13. Truth or Confession? What's that?

It's almost midnight, but sleep didn't bother to visit Levine with annoyed the latter so he decided to walk around the HQ for pastime until he feel sleepy.

So wearing his white hoody and eight-pocket shorts, he walked out of his room and walk around the Corridors, bare footed. It's spotless clean anyway and he loves the feeling of the cold floor on his skin. It's weird, yes, but he is the weirdest person in the whole brigade anyway. He can say, Hey, I fell in love with a horse, and no one will be asking him how and why.

"This is taking a lot more often, huh Levine? Try consulting Hange. Maybe you have insomnia," Yami asked, but Levine growled and rubbed his eyes. He don't know if he appreciate or disgraces Yami's presence or both. In times Levine is in a brink of going insane with thoughts, he would come out and bug him.  For some reason, it helps him.

"I already know I have insomnia, but I never get this late before sleeping soundly," Levine said and his eyes caught a sight of light. Turing around, he saw Sasha and Connie walking with a nightlight and rations in their arms.

"Who are you talking to?"

"What are you doing?" They asked each other and Sasha smiled widely at him as she take a good grip on the rations she is holding close to her chest and walked over to Levine, grabbing him by the wrist.

"Nice timing! Can't sleep? Come and join us!" She said which made Levine raise his eyebrow at her. Hanging around with people four years younger than you and being ignorant of the world you are staying at, you wouldn't understand many stuff so Levine wants to question.

But before he could even utter a word, Sasha dragged him as Connie follow suit. Levine realized she is leading him to Jean's room which he once shared with Eren, but now sleeps alone in it.

As the two open it, without bottering to knock, Sasha pushed Levine inside, almost making him stumble and roll like a bowling ball to the wall at the end o the room. He swear that if that ever did happened, he'll smite Sasha right in front of the whole brigade.

"We're back!" Sasha energetically declared. Levine clicked his tongue. How can this girl have so much energy late at night?

"And you brought Levine too! This'll be much more interesting!" He heard Eren said and there he is, sitting on the cold hard floor with a grin on his face. Beside him sat Mikasa and Armin as Jean sat on the other side of Armin and there is also a free space fothe two of them---make that three.

"What are you brats up to, late at night?" Levine noticed Armin scanning him from head to toe and repeating it multiple times, "Try taking a picture. It lasts longer."

Armin seem to snapped out of his trance and look at Levine with a flustered expression and beads of sweats running down his cheeks.

"N-No! I-It's just that, it's weird seeing you in casual wear. Especially in shorts. Most of us just wears pants," he explained himself and Levine clicks his tongue, looking around. He's a bit satisfy with Jean's room. It's not that clean, just right, but his belongings are well organized. Mama's boy, he thought.

"Pfft! You look even shorter with shorts," Jean said and Levine glared at him. He knows he's short, but he just don't want someone else making a big deal out of it.

"Let's just start with this!" Connie said, avoiding any further detour and pushed Sasha and Levine down to sit on the floor. Levine panicked for a while, worrying about dirt, but the floor is surprisingly clean.

Jean signed in relief. He knew that maybe one o them might drag Levine into this so he frantically cleaned his room spotless so that the latter wouldn't make him do some consequences he would not like.

"What are you doing anyway?" Levine finally asked once he fully checked his surrounding as clean as his room. Not wholely his room, but at least clean.

"We're going to play truth or confession!" Sasha cheered, shooting her arms up in excitement. Levine raised one of his dangerously thin eyebrows.

"Truth and confession? What in this messed up world is that?" Levine asked once again and turned to Armin and Mikasa for answers since he know that he wouldn't understand if he ask the other individuals in the room. Armin and Mikasa understands how he thinks and the can make him learn the game in a minute or two.

"Well, it's a game where we spin a bottle with water in the middle and whoever it points to will have to choose Truth or Confession," Mikasa started. For the past months, Mikasa and Levine grew close in a weird and silent way, which not even Jean, Sasha and Connie noticed it.

"And if you choose Truth, we have to ask you one question and you have to answer truthfully, but if you choose Confession otherwise, you have to confess something about yourself," Armin finished and Levine clicked his tongue, trying to stand up, but Connie and Eren jumped at him to stay put.

"Nope! You're staying! We want to know stuff about you and at the same time, you need to know stuff about us too!" Eren said, hugging Levine'sleg like a child begging for someone to stay with him until he fall asleep. How pathetic, he thought.

