CHAPTER 16: FERVOR GLOW
_______________________________________________________________________________________

THIRD POV
WAKING UP SEEMED so much more painful when you felt all the pain and soreness in your body. And Kasai was exactly in that situation. Aware and conscious of where she was, the Todoroki didn't want to get up. The hospital bed felt like a cloud under her pained body, the sheets were cool and silky - just the sensation she needed after receiving burns.

However, waking up wasn't something she willingly chose. No, she woke up to the sounds of chatter. People were talking around her. So, keeping her eyes closed and breathing softly, she listens in trying to find out who's talking.

"How long did ya say she was gonna be out," Kasai immediately pinpointed the voice to Mina. The girl's diction wasn't always clear.

"She should be waking up about now," Recovery Girl assured.

"Do you think she's taking long to wake up because of the injuries to her head?" That was Ochaco, concerned for others as always.

"Probably. From our spots it didn't look as bad, but now that she's up close, they look rough," Jiro voiced.

"Well, she did put up a good fight against Bakugou. I really thought she was gonna win! Do you think she's gonna be upset that she lost to him? I knew she wanted to win," Mina questions them.

"I don't think so, ribbit. They are friends after all," Tsuyu speaks up.

Mina laughs. "What if I told you something different," she muses.

Kasai's heart stutters at that. She's aware that Mina sees something between her and Bakugou, like feelings. The girl mentally rolls her eyes at the assumption, but still, she doesn't want the others to know about it.

So, begrudgingly, the pale girl opens her eyes and immediately frowns at the brightness.

"Is it something about lowering your voice," Kasai dryly quips.

"Kasai! You're awake," Mina, Ochaco, Toru, shout in synch.

Wincing at their loud volume, she groans.

"Are you alright, Todoroki? Does your head still hurt," Momo asks, careful to not speak loudly.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, Yaoyorozu," she smiles before shooting narrowed looks at the other three.

They reply with a meek 'sorry'. With the help of the ravenette, Kasai sits up on the bed, and looks around, noticing that she's in the infirmary. Though, unlike last time, she's the one on the bed. Trying move her arms, the girl winces at the pain. Looking down, she sees that they're freshly wrapped with clean bandages, and even thicker time time. Even her fingers are wrapped.

Definitely pushed myself too far, she grimaces.

"Ah, you're awake now." Recovery Girl speaks up, buying everyone's attention. "When I told you to be considerate of the new level of heat, I wasn't telling you to carelessly use your blue flames. You're lucky you didn't receive more severe damage to your skin. However, using the blue fire with your fresh wounds, you gave yourself some nerve damage - which I healed. Though, you will be extremely sore for the next few days so I suggest you keep your arm movements limited! No carrying excessive weight, no straining activities, even moving your arms should be prohibited."

Kasai blanches at her diagnosis. She really did get lucky. What was she thinking, using blue fire with her freshly attained scars? She wasn't! She was stupid! Blinded by the competition! Now, she's stuck with using no arms for the next few days. How is she supposed to change? To eat? To do her classwork, homework?

Ugh, this sucks, she mentally groans.

She gives a sheepish smile. "Well, I guess that's all my fault. Totally stupid of me to do," she laughs dryly.

Recovery Girl shakes her head. "And that's not all. You received some head damage as well. The crown of your head got cut open by Bakugou's blasts when he slammed you to the ground, along with getting a large bump at the back of your head. Your face also got pretty cut up and burned by his explosions. And let's not forget when he punched you in the stomach - You cracked a few ribs," the old lady informs.

The Todoroki grows even more pale at the conclusion of her damage.

"Whoa! I'm surprised she even lasted that long against Bakugou with all that pain," Mina gapes, looking at the stunned girl.

"Yes, as am I," the old lady sighs. "Fortunately, I did heal most of the damage, but you will have some minor cuts to your face, headaches, and some soreness for the next few days. So, it's best if you don't push yourself and just relax, take time to fully heal," she advises.

