodbye before they left. She was going to read a book that she had gotten into while he was gone. She also hugged Brooklyn, saying she was happy that he was all better.

The red male couldn't have been happier to hear it. But it still made him long to have a female hugging and kissing him like how he wished it could be, in a lover's way. Someday.

....

The trio enjoyed their time at the movies, returning to the castle just before sunrise. Brooklyn was getting ready to turn to stone with the rest of them after thanking his brothers for a great time there.

He sat on the balcony in between Hudson and Goliath, looking out over the city, now seeing what a beautiful city it was. Brooklyn missed this view, sighing from the warm summer breeze blowing in his face.

Hudson turned to Brooklyn with a smile. "We're happy to have yeh back out here with us, Lad," he said. The red gargoyle smiled back at the old one.

"I am too. It's great to have a family like you guys," he stated, feeling peace in his heart once more after so long. This caused Lex, Broadway and Angela to all have happy tears from his compliment, happy that their brother and Second was basically back to his old self again.

Brooklyn knew that occasionally there would be small bad memories of his experience with Thailog, but he would overcome those too.

Goliath gave a nod to Brooklyn, and then the clan all turned to stone as the sun finally came up over the horizon.
