Blaster Dark "Diablo" and Chronojet Dragon Z stood prominently in the centre, battling against White Dragon Knight, Pendragon.

"Comrade, be amazed by our super cute illusions! Together, with the mistress of transformation! I ride our avatar, Stealth Beast, Metamorfox!" Rem exclaimed.

"Rem?! You're here too!" Yza and Ryuzaki exclaimed.

"I hope you saved some action for me, comrades! I'll hold him off, you go get him where it hurts, right in the CFArea!" Rem exclaimed.

Metamorfox created a smokescreen of red mist to confuse the enemy and block the Legion's multiple attacks. Phantom Blaster "Diablo" struck back, crushing Thing Saver and Blaster Blade Seeker under his Damned Charging Lance, while Heritage created a time loop repeating these events until Thing Saver, and by extension Pendragon, was dead.

"Let's end this once and for all. Festering in the darkness is the king of hunters, a bandit with claws sharp as steel. Stride the Generation. Lawless Mutant Deity, Obitirandus." Yahame exclaimed.

"All these fools get to witness the power of the immortal god of combat! If they get in the way, I'll throw those weaklings into the darkest corners of the galaxy! Stride with an extra dollop of coolness, Favourite Champ, Victor!" Usui exclaimed.

"Generation Stride! Pure light born from the days of bright, erase the evils born of the darknesses of the night! Arcadia Star, Coral!" Haruka exclaimed.

To bide time for Destroyer and Dragstrider's combo attack, Victor led the charge with Tibold covering from above. Obitirandus singlehandedly fended their blitzkrieg, but once the preparations were complete, Destroyer paralysed Obitirandus in his Scarface Net. Unable to move or dodge it, Dragstrider's loop burnt him to a crisp.

Tetra-drive had an extremely easy time attacking and defending due to his two shoulder mounted barrel cannons that compressed moisture in the air into pressurised streams of water he could shoot at his opponents like a powerful hose. However, Tetra-drive became distracted when he soaked Minerva's clothes, giving him a peek at her bare skin and naked body. This angered Shiranui "Rinne" greatly, who used the opening to repeatedly stab Tetra-drive in the back with his six swords, killing him in the process.

Dark Zodiac and Astro Reaper laughed as they omega locked everyone's allies, rendering them powerless, except for two. As if seeing double, Spectral Duke and Spectral Blaster "Diablo" charged right at them. The first to strike was Spectral Duke, twice, followed by Spectral Blaster "Diablo", twice, drowning Dark Zodiac and Astro Reaper in an inferno of violet flames.

"Generation Zone, release! Swing down from the sky and storm the enemy with your soulless sword! Tempest-calling Pirate King, Goauche, Stride!" Max exclaimed.

"By the power of Futsu-no-mitama flowing through and breaking the limits of Kusanagi and Ame-no-murakumo... now witness! The divine power that rivals the most legendary of legends! Generation Stride! State Affair Subjugation Deity, Kamususanoo!" Tai exclaimed.

"Lead us, the warriors of the United Sanctuary, to the perfect battle! Cut down our enemies, King of Knights' Vanguard, Ezzell! Legion, seek mate! The warrior that bonds the knights together, arise my avatar! King of Knights, Alfred!" Kane exclaimed.

Gouache was backed into a corner by Chronoscommand Revolution, who made his field disappear. Nightrose approached him reluctantly with a sullen look in her eyes. Tightening the grip on her swords, anger surfaced on her face. Letting go of that anguish inside of her for good, Nightrose plunged the sword deep inside Gouache's heart. Gouache didn't struggle or fight back. He simply accepted it.

"Heed the call of victory and crush the enemy as their scream raises the curtains for a new chapter of pain! Simply put, he's better than you! I ride my avatar, Eradicator, Sweep Command Dragon!" Kanata exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Seizing any chance that appears, scavenger of the blue night, awaken! Generation Stride, One who Hunts Souls, Balaam!" Zeon exclaimed.