Kasai nods, careful not to move her head too fast. Looks like she's going to spend the next few days in bed. She's mentally scolding herself for being stupid. But she wanted to win, and she can clearly conclude that her determination erases her self preservation. A flaw she obviously needs to fix.

Though, she is training to be a hero, so self preservation isn't really in the handbook.

"Thanks, Recovery Girl, I really appreciate your help," Kasai gives the older woman a kind smile.

"You're welcome. Now, you girls should get going, the award ceremony is almost about to start, and you Miss Todoroki need to be there when it starts." The aged heroine tells them, ushering them to the door.

Mina's eyes widen. "That's right! C'mon, Kasai, let's get you moving," she exclaims, rushing to the bandaged girl.

"Careful, she's still hurt," Yaoyorozu reminds the excited girl.

Jiro smirks. "Yeah, you wouldn't want to prolong her stay in the infirmary, now would you," she teases.

Kasai shakes her head with a smirk. "You make it sound like I'm some fragile china doll," she huffs.

"Well, you are pretty damaged," Tsuyu points out.

Kasai deadpans.

Mina laughs. "Let's go, you fragile doll," she says, helping the girl get out of bed.

"I hate you," the Todoroki huffs.

The other girls all smile, softly laughing at her reaction. This sports festival was meant to be a competition, but in the end, all it did was bring them together.

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤

STANDING ON THE podium for second place, Kasai listens to the cheers booming around her along with the festive fireworks glittering in the sky. Sure, she's covered in bandages, but she's at least happy for making it to the top three. Though, it does sting a little to stay in the place of second - to her it seems like life is mocking her, she's always second place.

But nonetheless, she still feels accomplished. Maybe next year she could get her hands on first place.

Huffing, Kasai turns to her left and looks at Bakugou. He looks pleased for winning first place, though she is aware of the controversy he brought. His fighting was beyond brutal, he held nothing back and some people - most of them - saw that as acting too much like a villain. His anger was overwhelming during the festival; In the obstacle race he fought against Shoto, in the cavalry battle, he set his target on class 1B along with Midoriya, his fight with Uraraka was borderline 'cruel' if she goes with the thoughts of the audience, with Kirishima he held nothing back - he was relentless, with Tokoyami he exposed his opponent's weakness, and finally their match - they gave it everything.

He pretty much antagonized the whole crowd with his fighting style.

And she's pretty sure that she did the same thing.

This was a competition after all, what did they expect? To be friendly and hug? That's laughable.

Feeling eyes on him, Katsuki turns to his right as sees the pale girl looking up at him. Their eyes collide in a clash of turquoise and vermilion. Though, his heart seems to stutter when she gives him a congratulating smile. Sensing the tips of his ears heating up, he huffs and looks away from her.

Kasai shakes her head, but also turns her head to hide her blooming blushed cheeks.

Damn it, Kasai, stop these schoolgirl feelings, she scolds herself, her cheeks now blushing red.

"Now, let's move on to the Awards Ceremony," Midnight announces as she steps forward, waving at the audience.

On her place at the podium, Kasai composes herself from the flustered emotions, and instead gives her classmates and the audience her signature smirk. Despite in second place, she still feels like a winner. Even more so when she's a place above her brother - their father called her a failure, but here she is in second place while Shoto, his prized child, is third place. What more evidence does that man need to see that she's nothing he says about her?

Narrowing her icy turquoise eyes at the flaming hero, she scoffs. Why bother? I'm my own person, I can write my own future despite his opinions.

With reassurance in her heart, the pale haired girl raises her head in confidence. Wearing her title as second place proudly! No more letting people strip away her pride - as long as she believes in herself she'll keep smiling. As long as she has those few people supporting her, then she'll keep standing! She'll keep fighting!

No more letting people push her down.

"The crowd's been waiting for this moment, and he's the one who said it! Our number one - Mr. No-Holding-Back - Bakugou Katsuki of Class 1A!" Midnight exclaims, announcing the placement of the ash blond. Her words make the crowd roar with cheers.

