The girl stared out the window as the seven young men were led into the palace. "I don't know why you're so nervous, my lady," the girl said. "They all look nice."

"Looks can be deceiving," the lady replied quietly. "I should know," she added. The lady turned to her bed, where a long dress was laying. It was beautiful, and she was surprised that this was the dress the king had chosen for her. She thought it would be showy and make her feel disgusting. But it wasn't.

The lady picked up the dress. "Can you help me get this on, May?" She asked the girl.

"Of course, my princess." May moved away from the window and walked up to Juliet to help her.

"William," the woman said, stepping closer to her husband. "Please let her find someone she really cares for."

"I will, as long as he's the one I want for her," he said, pulling on the jacket of his suit. He turned to his wife. "Don't drink tonight." He warned her. "I don't want any news reports of you doing something idiotic while drunk."

She nodded. "Fine. But let her run this Selection how she wants. Please."

He rolled his eyes. "No. She isn't capable of doing it all on her own."

"Yes, she is. You just—" she was cut off by her husband.

"No, she's not," he snapped. "She isn't capable of running a country, either. She can't do it on her own. I'll help her."

"Help her? You're not helping her." The wife shook her head.

"Yes I am. Now, that's enough. Go get ready." He ordered the woman. She opened her mouth to argue, but one glare from the man made her shut it and walk out of the room.

The Selected were given their makeovers and prepared for the first dinner. They were all outside the dining room, but moments later, the doors opened to reveal the three royals. None of them were smiling.

"You may talk and move around the room as you please," the king announced. "Help yourselves to food and drinks." He gestured to the food and drinks tables on either sides of the room. "And feel free to introduce yourselves to myself and my family."

He nodded to them. "Have fun," he said before turning to his wife, silently dismissing the Selected to do what they wished.

Juliet moved away from her parents and the Selected toward the food table.

Let the games begin.

(Alright! Here we go. Make your own chains. lesarbres 's character will be at the party if you wish to roleplay with the guard. You are required to speak to to the princess and at least one other Selected [that's not too hard. There's only 7 of you].
This will be open for quite a while. Have fun!)
