The next evening, Brooklyn still hadn't returned, worrying the clan and Elisa all the more. Elisa had tried finding Brooklyn for herself, so she could bring him back while stone, but nothing. She had had a trailer hooked up to a rental car should she had found him.

...

Goliath paced, the others looking worried, Angela holding Broadway's arm.

Then the TV began to turn on, and to everybody's shock, Brooklyn was there on the screen, chained and looking scared. But next to him...

...

Brooklyn shivered, while Thailog set up the communicator, wondering how his clan would react seeing him this way.

"Now, you'd better not say anything, and let me do the talking," Thailog growled dangerously. Brooklyn kept silent, looking downward.

The red gargoyle gave a small smile at the sight of his family on the screen, but they all looked terrified.

"I know you've all been worried for little Brooklyn here. Well, here he is alive, at the moment," taunted Thailog, showing himself.

Goliath growled. "Thailog! Why have you taken him?" he roared.

"Just getting to that. I want to be the next leader, 'Father.' I'm your son, aren't I?" Thailog asked, sending hot fury through Goliath's blood, who didn't think his own 'son' could do something as low as kidnapping.

"No, this isn't the way, Thailog! Just give Brooklyn back to us!" shouted Goliath. Thailog's eyes glinted.

"Perhaps I haven't made my demands clear," he said, pressing a button on a remote, and Brooklyn screamed again. Lex couldn't stand it, tears coming out seeing his brother in pain.

"Please! Stop hurting him!" he begged, eyes glowing with hatred at Thailog. Angela was crying, too.

"I'd reconsider my proposal if I was you, Goliath, should you ever want to see him alive again," Thailog said cruelly, stopping the tazing, leaving Brooklyn limp in his shackles, but had enough strength to speak.

"G-Goliath, don't, not for m-me," he mumbled hoarsely, now knowing what Thailog's game was.

Goliath bared his teeth. "We will find you, Thailog, and you will pay!" he shouted. Thailog folded his arms.

"Good luck, 'Father.' I know I said I didn't want to be in your clan, but I just thought of possibilities with that position. I can do what I want, and make the humans fear and respect our kind. Well, farewell," he said, shutting off the communicator. He didn't even tell them where he was keeping Brooklyn.

Lex was in utter rage, almost as mad when the Pack had betrayed him, and was on his way to the entrance of the Eyrie Building.

"Lex, where are you going?" Broadway asked.

"Where else, to get Brooklyn back!" Lex proclaimed, folding his arms. But Hudson shook his head.

"No, you know what Thailog is capable of, lad. He didn't even tell us where he was holding Brooklyn, we wouldn't know where to look!"

Owen stepped in. "Did I hear Brooklyn was taken? I can offer assistance," he said, since he was Puck.

Goliath sighed. "Do what you have to do, we need him back," he said sadly.

Owen nodded, turning into Puck. "It will require quite a bit of research and magic, but I'll see what I can do."