Kasai smiles at the proud look on his face, seeing the boastful and arrogant grin. Even though she told herself, she ignores her own scoldings and allows her cheeks to bloom with blush. The pale girl has sighted several grins on his face, but this time the smile just seems more genuine. Maybe it's the fact that he actually looks happy? Whatever it is, it makes something in her heart blossom.

"In second place we have the one who fought with much fervor, Miss. Todoroki Kasai!"

The pale girl grows red at the sudden attention given towards her, and looks down. Sure, she's a confident person and has no problem voicing it, but when it's actually acknowledged - well, she gets shy and her stomach swirls with butterflies. No one's really acknowledged her with praise before, at least not to this level. So as Kasai reassures herself, she raises her head once more and gives the people a genuine, and happy, smile. Though, as her ears ring with applause, her turquoise eyes can't help but search the crowd for a face she knows is not there. At times like these, during her milestones, she can't help but wish that Touya was there to celebrate her accomplishments with.

At the thought of her older sibling, her icy eyes melt with tears, I did it, big brother! I shined like the sun

"In third place we have both Todoroki Shoto and Tokoyami Fumekage," Midnight continues which only makes the applause grow even more.

Kasai gives her brother a smile, but by looking at him more closely, she could see in his expression that something is bothering him. It's clear that there is, by means he's not even reacting to the cheerful shouts and praises. He's in his own headspace, distracted with whatever is bothering him. Of course earlier in the day she noticed that he was angry, even days before this event, so concluding all the details, Kasai is sure that whatever is bothering him so much has to do with their father, or his quirk. Maybe both. The girl winces because she's positive that she was some of the cause that's effecting him.

It's like they switched places. He was so clear headed when this day started and she was a mess, now he's the one who's a conflicted jumble of emotions.

"Now for the medals! Presenting them this year is... you know who -"

"I am...here with the medals-" "He's everyone's hero, All might!"

Kasai deadpans when Midnight and All Might overlap each other, making the number one hero's entrance a bit too anticlimactic.

The Todoroki didn't really have an opinion for the Symbol of Peace. Sure, the girl was in awe with his appearance at the USJ, but that was because he literally wiped the floor with the Nomu. The fight was epic to witness, and those who watched it could agree with her. But that was as far as her appreciation for the hero went. She wasn't a major fan for him like Midoriya. Kasai didn't really have a favorite hero, but if she were to pick... maybe her father.

Yes, he's an awful example of a dad, but his hero work is actually impressive. There's also the Winged Hero - Hawks, she finds him cool, and just a bit attractive - but that's nothing important. But no, she didn't really have fan behavior for a certain hero, she just aspired to be the best.

So, as she watches Midnight sheepishly apologize for talking over him, Kasai just chooses to watch the blond hero. All Might takes the two bronze medallions before walking up the small steps of the third pedestal.

"Congratulations, Tokoyami, kid! You're a strong one!"

"You honor me too highly, sir," Tokoyami bows his head, allowing All Might to place the medal around his neck.

"But relying on your quirk alone won't be enough to overcome a bad matchup. Hone your innate strength to open a world of opportunity," the blond hero advises before giving the boy a hug.

 He then turns to Shoto.

"Todoroki, kid. Congratulations," he smiles at the boy, who bows his head in thanks, which allows All Might to give him the bronze medal. "You held back. You didn't use your left side in your final match, not until you were forced to. Was there a reason for that?"

"It was my match with Midoriya, I think I lost my way. I know you've taken an interest in him, and I'm starting to see why. I've always wanted to become a hero like you, but it's not like I can just forget the past and get over things. That's not enough. There's still something I have to settle first," Shoto explains, which makes Kasai quirk a brow with interest.

All Might gives him a hug, patting the boy's back. "That's a new look I'm seeing on your face. So, say no more. Whatever you must settle, I'm sure you can do it."

Walking down the steps, All Might then grabs the silver medal from Midnight before he turns towards the second pedestal. Climbing the small steps, he looks down at the other Todoroki twin. Kasai meets his gaze and gives a small smile in greeting.

