"Aren't you excited?" Kelly asked me. I'm pretty sure my silent response as i stared out the window and crossed my arms was a pretty definite no, but she didn't think so.

"Me too! it's going to be so much fun!" she says. I still don't answer. When the silence becomes intolerable, she turns on the radio.

I don't mean to be so mean to my best friend, but I was honestly a little mad. She planned a camping trip with her boyfriend and his friends and is having me tag along. She says it'll be fun but I don't believe her. I just got out of a relationship with my ex boyfriend Richard and was feeling pretty depressed. I know she was hoping that this little trip would get my mind off him, but I just don't know. Besides. A little more than a days notice would have been nice too.

"Look Becca, this will be good for you in the long run. you have to trust me. A week experiencing nature is just what you need. Cheer up a little."

"I can't," I tell her.

She sighs. "well think of it this way. You're putting at least a hundred miles between you and that asshole. He can't hurt you now."

I look at her and then back out the window. "Let's just hope you're right."