"Blue flames that dance and risk everything to protect their pride, burn them all to the ground! Imprison them, my avatar! Bluish Flame Liberator, Prominence Glare! Now legion, and seek mate! Regulation Liberator, Aglovale!" Dax exclaimed.

"In war, only two things matter. The first, your ability to gather information. The second, the amount of firepower you have! Prepare for bombardment! Gun them down and rid them with bullets, Excite Battle Sister, Stollen, Generation Stride!" Kizari exclaimed.

Sweep Command worked exceptionally well with Impede Dragon to stamp out aggressive advancements from the enemies, but this tactic was rendered useless once Mukuro dominated the vanguard. Controlling his actions, Mukuro made Sweep Command offer his soul to Balaam, who happily accepted and ate it. All Mukuro controlled now was a lifeless husk of a body.

"Get away from me you freak! Begone with the power of darkness! I cross ride my avatar, Great Dark Mage, Badhabh Caar!" Mineta exclaimed.

"Locked behind time is a realm of infinite possibilities! Only you have the key to that gate, my avatar! Break open that mysterious future, Breastflare Dragon! Generation Zone, release! The twelve crystals of time are bound by the twelve rules of the multiverse! Do you know them all? Generation Stride, Deus Ex Machina, Demiurge!" Hanafi exclaimed.

The clouds parted and the sky turned golden as Demiurge was summoned to the world from it's eternal slumber. Hiding between the cleavage of Breastflare Dragon's boobs was the key to awakening the Deus Ex Machina. To assert dominance, Demiurge T-Posed, instantly killing Badhabh Caar, who couldn't comprehend such power.

"The true embodiment of fearsome... appear from the wavy waves of the seven seas dude... he's like, totally rad... I surf my avatar... King of Demonic Seas, Basskirk!" Shigaraki exclaimed.

Basskirk exploded with undead energy as he activated his megablast, reviving a huge army of zombies. Chaos Breaker Deluge swiped his hand, locking them all in an instant, while Tirua attacked him with the help of Fianna and CoCo. Being pressured from all sides by the veteran units, Basskirk surrendered, unable to battle.

"Make this fight quick! I'm starving! I want Papa OwOs! I need my fix of Papa OwOs! And I want it now! Beware! This is the maiden who will send you to Papa OwOs! I ride my avatar! Witch of Cursed Talisman, Etain!" Akiyo exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Silence those who oppose us with that menacing smile of bewitching charm and attack from the mist! Generation Stride, Mist Phantasm Pirate King, Nightrose!" Yuri exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Give me strength, proud and noble knight with pure white wings! Generation Stride! Holy Divine Knight, Gancelot Peace Saver!" Hiyoku exclaimed.

"Appear now, sacred power the dwells within my soul! With the light of hope, liberate despair from the world! Generation Stride! Sunrise Ray Radiant Sword, Gurguit!" Ayo exclaimed.

Under normal circumstances, Etain had an ability to let her retire another rear-guard when she was attacked, letting her stop attacks before they could happen. However, because Egorg was there, she was deleted time and time again, unable to activate it. With base zero power, she quickly succumbed to the wounds dealt by the three kings: Driger, Nebiros, and Nightrose.

"This angel's blade shall be used to protect my king. Now fall before me. I ride my avatar, Holy Edge Celestial, Malchidael. To protect my king, this pure angel will fall too. Now legion and seek mate. Dosage Celestial, Asmodel." Kurumi exclaimed.

"Generation Zone, release! March forward! Unleash your never ending barrage and carve the terror of a real battlefield to their core! Generation Stride! Flare Arms, Ziegenburg!" Inu exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Students, surpass the legendary teacher in a flood to become the best! Generation, Stride! Sage-saint Professor, Bigbelly!" Neko exclaimed.

Malchidael and Asmodel radiated a black aura as they descended lower and lower, getting closer to the battlefield. While they had a more advantageous position in the sky, the flying Daikaiser Leon and Ziegenburg had aerial superiority over them. Alfred Holy Saver raised his sword of kings, summoning forth Blaster Blade to his side. Together, the two attacked the fallen angels, banishing their evil and giving them salvation.