"Todoroki, kid, congratulations!"

"Thank you, All Might," she says, her smile growing with the acknowledgement.

"You fought vigorously, and in the end, it became your advantage. You're a strong one, and I'm certain that if you continue to work as hard as you do, you'll eventually come to be a great hero," he tells her, which makes Kasai bow with both thanks and respect.

With the silver medal resting around her neck, the pale haired girl gives the number one hero a proud smile. "I'll make sure to do my absolute best," she beams brightly.

It's true, All Might's words filled Kasai's heart with pride. Her father, who's supposed to be supportive of his children always called her a failure, that she would never make it as a hero. Yet here's the number one hero, All Might, saying that she could become a great hero. Why is it that a stranger's words are the words that she's been waiting for all her life? The teen shakes her head, this is just proving that she doesn't need her father's acknowledgement, especially when his influence is nothing but toxic.

She'll heed the hero's words and continue working on becoming the greatest hero she can be!

If not for myself, then for my older siblings! Especially for Touya, wherever he is. I'll become a hero for him, she muses, clenching her hands into fists.

"And finally, Bakugou. You lived up to your promise and prevailed greatly! Wonderful," All Might says with his signature grin.

"Hmph," the ash blond scoffs, smirking. "Against me, all those extras didn't stand a chance! I told 'em, and I proved that I am the best, it doesn't matter what anyone else says! I earned this win," he proudly grins, and allows the hero to place the gold medal around his neck.

"There aren't many who can continuously stay on the top, but you've proven yourself. So, take this medal as reminder to always work hard and prove to everyone that you can be number one," All Might states before giving the boy a congratulatory hug.

The snow haired girl gives the explosive boy a meaningful smile. Now, that this festival is coming to an end, she doesn't feel disappointed with herself. She gave it her best, did her best, stepped out of her twin's shadow, and finally stood up for herself against her father. All in all, she's proud of herself - even if she did get second place.

"Well! These are your winners! But hold on, everyone," All Might speaks up, turning to the spectating audience of heroes and students. "Everyone here today has the potential to be standing up here! As you all witnessed! Competition! Encouragement! Pushing each other to climb higher and higher! The sprouts of today will grow into the heroes of tomorrow! In that spirit, let's have one final cheer!" The number one hero exclaims, raising his left hand.

"Everyone say it with me! One! Two! And - "

"Thanks, for the hard work!" "Plus Ultra!!!"

"We were supposed to say 'plus ultra,' All Might," Midnight shouts.

"Oh, right... It's just that they really did work so hard," he mumbles, apologetically.

Kasai literally facepalms, shaking her head in amusement. The fact that the number one hero missed the mark, is hilarious. The Symbol of Peace may be an outstanding hero, but he can be a total ditz sometimes.

But she still smiles, nonetheless, actually happy.

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤

SITTING BACK IN class and out of her fitness uniform, Kasai stares at her homeroom teacher as he stands in the front. Now that she's sitting and staying still, not feeling the buzz and adrenaline of the cheering crowd, the girl can feel the overwhelming pain in her arms. The intensity and severity of her wounds actually processing in her brain, in her nerves. Her body is screaming at her, stabbing her with hot needles of excruciating pain.

She doesn't want to give a reaction, and buy herself more attention. Because out of the whole festival, she and Midoriya are the ones who sustained the most damage, seeing as they're both currently donned in thick bandages.

So, instead, the Todoroki chooses to chew on her bottom lip to distract herself from the pain.

"In the light of the festival, you'll have tomorrow and the next day off," Aizawa informs.

The girl should have felt relief for the days off, but all she could think of was spending time in the same house as her father. It already sounded suffocating. She didn't want forty-eight hours of thick tension, she would rather burn alive. Though, that may be an exaggeration, but still. Natsuo wouldn't be there to soften the blow, he spends most of his time at college, plus he wouldn't really ease the tension, he would probably add to it. The only one who's capable of making things run smoothly is Fuyumi. Her older sister was practically a saint; she's always so kind and didn't even have a mean bone in her body.

