Midnight, farmhouse

Neil was holding a sleeping Avni in his arms. He was glad that their impromptu marriage and his feelings had not caused any awkwardness in their lives.
He was patting her hair softly. Soon, his mind drifted to all what Ahuja had told him.

Flashback...

Ahuja: That day...

Neil: Speak up Ahuja! Before I murder you!!!
Neil shouted.

Ahuja: That day, when I saw Avni for the first time, I got attracted to her. She's a woman of substance. She's so pretty. I just wanted her. But you were always around her. So I tried to instigate her against you. But you slapped me.
I was angry, hell angry. I wanted revenge.
So I brought Rohan in the story. I wanted to destroy you. I wanted to snatch away your business and your dear Avni from you.
My nephew was interested in the business and I was interested in Avni. We both had a pact. After marriage, he'll get the property and I'll get Avni for my nights. Since, she'd be Rohans wife, so he'd have her in the day.
But you spoiled everything with that proposal of yours.

Neil was boiling with anger and disgust after listening to his evil plans. He didn't want to see his face.

Neil: Torture him as much as you can. Don't leave him capable enough to even think about fucking someone his whole life.
He said through gritted teeth and left from there. Else he would end up killing him.

Flashback over

Neil came out of his thoughts when he felt something on his chest. He looked down to see Avni drawing patterns on his chest. He held her hand and she looked up at him.

A: Sorry. You didn't like it?

N: I loved it!

A: Then why did you stop me?

N: To ask you.

A: Ask me? What?

N: Why are you not asleep?

A: Nothing.
She said avoiding eye contact.
Neil wanted to ask further but he did not want to push her. He knew she will share everything when she feel to.

A: Tum kya soch rahe ho?

Neil suddenly stiffens and says Kuch nahi..

A: Are you angry?

N: Hmmm...

A: Mujhse?

N: Na... Just someone not worth mentioning.
Let's just leave this. So, what did you do after I left?

Avni got excited and smiled a big one.

A: I painted.

N: And what did you paint?

A: You wanna see?

N: Of course.
He said twitching her nose.

They got up and went to the balcony. There was a painting but it was covered.

A: Go ahead and do the honours Mr. Khanna.

N: Sure Mrs. Khanna.
He went ahead and removed the cloth. He went numb. He just froze for a moment. His eyes turned glassy.

A: You like it?

N: I love it!
He said and took Avni into a bone crushing hug.
It was a painting of them which she made looking at their childhood photograph where they were playing on the beach.

A: Sab theek kar doongi main.
She said in a determined tone.

Neil got confused and broke the hug.

N: What? Kya theek kardogi tum?

A: Painting..... P..Painting theek kardoongi. It needs a bit of detailing. That's it.
She said in a nervous tone but Neil didn't notice it as he was busy admiring the painting.

Dingdong!!!!! The doorbell rang.

A: Who will it be? At this time?

N: Let's see.

They both went downstairs and Neil opened the door.
They were shocked to see the person in front of them..

A tear made its way downwards on Avni's cheek.