"I guess it's time to get serious... yawn. Those who oppose the king must be punished. Suffer... and off with your head! I ride my avatar, Queen of Nightmareland, Hartud!" Shinzo exclaimed.

"Generation Stride! Righteous blade that cleaves through the darkness, eradicate the enemy with one blazing swoop! Immortal Holy Sword, Fides Stride!" Kotaro exclaimed.

"Soul of a noble knight blessed by the divine light, turn your unwavering faith into infinite power! I ride my avatar, Bluish Flame Liberator, Percival! Seek the mate! Gather high up in the heavens, great warriors whose hearts are connected as one! Now together, break through the detestable darkness that binds us all! Legion! Oath Liberator, Aglovale!" Raika exclaimed.

"Mighty warrior with great ambition! To defeat all those who oppose us, summon strength from within! I ride my avatar, Ambitious Spirit Revenger, Cormack! Bathe yourselves willingly in claret flames to show your resolution! Legion and seek mate, Fighting Spirit Revenger, Macart!" Mamoru exclaimed.

"Now, I stride! The abomination of malice, war, and domination that has spawned from darkness... consume my soul and wreck havoc to satisfy your needs! Generation Stride! Abominable One, Gilles de Rais!" Rikishi exclaimed.

Hatrud's defensive power-up helped her survive a jazz-hand onslaught from Fides, but was useless against Amaruda Aphross. By activating her skill, she restood Angelic Wiseman, who gave Hartrud a rude awakening in a never ending loop of glory and revelations.

"Explosive entrance! Explosive attacks! Explosive tactics! Prepare for a festival of explosive bursts! Generation Stride! Divine Hand, Good End Dragger!" Daiki exclaimed.

"Awaken! Strength found from within, manifest yourself in our intertwined life! Cross it, loathe it, destroy it, Dragabyss, Luard!" Shouri exclaimed.

"Now be reborn by the Samsara's flame. Kneel down before my sword and slumber, o loveless one! Generation Stride! Steel Blade Shura Stealth Dragon, Hayakujirakan!" Oni exclaimed.

"Unleashing the Generation Zone! Generation Stride... Great Demon, Soulless Demagogue!!" Callum exclaimed.

"Listen to it! The heavens cautioning you! This is your warning! 3... 2... 1...! You have been warned! Conquering Supreme Dragon, Dragonic Kaiser Warning, DISCHARGE!!!" Ayato exclaimed.

"Under the moon, a rose falls, and it's dead corpse blooms into a silver bud, reaching for life. Go towards it, and be entranced by it's Venus petals! I cross ride, Silver Thorn Dragon Empress, Venus Luquier!" Izanoku exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! No matter if you are superior or inferior, as long as she bats her wings and flashes her sickles, death is engraved in your fate! Generation Stride, Poison Sickle Mutant Deity, Overwhelm!" Zak exclaimed.

"In the face of overwhelming odds, break all seals that bind you! Shatter the limits! Now unleash true editorial wrath, flames of hell! I ride my avatar, Hellfire Seal Dragon, Blockade Inferno!" Amatsuyu exclaimed.

"GET READY YOU FUCKING BASTARD, CUZ THIS AIN'T GOING IN SOFT! TAKE ALL THE ANGER AND SPITE YOU HAVE, AND TURN IT INTO YOUR ABSOLUTE REVENGE! MERCY AIN'T GONNA BE SHOWN! GENERATION STRIDE! TRUE REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVENGER, RAGING RAPT DRAGON!" Fubuki screamed.

Good End looked up to see Warning with his arms crossed as he stood in front of grey clouds that rumbled with anger. Pointing his lance at him, Warning released a huge discharge of lightning at Good End, shocking him back into Bad End Dragger. In this state, the two abyss dragons, Dragabyss and Raging Rapt, ganged up on him, cracked their knuckles, and let loose their rage by beating him up.

"It's time for a magical evening, so sit back and watch this spectacular performance that only happens once in a blue moon! I ride, Masked Phantom, Harri!" Lucine exclaimed.