Though, it won't be enough for Kasai to withstand the next two days.

"Scouting reports and such from the pros will be waiting for you here after the break. So look forward to that as you enjoy your time off," Aizawa finishes, making the students murmur with excitement.

The Todoroki girl glanced to her left, at her brother, and saw that he was still in his distracted state. Since their time of being classmates, and finally seeing him up close, Kasai knows that her brother hardly gets distracted, so this state he's in is really concerning. What could have him so out of it? Did their father tell him something? Did her and his fight trigger something? Is it something to do with him using his flames? Maybe she shouldn't have pushed him too far.

With class getting dismissed, everyone scrambles to gather their things. Biting her lip, the pale haired girl winces as she moves her arms. Though, just as she places one notebook into her backpack, a hand takes her bag away from her. Startled, her turquoise eyes look up to meet a mismatched gaze.

"You shouldn't be moving your arms. I'll put your stuff away," Shoto states quietly as he takes the rest of her notebooks and pencil pouches.

The younger sibling stares in silent awe. Now that Kasai isn't blinded by her one sided rage and jealousy,  she can actually see that Shoto cares for her. Always has. His actions were usually too small for her to notice, but now she can see them. In truth, it confuses her. She always treated him like the dirt beneath her shoe, but he's here treating her like an actual sibling.

"B-but, it's not that -"

"It's no big deal, Kasai. I've got it," Shoto reassures, zipping the backpack and placing it on his right shoulder to carry.

She bites her lip, feeling awkward. She's always done things herself, so this is new. "Um...thanks," the girl says, wincing at how lame she sounds.

Shoto nods, before leading them towards the classroom door.

"See ya after our break, Kasai," Mina shouts, waving at the pale girl.

The girl nods at her pink friend. "You too, Mina. Have fun."

Mina beams with a smile, "You bet! Haha! Try not to break yourself even more, you fragile doll," she laughs.

Kasai deadpans, giving the girl a half heated glare.

"Take care, Todoroki," Momo says, stepping closer to the girl. "I would suggest drinking camomile or echinacea tea, they relive pain and help reduce stress on your muscles, plus they relax you enough to be able to sleep."

Kasai gives her a genuine soft smile. "Thanks, Yaoyorozu. I'll make sure to do that."

The raven haired girl gives her a satisfied smile before stepping away.

Turning towards her brother, Kasai sees that he's in a conversation with Izuku - well the latter doing most of the talking. Looking away, she let's her icy eyes roam the room. She sees the groups of friends all talking - Jiro with Momo, Tokoyami with Ojiro, Shoji, and Koda, Kaminari with Sero and Mineta, Uraraka with Tsuyu, Mina, and Hagakure. As her eyes continue, they stop when they collide with a pair of carmine eyes.

Kirishima is talking with Bakugou, but the blond's focus is on her.

Katsuki noticed the pale girl looking at him, and though they had their eyes on each other, he noticed everything about her. The thick bandages wrapped on her arms, the bandages on her head, the light bruising on her face. She's the example of damaged, but her eyes held a shine of happiness, one of relief. The more he stared, the more he noticed that there was no anger in her gaze - not like there usually is.

However, his searching gaze stops when Kasai suddenly gives him a smile, making his skin flare with a heated fire.

Even more so when he saw the happiness directed towards him. Her eyes were a blue, like a glacier glistening in the sun, cool yet soft almost like snow.

And a thought suddenly hit him, why is he feeling this way? And why is it because of her?

Is he having feelings for white-out?

¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤

THE NEXT DAY came rather quickly for Kasai. After all, she spent yesterday drinking tea and dozing off when she and Shoto arrived home from school. Yaoyorozu's suggestion for the teas was a true miracle worker. The camomile tea was successful in lulling her into a pain-free sleep. Though, when she did wake up from her naps, she drank the echinacea tea to relieve the pain on her arms.