"Tch, let go of me!"

---

Unfortunately, Levine was forced to stay because he cannot go out of the door because there are some people doing their night rounds, seeing if someone is out of bed. That made Levine feel like a child in an orphanage.

"I choose...Truth," Mikasa stated as the water bottle pointed her. The game has been on going for a while now and Levine discovered annoying and amusing facts about the squad. Like, Eren wets his bed up to his 6th birthday, Jean crying whenever his mother leaves home even though he knows where she is going and Connie trying to attempt a cartwheel but ended up in a pile of horse dung when he was around 9.

"Hmm...truth eh?" Sasha thought while tapping her chin, "Oh! This might take place a few years from now. What will happen if your scarf's gone missing and later on, you I'll know that Hazel-san's future son or daughter who took it?"

That...is the dumbest question to be ask according to Levine. Well, that's Sasha for you. Dumb in an adorable way.

"I'll give him or her a piece of my mind. Stealing other people's stuff is bad," Mikasa answered as Levine imagined Mikasa lecturing g a little blonde kid about morals and stuff while its own parent has no morals anyway.

"That kinda makes sense," Armin said, smiling. After a few more spins, the most anticipated turn took place. Levine's turn.

"Levine! Truth or confession?!" Eren asked with so much enthusiasm as he stood up, only to be pulled down by Mikasa.

"This is stupid--"

"Not a choice!"

"Tch, fine. Ask me anything. Truth," Levine said, leaning backwards with his arms supporting him. He cannot choose Confession because he cannot think of anything to tell the squad so Truth is the only choice for him. Sometimes he wish he have a much more mature people to hang out with.

"Hehehe!" Eren grinned, "You have a crush on Hazel-san, don't you?"

Silence. Everyone's at silence at first as Levine process the question he did not quite get. He. Crush. Hazel. Still bluffing.......aaaand.

"WHAT NONSENSE IS THAT?!" he bursted, standing up as his face glow red and heart raced with time.

"Well, everyone did notice your blushing whenever Hazel-san's talking to you," Connie said, grinning mischievously as Levine glared. He had never been humiliated in his entire life.

"Oh please. I do not. Hazel is admirable, I admit, but that is no reason for me to have a crush on her. Plus, the age gap is huge so do not expect me to be that kind of person," Levine said with a flustered face. If they could only capture this moment, they would. This moment is so priceless that it needs to be recorded in history.

"Oh! And don't forget, she is married to Levi-Heichou," hearing Levi's name snapped Levine out of his flustered state and calmed down. He took a seat and clicked his tongue in annoyance. Yeah, to him.

"Oh, and that. Levi is pretty lucky."

"Ooh! Someone's jea--" Eren did not continued his sentence when he noticed Levine's expression. It's blank once again but there is something different about it. He seems to be missing something g about Levine, but can't point it out.

"Hey, Levine. Better tell them the truth," Yami said, sitting in the middle of the circle as he mess with Jean's two colored hair.

'No, I can't. Not now.'

----

Meanwhile, Levi is still awake in their home while Hazel is fast asleep beside him on the bed. Her growing blond hair almost covers her face and her mouth is slightly open making Levi think adorably of his wife.

Thanks to his slight insomnia, he gets a chance to see this part of Hazel every night before he sleep and a few months later, maybe even his child's face too. That would lift his stress away. A family he knows that's happy.

"Family, huh?" Levi muttered and remembered Levine and Hazel's suggestion that he might be his brother. There's a 50-50 chance said Hazel, but Levi just can't put himself to...

"I don't know why you trusts him, but I warn you, Levi. He's been playing with us...all."

Levi feels like Levine is abit hesitant about that sentence. He paused in us and he suddenly added all. Something is not right. And he wants to know that.

"Oh, just got to stupid Eyebrows already," Levi turned to Hazel who have her emrald eyes slightly open and staring at him, "Just go already. I'll be fine here."

Hazel sure is full of surprises, he thought. Levi pushed back her strands of hair that are covering her face and cupped her cheeks with his hand. Hazel leaned into his warmth and smiled.

"Go see...go and find your brother," Hazel said and Levi nodded, before getting g himself ready to leave for the HQ.

"I'll be right back," he said before kissing Hazel on the forehead and rubber her stomach, leaving with his coat.

Hazel sat up from their bed and gazed out the window and looked at the stars that are slowly fading away.

"Hey, Titus. How's it going?"
