Welcome to the end. It seems you've made it through 49 chapters, 7 Q n As and 4 OP/EDs worth of my writing. Whether you enjoyed it or not, what awaits at the end is a warm "thank you", from me.

On the 14th April, it was Z World's official one year anniversary. Honestly, it was a sheer coincidence that Z World's final chapter, #49: Yza Blade, was published on the 13th, a single day before then.

Through this long year, I've always asked myself this one question: has my writing improved, or gotten worse?

There's no lie that certain parts of Z World past the first three or so chapters already shows my writing going downhill. In all honesty, descriptive, technical and tightly-written prose will never be my thing, but it's always fun to attempt to do so.

It's just a shame I'll always struggle to try and describe stuff in perfect detail and in a way that flows well, but practice makes perfect. I think I really exhausted everything I had during the final volume. I think the best chapter was 45, if we're talking about the most technical prose writing.

My writing will never be up to scratch to actual published works, but in a way that's okay. That's the unique charm of Z World. It's the fact I decided to try and push myself to make this story without cutting any corners. It's kind of like a home-grown feeling, I suppose.

However, in my journey to claw from the bottom to the very top, something quite unexpected happened.

While being gloomy about Z World's consistent dropping of ranking in the cardfightvanguard, vanguard, and cardfight tags, it had somehow managed to get on to the top ten of the shounen tag. Slowly, over time, Z World had managed to break into the 3rd place ranking.

At first I thought nothing of it, but on the day of the anniversary, Z World had astonishingly gotten #1.

I'm both humbled and shocked at this achievement.

I could declare proudly, that my book was the Number 1 Shounen on Wattpad.

Of course, that title didn't last for very long, but while I was king of Wattpad shounen, strangely, no real emotions had changed in me.

I was self-fulfilled for sure. Happy, excited, over the moon and bridled with joy. But I felt like my usual prideful self, in the end. It felt all the same. It felt like nothing had really changed.

That's one thing I didn't expect. Once you're on top, where can you go now? I asked myself that when I reached that point.

My knee jerk reaction turned back to the norm. I was still proud, but the thing was, I was always proud of my work. Proud of the effort I put it in. Proud of how I became dedicated at my job.

Perhaps after all this time of trying to claw my way up the ranks, the struggles I've felt self-fulfilled at the start.

It was good enough I had my friends read my story.

But now, with the chance of even more people possibly stumbling and giving my book a chance, I can't help but smile humbly.

However, this wouldn't have been possible at all without my fans who checked in every week, and showed their support consistently by commenting or voting.

It means the world to me, seeing my inbox bombarded with that kind of stuff. It makes writing chapters worth it.

I'm sorry this is all I can do. A measly shout-out can't ever equate to how much gratitude and thanks I owe to you all.

Oh, and thanks for reading to the ghost readers too. I know you guys exist but don't say anything.

I swear I don't bite. I actually love replying to comments~

Side note, can we get an F in the chat for my guy Kyle? He deleted his Wattpad account and he was one of the OG readers. (F)

Anyways, this Afterword is getting a bit lengthy, isn't it?

I know I'll forgot to say something while writing it, but that can't be helped.

Now, it's time for a more serious talk.

With volume 7 concluding, this marks the end of Z World saga. However, this doesn't mean this fanfiction is finished.

If you think I'm going to stop here, you'll be dead wrong. I have content up my sleeve to last me another 60 something chapters.

I hope you'll be ready for the next stage of Z World.

This might be the end of our heroes fighting Gyze, but it's just the start of the story I've been waiting to tell.

One thing for sure, is to not miss it.

Now, with all that being said, I'm going to take a break from Z World now. A long hiatus, to just relax and drift along life.

I've been working with only three or so weeks worth of break. If I continue going on like this, I might end up burning myself out.

That's one thing I hated most doing Z World's publication. A chapter every week is extremely hard. You have to be extremely dedicated to your work to do so, and not all your chapters will be perfect. This book is littered with mistakes even after I checked through the chapters thoroughly.

But, I'll continue to grind until somehow life stops me and forces me to slow down. I found that being ten or so chapters ahead of schedule being much easier to manage, but also makes you more lazy.

With that all being said, you're not here to hear my difficulties. No, no. You're here to celebrate Z World's temporary end with me. I hope.

So, what's in store now?

Well, there's a couple things I'll show you. Volume 8 is what's coming up next, and these are the chapter covers! (Release dates not included, as I don't know when I'll return)

Entrusting these mysterious chapter covers to you lot, I'll now leave you hanging on what'll happen next.

For the last time until my hiatus ends,

That's all, Fox out!