So, as the white haired girl sits at the kotatsu table drinking a steaming cup of tea, Fuyumi looks to her kid sister. The older sibling saw the sports festival on television. She saw how both Shoto and Kasai raced through the obstacle course as if nothing, impressed with both their show of using their quirks. She also smiled when she saw them team up during the human cavalry, happy that they worked well together. She always noticed the large barrier between them while growing up, whether it was due to their father or from themselves. Shoto was kept away from them because of his training and Kasai was always stuck to Touya's side, but after the incident with their older brother Kasai stuck to herself - having built walls around herself. So seeing them work together made her smile.

Though, it didn't last long when the tournament of the festival began. Shoto won his first match in a quick show of power. Kasai beat her competition with great physical prowess. Shoto's second match was intense, a back and forwards battle until he used his flame quirk. Kasai was equally intense, but more heated. Then came their match. Fuyumi got worried with the thought of her siblings fighting each other, and she was right to be. Their match was intense, and not in a good way. It was full of anger, full of hesitation. She watched as her little sister revealed her hot temper, one that is quite similar to their father's. And it wasn't until Kasai produced hot blue flames that it reminded the older girl of their late brother - so bright and iridescent, that Shoto also used his own flames just so he can counter the blazing attacks.

She worried that the fight would create a bigger rift between the twins, but when she saw them come home yesterday - Shoto supporting Kasai's unsteady body on himself, she smiled. It brought them together instead.

But as she looks to Kasai and sees the bandaged arms, Fuyumi shakes her head. Kasai is too much like Touya - always pushing herself to the point where she gets hurt. She remembered when she was younger, her older brother always trained and didn't stop no matter the burns he sustained. It was uncanny how similar the two siblings were, even now when they haven't been by each other's side for years.

"You should really take care of yourself, Kasai. Don't push yourself to the point where your own quirk hurts you," Fuyumi states with a gentle smile.

Exhaling a breath after taking a sip of tea, the white haired teen looks up from her cup to her sister. "I'll admit that I was reckless, but this is just the first of many wounds, Nee-chan. I'm training to be a hero after all, getting battle scars is kind of in the description. But I'll be more careful about it, so don't worry" she says, giving a mixture of a smirk and a genuine smile.

Fuyumi shakes her head, smiling. She knows this is the best she's going to get from her sister. "I'm your big sister, I'll always worry."

The youngest Todoroki looks down, flustered, as she smiles. She always forgets how caring her sister is. Her anger for Shoto blinded her so much, and in the end, it kept her away from her siblings. Kasai was her own obstacle, she built so many walls and burned so many bridges by trying to become the 'perfect' daughter, but all she did was push everyone away. But a big piece of her heart didn't want to get close to her siblings because she still cared for Touya, despite the absence of his presence, that piece of her heart still belonged to him. He was her big brother. He was her very first friend, best friend in fact. He was her mentor when it came to her quirk. He was her idol.

Despite Shoto being her twin, Touya was her other half.

But now, he was gone.

So, she had to open herself up to her other siblings, and fill the emptiness that Touya unintentionally left in her heart.

Looking up to her sister, Kasai gives her a soft smile. "And I...I l-love you for that. Thank you, Nee-chan, for caring," she says, her cheeks flushing red in embarrassment with the 'l' word.

Fuyumi chuckles at her sister's embarrassment, but she's also touched at the vulnerability coming from her. She knew her sister disliked being emotional, a trait she unintentionally got from their father, seeing it as a weakness and hindrance. Kasai was mostly sharp looks and cold words, anything warm was foreign to the girl - ironic since she has a fire quirk.

"Don't hurt yourself, Imou-chan. Emotions were never your strong suit," Fuyumi takes a playful jibe.

Kasai deadpans. "Har har, very funny," she scoffs with a smile, but happy that her sister noticed her discomfort and changed the topic.

"But seriously, you don't have to thank me. Now, I couldn't help but notice, you and Shoto seem to be getting along now. What changed, if I can ask," Fuyumi says, reaching across the kotatsu table to grasp at her sister's hand - giving it a squeeze to show her thanks.

