[CHAPTER 1]

Hi I'm Hope Taylor I am average height and a  red head young woman and unlike many people my age i had an strange childhood my parents divorced when me and my brother were young and she left my life to go off with her new husband so I was raised by my dad, my dad was the biggest what you would call nerd out there as children he would dress us up as his favourite Star Wars characters which usually resulted as me being either dressed up as Padme or Princess Leia chasing after my brother who was dressed as Luke, and even though he had to work long hours to make sure we had everything we needed he always made sure his spare time was spent on us and during this time we would watch movies and he took us to several nerds conventions such as comic con and he always made us a promise that all of us would go to the biggest one of them all in San Diego but last year he passed away from Cancer his last moments were spent watching my favourite show Once Upon A Time and his last words were "that Sam Witwer dude is great isn't he" he said before he passed away in his sleep.

My dad's death took a long toll on me including my mental health I had always suffered from anxiety and panic attacks which lead to me being the quiet one in school and I only had two friends, this year I decided that I would honour my dads promise my own way and go to the biggest comic con in the world but I couldn't honour it fully my brother Jared was a busy man he worked most of the time and we barely saw each other so I decided to go with my friends this year I had finally got a job that I could finally afford to pay to go. As we landed in San Diego I felt a rush of emotions hit me rather quickly which made me freeze, I just stared into the distance unable to move until I felt a slight warm touch to my shoulder. Which made me jump out of it "Hey you ok" I heard a familiar voice say as I turned round to face them it was my best friend Lily "yeah I think so I just feel a bit" I said before I stopped and she began to speak "a bit emotional" she said as she smiled at me which made me smile "yeah" I said as we began to walk out of the airport holding hands as we reached outside the sun was blaring into our eyes so we stopped and leant against a post to get away from the sun "you know your dad would be proud of you" she said which made my heart sink.

So I breathed out for a few seconds before replying to her "you think" I said questionably as I looked at her to cheer me up she always makes me smile because she's always smiling and tries to make everyone happy around her no matter the cost "yeah you're going to the one place he loved to go, you're making his dream come true" she said which for that moment make me feel that he was watching down on me and he was finally at peace with himself. "Yeah," I said as a cab pulled up in front of us before rolling down its window "Taxi for Hope," he said as he looked at us when it clicked and we picked up our suitcases and placed them into the boot before getting into the cab "you in town for the Comic-Con weekend," he said as we sat down and closed the door behind us, this confused us "your hotel is 5 mins away from the location," he said which made us realise how he knew "is it your first time going," he said questionably "yeah" we said a little excitedly "it's very good, you will have fun this weekend there are loads of big names," he said which made us smile "are you going too," we said questionably. Because he was attractive but wasn't a surprise in most movies about California it was filled with attractive men with mussels and blonde hair.

"We're here," he said as the car began to slow down as we stepped out we saw that the driver jump out of the car and got our cases out for us "such a gentleman," Lily said as she began to flirt with him "no problem," he said as he began to smile at her "I will see you guys at Comic-Con," he said as he began to head back to his car before he turned to face Lily again smiling at her before jumping into his car. As the car began to drive off I poked her arm "what" she said as I looked at her "try hard to much" I said sarcastically "come on" I said as I lifted up the handle on my suitcase and began to head towards the resort door before Lily ran after me "wait for me" he said shouting into the distance as I could hear the sound of her shoes running after me as we reached the doors we looked around us California was the most beautiful place on Earth, it was so colour and bright. "Come on," Lily said as she placed her hand into mine as we smiled at each other before stepping through the doors of the resort it was as colour inside than it was outside. As we headed to the reception we began to smile even more I was so happy to be here because it gave me happy memories of my dad he always talked about this place being his dream.

When we get to the reception counter a lady looked at us smiling "Hello welcome to the sunset lounge, I'm Lucy how can I help you" she said happily "Hi we have a twin room booked under the na,e Taylor" I said smiling back at her before she looked down to her computer and began typing "yes your on the second floor" she said before placing two keycards on the desk in front of her "you're in room 4" she said as she smiled once again "have a great day" she said as we got our keycards and headed to the see-through lift directly in front of us. as we got in we pressed the floor button we needed as the doors closed behind us and we began to head up but we got distracted because in the lift we could see most of LA from the lift we are in. "Wow," we both said at the same time. "It's so beautiful," I said as I began to be mesmerised by the view which made me smile "Dad would have loved it here," I said as I felt tears beginning to build up in my eyes.

"He is here with you," Lily said as she placed her hand on my shoulder but as she did this the lift made a noise and the door began to open. So we turned around and began to get out as we walked I looked around us the hotel was so pretty then we stopped and found our room and went in it was two single beds and the first thing I did was drop my suitcase and looked out of the window at the view and Lily dropped herself onto the bed "I'm in love with this bed already" she said she was the girly girl type she was only at comic con for me she wasn't really a nerd but she was a good friend. As she sat up I headed over to her and sat down on a bed beside her "so what's our plan for the weekend" she said as she looked at me "well I can't wait to cosplay Alison " she said the only way I convinced her to cosplay with me was to get her to Cosplay her favourite character from Pretty Little Liars.
