Neil turned to see Avni in a confused look.

Avni: Neil, we need to talk.

Avni's POV
What did just Neil do?
I never expected this from him.
He slapped a man who is his father's age.
What Ahuja uncle said was it true? He is dad's college friend why would he say anything like that?
It was all his genuine concern for his childhood bestie's daughter.
But I cannot doubt Neil. NO, NOT AT ALL.
I know he is a bit overprotective when it comes to his loved ones but he is not obsessive. NO HE'S NOT.
I should trust him. But why did he slap Ahuja uncle when he was saying all this to me. But I'm quite sure he wouldn't have listened to our conversation.
He just saw uncle's hand approaching towards me when he was about to bless me.
He must have thought that the uncomfortable expression on my face was due to his approaching hand but it was due to was due to the things that uncle just said  to me about him.

Avni: Look Neil...

As she was about to continue when she heard a knock on the door.

Avni: Come in.

The door knob clicked and she saw Prakash walking in.

Avni: Good morning uncle!

Prakash: Good morning puttar. Tum log kuch important discuss Kar rahe the kya?

Avni: Nahi uncle. Hum to bas aise hi baatein kar rahe the.

Neil was a little shocked because Avni never said a lie to anyone. She was an honest person. But maybe she didn't want to involve Prakash into all this.

Prakash: Achcha. To main ye kehne aaya tha ki Neil tujhe Thailand jaana hai ek project ke silsile mein. Bohot important deal hai. Main Aur Ashish already busy hain aur Avni ko main akele nahin bhejna chahta. Isliye you are the only option left.

Neil: OK dad. I'll go. Kab jaana hai?

Prakash: Aaj raat ki flight hai. Aur tujhe wahan 1-2 mahine lag sakte hain.

Avni: WHAT??? Uncle neil ke bina itna time main yahan bore ho jaungi. Mere to aur koi friends bhi nhi hain ..
She said making a cute sad face.

Prakash: Main jaanta hoon beta. Iss baar isse jaane de agli baar nhi bhejunga.

Avni: Promise ..
She held out her pinky finger.

Prakash held it with his pinky finger and said
Prakash: Promise

All three of them smiled.
Neil was busy admiring the cute bond between his father and Avni that he just forgot what happened in the same room  a few minutes ago.

Avni: Now what are you thinking? Go pack your bags.
She said to Neil with her hands on her hips.

Neil: Yeah! I'm going.

He was on the door when Avni called out his name.
He stopped and looked back.
She came running towards him and hugged him really tight.
He smiled widely and reciprocated the hug.

Avni: I'll miss you.
She whispered into his ears.

Neil: I'll miss you too Avvuuu....

They broke the hug. She held his hands and looked into his eyes and said
Avni: Jaa Tillu jaa, Jee le apni zindagi.

She smiled and he chuckled at her statement. He left for home to pack his bags.

Prakash was present in the room all this while admiring his children.
He comes up to Avni and side hugs her holding onto her shoulders.

Prakash: Bohot yaad ayegi uski?

Avni: Hmmmm.... Akhir ek wo hi to hai Jo mere bina bole sab samajh jaata hai..

Prakash: hmmm....

They both smiled at each other. Prakash kissed Avni's forehead and left for his conference.

Avni: I'll miss you Tillu!!!
She said to herself as a lone tear escaped her eye. She was not used to him not being around her.
Only she knew how she'll live all these days without scolding him, he not pampering her.....