"Uh, well, what changed was that we punched each other in the face," Kasai laughs. "But no, I realized that Shoto and I are the same to some extent. Whilst he got trained by our father, it wasn't out of affection. It was brutal. And while I didn't get any attention at all, I still got my own scars. We're both emotional wrecks, so we kind of bonded with our trauma, to say the less," she shrugs.

Fuyumi shakes her head. "I'm sorry I couldn't stop that. You were both so little when things changed, and-"

"I don't blame you," Kasai cuts her off. "You were young, too. I couldn't expect you to stop our father. What matters most is that you were there after, caring for us, loving us. Even if we didn't notice it. You were always there."

Fuyumi nodded, giving a sad smile.

The space between them fell to a comforting silence. A start to rebuilding their sisterly bond. A new beginning. Not just between sisters, but with siblings.

Speaking of, their short silence is broken when Shoto emerges from his room and out into the living area. The boy is surprised when he sees both his sisters sitting at the table.

"Hey, Shoto! Good morning," Kasai says, giving an awkward mix of a smirk and smile.

The older twin gives his sister a gentle warm smile. He's happy that they're now talking. It might be somewhat awkward and they don't really know what to talk about, but at least they're talking. A thing he's missed since he was a kid.

"Good morning, Sai-chan," he says.

Kasai's turquoise eyes widen in surprise at the sound of her old nickname. Only he called her that, when they were younger. She smiles, returning the sentiment.

"Why are you dressed to go out, Sho-kun?"

"I'm going to the hospital," he informs, walking past them and towards the front door.

Fuyumi is surprised at the mention and stands up to follow him. Kasai also got shocked by his words, but her eyes widen once again at the opportunity. If she's going to make things right, then she needs to apologize to one last person.

After all, Kasai accused the woman of being wrong, but in the end, she was right. She didn't need her father's approval to be a hero.

"Wait!" Kasai cries out as she struggles to stand up from the table. Curse her arms for being sore, hindering her movements. Groaning at the difficulty, she finally manages to stand up.

"Wait," she calls out again, reaching her siblings. "I want to go, too."

"Huh? The hospital? Why so sudden?" Fuyumi asks, glancing between the twins. "I mean, can you really go without telling father, Shoto?"

Kasai laughs indignantly.

"Yeah," they answer in synch. Shoto more monotonous, and Kasai more defiantly.

"Why now? Why go see her now, after all this time," Fuyumi asks, still in some shock from seeing her siblings being in synch.

Kasai shakes her head as Shoto ties her shoes for her, seeing as she can't move to reach down.

"I need to apologize. I was rude to her the last time I went to see her, said some things," the youngest informs, sighing at the memory.

Shoto says nothing. He just turns to the door after tying her laces. Kasai shrugs to her sister as he slides the door open.

"We'll be back later," she reassures.

And with that, the siblings set off. Fuyumi stared after them, concerned for them, but happy that they're getting along again. Even if it's slightly. Little by little.

...but maybe that's just the calm before the storm.

Anyways! The sports festival arc is finally over! And I know this chapter was more filler-esque, but I needed to finish this arc!

Oooh, Kasai is making friends with the Class 1A girls, yay! Though her closest friend is Mina. And yes, Kasai is a part of the Bakusquad. I'll try to add more of that in!

Ooh, Kasai is somewhat realizing her feelings for Katsuki. And Bakugo is doing the same. Now all they need to do is admit it! But the tension starts now! 👀😏😏

Shoto and Kasai are getting along, finally. I'm happy to write their moments. These twins deserve better. Though, I can see them bonding over their trauma and getting their revenge by wrecking Endeavor's car or maxing out his credit cards, lolol.

Fuyumi and Kasai, they're just soft. I love their relationship even though I haven't written much of it. I need more of it!

Touya/Dabi and Kasai will always be superior! 💙

And oof! What's that menacing foreshadow at the end? Dun dun duunn!

That's all for today!
