Vanguard. It was an advert I saw on the computer that day. And if it weren't for that advert, then I wouldn't have ever checked out or googled it.

On that really old computer I found something amazing. It was the anime. Season 1 and 2 were only out back then. Of course, I naturally watched Season 1 and I thought Aichi was a girl so I was confused on if I should be watching this or not (my dumb brain back then made me think if the MC is a girl, then it's a girl show, if the MC is a boy, it's a guy show) but I stuck with it and heard the male pronouns so I watched it. I wanted a Vanguard Deck really badly, but I knew it'd be a waste cause no one else knew about the game.

However, I did eventually get the TD10 which had Revengers. Combining my love for Ren and seeing the TD advertised in a magazine I read, I knew I had to get it. So I ordered it off Amazon and bam, it came. My first vanguard deck.

Fast forward to the ending year of my middle school (I think? You know the school, before you enter highschool) Callum_Sykes49 had mentioned Vanguard to me. You know, I naturally had my hopes shot up and he even showed me his Altmile deck. I was stunned they had a G4 and when I checked out the anime, of course, there was a new season which featured G4. That was Vanguard G.

Then when the day come to play, I went against his properly built Kaiser deck with my pure Trial Deck. I got thrashed not only by him, but by someone else who had a Legend Deck. Mesmerised by the Shadow Paladin deck and it's amazing Grade 4, I knew it was a deck I wanted to get.

When it came to highschool, a friend of mine introduced me to Wattpad. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here. My first experience of Vanguard on Wattpad was looking at YudaiMatsuro 's book which had sample decklists. Because I never really delved into the world of "fanfiction" I checked out the fanfic and bam, I was reading Vanguard fanfiction...?

I met a really cool guy named TrioMato /Stolen_Pages where our shared love for RPing and Vanguard made us RP Vanguard in PM, and before you knew it, Trio had made a Vanguard RP. The Gate Way to so many of my friends.

I had made a book for said Community and I held a tournament. Naturally, I was beaten out by Lucaruth , the best here at the time, but now I'm not sure whose the best... Haha?

Meanwhile at school...

A lot of us were playing vanguard in library. I mean, there was basically a "locals" at our school. I even got a Legend Deck just for that, and somehow I got a Hot Stamp Blaster Dark "Diablo". I was confused on what it was at first, but then I realised I had got something amazing. Of course, I won some matches, but against Ayato I was nothing. I was being thrashed over and over by his Kaisers, and I was getting frustrated. It was fun, but I hated losing. A lot.

Soon, the next year of Highschool began. The Vanguard scene dwindled down. The scraps of the Vanguard Community there were me, Ayato, a Gear Chronicle player and a guy who cheats...

I guess it was fine. Player the cheater and the GC player was not really fun, as both cheated, but by the end of the year the GC player didn't cheat so I was fine with it. But starting next year, since Ayato's leaving, it'll be just us 3. sigh

So, what does that leave me? Here, of course. Vanguard is the only reason why I'm here today, with you guys. My love for this game is what shot me into this realm of a community and uh yeah. Bam, we're here today.

While today might as not be as strong as our current community (so much drama has happened since then, like legit) and people change over time, it's still a fine place to be. I'm glad that I could wreck face with a scrubby Diablo deck, talk trash about Chrono and fight people online.

Well, there's another side of my vanguard story I've yet to share, but this doesn't matter to Wattpad, so yeah.
