Javon's alarm on his phone went off at 8:00am. This woke up not just Javon who was sleeping on the small couch in Mackenzie's room, but also her.

The boy reached for his phone to turn off his alarm when Mackenzie groaned "ugh Javon you could have turned your alarm down just a bit".

After finally turning the alarm off Javon got up, "If it was any quieter it wouldn't of woke me up".

Javon had press today which is why he had to get up early.

"so what are you gonna do while your bestfriend's gone all day?" he said digging through his suit case.

Mackenzie stretched while still in her bed, "hang out with my other best friend".

"Alone?".

"Yeah".

"You said it yourself he likes you, you really trust him enough not to try anything?".

"I have no reason not to".

The boy stopped looking through his suitcase when he found what he was looking for, his toothbrush.

"So what are you guys doing?".

Mackenzie crawled across her bed to grab her phone, "uh I think he said we're going to the beach".

"which one?".

"Venice obviously".

"How long are you guys gonna be there?".

Mackenzie looked up from her phone "Why are you asking so many questions? are you gonna stalk us or something?" she joked.

Javon didn't say anything, he was waiting for her to answer her questions.

Rolling her eyes the girl answered "I don't know, I'll text you whenever we leave though".

Javon was in a hurry to get ready, he already wasted time with the small talk.

Looking at the outfit Mackenzie picked out for him the night before he smiled she has good style he thought.

Meanwhile Mackenzie was also getting ready to go to the beach with Hudson.

The two had to be ready at the same time because Mackenzie's mom was driving Javon to where his interview was, then dropping her daughter off at the beach.

"You almost done in there Wanna?".

"No, the fuck? This is the last time I ever let you touch my hair" the boy yelled from the bathroom.

Mackenzie laughed "Boy you got no hair how did I even mess it up? ".

"Nah 'cause you just want me to look like Jaden". Mackenzie had tried to curl Javon's hair, but since his hair was so short she just made it stick straight up.

"Dude curly hair is cute and Jaden's an example of that".

After the two where done getting ready they got in Mackenzie's mom's car.

"Remember to text me before you leave the beach" Javon reminded the girl.

Mackenzie looked him up and down "Yeah I will".

"So what are you guys doing at the beach?".

"Whatever people do at the beach, I don't know I haven't been in years".

Javon just nodded and looked at his phone, he was texting Jaden.

She noticed he was texting him so she tried to send what they where saying but when she leaned closer to get a better look Javon noticed and pushed her away.

"you noisy" he laughed.

The car ride to Javon's interview destination was filled with tons of laughs.

The car came to a stop when they arrived at the tall building that had "set 4" on it.

"I'm glad you came to California with me" the girl smiled.

"eww don't start it with that cheesy shit".

"Get the fuck out" she pointed to the car door Javon was closest to.

He laughed then opened the door "see you later".

Mackenzie's mom dropped the girl off at the beach, and she tried to call Hudson to find out where he was but he immediately declined the call.

Confused she tried to call him again but this time before she could tap call she felt arms around her.

Panicked she elbowed the person in the side then quickly spun around "shit!".

It was Hudson. "You fucking bitch" he mumbled holding his side.

Mackenzie quickly apologized "sorry" and then hugged him.

"Where did you learn to punch that hard?".

"well I didn't punch you I elbowed you but Javon taught me" she said smiling.

Hudson rolled his eyes. "let's find somewhere to set our stuff".

After about five minutes of walking in the hot sand they finally found a somewhat nice spot to lay their stuff.

Sitting down on the towel Hudson said "so how's life?".

Chuckling she responded with "Not the best i-".

Interrupting her the boy said "Same I think some people just ruin it".

Looking over at him Mackenzie shook her head "Yeah but some people make life worth living".

"Like me" Hudson commented puting his arm around her.

"Yeah I guess" she simply said paying close attention to her hand moving across the dry sand.

Hudson took that to offense "what do you mean "I guess"" he raised his voice a bit.

"Huh?" now confused the girl scooted a little bit away from him.

"I don't like you hanging out with those Walton's".

"What?".

He didn't hesitate to get closer to Mackenzie after noticing she scooted away, "You've been acting different every since you started hanging out with them".

Mackenzie's eyes widening "you sound so stupid you realize that".

Raising his voice he said "What happened to it being just me and you? Huh? Now it's me you and fucking Javon".

Mackenzie just stared at him with her mouth ajar for a second then decided to stand up.

Putting her stuff in her tote bag she said "I'm not doing this right now, you're acting toxic".

Putting her bag on her shoulder she looked at Hudson who was now standing infront of her "Maybe we can talk later" she suggested.

Yes he may be acting stupid but she reminded herself they've been friends for over half their life.

Hudson walked closer to her and put his hands on each of her arms.

"Please get your hands off me" the girl shook them off and stepped back.

After a second of looking at him she realized she should leave. But when she turned around to leave she bumped into someone.
