True Revenger, Raging Rapt Dragon

[Stride]-Stride Step-[Choose one or more cards with the sum of their grades being 3 or greater from your hand, and discard them] Stride this card on your (VC) from face down.

[AUTO](VC) Limit Break 4:[Counter Blast (1) & Soul Blast (1) & Choose two grade 3 <Abyss Dragon> from your hand, and discard them & Choose two of your rear-guards, and retire them] At the end of the battle that this unit attacked, if you have a heart card with "Raging" in its card name, you may pay the cost. If you do, put this unit into your G zone face up, choose a face down card named "True Revenger, Raging Rapt Dragon" from your G zone, Stride it on your (VC) as [Stand], and it gets drive -1 until end of turn.

Thoughts:

For the first time in my life, I have never disliked a cost for a "Revenger" card so much... The only good thing going about Revenger was the early rush and sub-clan (I love the Masquerades, swinging for 10k or 12k at your opponent is so much fun; specially in this meta where everything is more or less GB restricted) As most of you know, I have a burning HATE for Revengers, mostly because in my eyes, they ruined Shadow Paladin for me.

I swear, everytime I hear Revenger I hear a brain cell of mine die from sheer hate. Jeez...

Anyways, this cost is RIDICULOUS. Not because of how high costed it is, but how specific it is... Not only do you need a Raging heart, but TWO <Abyss Dragon> Grade 3s (throws away Mordred Phantom; which would've been my back up for Raging Decks (and no, I will not be running Hex Slays if I plan to build it, the 9k base hurts it too much)) Limit Break (granted this might be the first time LB is on a G Unit) and a face down copy of it in G Zone... For crying out loud, this is incredily easily yet so painful to set up...

This card already puts a restriction on your deck building choice: You gotta include Raging Forms and atleast 2 Abyss Dragons... This annoys me because Shadow Paladin likes it's grade 1's, and Revengers have waaaay too many good grade 2's to cut from the deck, so deckbuilding is gonna become a NIGHTMARE. Your also gonna need your staples; Darkbless, Maul, Karma Collector (granted you may use Esras, I know I might try and grab a few, mainly because: Holy shit I think I found my new waifu and that Ritual skill, it just 👌), Stride Fodders (need to keep as many grade 3's in hand as possible) and possibly grade1 Masquerade and all the other fun stuff in a Revenger deck (Mana, Blaster Dark, Rukea, Finegas, and a whole other slew of cards)

Also, better start picking up those old Raging Form cards, before the market starts going up in prices because: Hype Train!

Now for the skill, I find it... Well, interesting. This is a first of a "G Persona Ride" as I'll call it (*snicker* G Persona Ride, what is that XD *snicker*) but... It's honestly sub-par to Spectral Blaster.

Yes, we are going there. Comparisons (dear God...)

Now, what I will give Raging Form is the cheaper cost, Revengers are counterblast heavy, so 1 cb is like heaven on Earth. The soulblast doesn't hurt; Howl Owl can fix that (although if your thinking about running Swordbreaker or Liafail, we might have soul issues) and the retire two only means you need to retire two *NON* (yes, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RETIRE REVENGERS! *cheers* David has finally found another use (I was gonna replace my starter with Rute in all honesty XD)) units, which is nice, so you don't minus your board too much. And the discard two... Was just really bad. Why don't you make it grade 3 Revengers?! That way, I can run my Mordred Phantom Break Ride back up! (They really are pushing players to use Hex Slayes :v)

And a really small, minor, complaint. What's up with his name? Rapt? It's really weird... Raging Punisher Dragon or even Raging Revenger Dragon would've sounded cooler than... Raging Rapt? It sounds like it's trying to be an edgy velociraptor when I heard the name XD

Good things about Raging Rapt-
¤ Doesn't need to retire Revengers (this gives us a bit more freedom and makes David a decent starter, unless we use Judgebau, because he is viable using Phantom Blaster "Diablo" (then again, how many times will Diablo hit anyways? He's your finisher for Gods sake XD)
¤ 1 counterblast
¤ Can do it more than once
¤ That art

Bad things about Raging Rapt-
¤ Revenger
¤ Painful set up
¤ Discard is VERY specific
¤ Hurts trying to build decks
¤ That name

Now, let's examine one of my favourite cards in Shadow Paladin-

Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster "Diablo"

This card... Made me a very happy boy.

Another "Blaster" stride (makes Blaster Dark "Diablo" already a trainwreck GB2 that much better) is always nice, "Diablo" support (I love Diablo to death) and just a good, generic Shadow stride.

Good things about Spectral-
¤ Generic
¤ Easier cost
¤ Diablos!
¤ Better restander
¤ That art

Bad things about Spectral-
¤ Wastes more CB
¤ Need to retire more
¤ If you only want to retire two at most, your gonna need a Diablo heart
¤ One of the better skill is Heart restricted (still good generic restand)

Now, would you run Revengers only other stride, or this dude?

I'd run Spectral Blaster, mainly because it's more flexible. Removing that Abyss Dragon restriction gives us some freedom. Plus it can flip ANYTHING.

While Rapt needs to run itself for the restand. (Ouch)

To be honest, you may even just wanna run this card aswell. You can get Limit Break up easily, while Spectral is a GB3 skill.

But then again, there is that awkward grade 3 Abyss Dragon restriction... (DAMN YOU BUSHIROAD)

Also, Spectral doesn't need a specific heart for the restand skill, so Rapt, eat your heart out.

And yes, I know that Spectral can only do it once, but c'mon... That much set up for an extra restand that will only give you a plus 5? I'd rather run Aurageyser for that pluses (granted triple drive isn't a plus, but it's still an extra 5 in hand)

And you don't need to slay stuff all at once for Spectral... XD
Rapt is during battle phase, so you better have attacked with your two units (or David)

Oh yeah, Charon is accessible for Spectral. (You basically just got 4 extra Davids)

So... In the end of this shitstorm I made (with some weak and strong points) do I dislike Rapt?

Nah, I might proxy a Revenger Raging Form deck with 4 Spectrals and 4 Rapt for restand shenattigans.

Do I dislike Revengers?

*takes out lighter*
Do I really need to answer?

Do you hope for good Revenger support?

Grade 1 wise, maybe. Grade 2. PLEASE DON'T. WE ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH. Plus I want Luard stuff, I'm making a deck when I can get my hands on the english one definitely.

You gonna build a Revenger deck?

Nah fam

Comment down your thoughts on this card, I was hoping something a bit more generic, but hey, whatever!

So, with this outta my system, a more calm Fox, out!