"Black angel, your sweet smile is just a mask of lies. Let's show her the demon that is hidden underneath. Ride! Black Shock, Gavrail Prim!" Shisue exclaimed.

Harri and Gavrail clashed their staff and scissors against each other, entering a deadlock where neither of them refused to budge and back down.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a special act for you today that only happens once in a blue moon! Shine under the moonlight, my avatar! Generation stride! Masquerade Master, Harri!"

Flames spiralled out of the purple orb in Harri's staff, wrapping itself around him like a curtain. Exploding open with confetti, Masquerade Master emerged from the spectacle, tipping his hat at Gavrail, and unleashing a meteor shower of pigeons from inside it.

The flock of birds attacked Gavrail all at once, pecking her with their hot beaks, but suddenly dispersed when Harri was slammed in the back, falling to the ground. Gavrail's eyes widened as she saw who came to her aid.

It was Ranunculus of Phantasmic Blue, Ahsha.

"Maiden of blue flowers. Descend from the gates of the dreamworld, slash through despair, and open the door to a new future. I ride my avatar! Ranunculus of Phantasmic Blue, Ahsha!" Atsumu exclaimed.

"A-Atsumu?" Shisue was shocked to see her half-brother take her side.

"Shisue... forgive me for interfering in your fight, but I've made up my mind. If this is the path you want to follow, then I'll support you fully."

"How did you know...? That I blackmailed them?"

"I know people in the underground too. They told me about what was happening."

"Then forget what you heard. Pretend it never happened. I want to keep you out of this. You're not suited for the underworld. Just go back and keep publishing books. I can handle this by myself."

"No, I'm not leaving you alone again. If you believe this is right, then so will I. I don't care if it's illegal, I don't care if it's wrong, and I don't care what anyone else thinks. As your brother... no, as the Avenger of Ahriman, it is my sworn duty to protect the heiress of the Ikumashi family!"

With the back of his fist, Atsumu hit the centre of his chest, where his frail heart was, as anger filled his lifeless eyes.

"Even if all the bones in my body break, even if I'm struggling to breathe, and even if my heart stops beating entirely, I'll get up again and again to protect you, Shisue! You're the only relative I have anymore! I won't lose you like we did mom and dad!"

"B-brother..." Shisue lowered her head and closed her eyes. "No... this time, I'll be the one to protect you. You're always saving me when danger comes our way, so this time it's my turn."

Gavrail stepped forward, her whole body shimmering in a black celestial light.

"Breaking open the Generation Zone... Generation Break 8. The demon is unleashed from it's chain, muttering the prayer for ataraxia. Terminate the view of the scenery, physically and spiritually, so you can part this fake world with a smile, my avatar. Stride the Generation, Black Seraph, Vellator Terminal!"

Shisue opened her eyes and slammed the card down on the vanguard circle, making it expand pitch black with white stars inside.

"Vellator Terminal attacks!"

Vellator Terminal pointed her eight syringes at Harri, charging them up with power. The barrels of neon coloured liquids began glowing, transforming from medicine to raw mana, the most pure, unadulterated, and powerful form of it. Harri staggered back, looking away and covering his face as the light expanding from Vellator Terminal's syringes blinded him.

"This is... the Philosophy of the Underworld!"

The mana stored in Vellator Terminal's syringes couldn't be contained anymore. They fired out wildly, going in all random directions. Harri cowered, screaming as he had been hit several times by her explosive light show.

Subtly, Vellator Terminal twisted her syringes away from Harri, making the rest of the mana fire any from him. Harri, on the brink of death, was surprised to see she didn't take her chance finish him off. She had stopped just short of killing him.

"Turn end."

Lucine's eyes widened as Shisue didn't rest her final rear-guard. It was an attack that was guaranteed to win her the game, but she didn't take it.

"A-are you sure?"

Shisue nodded.

"You know what this means, don't you?"

"I..." Lucine shook her head. "Yes, I do!"

"Good." Shisue smiled.

Harri picked up his staff and ran towards Vellator Terminal, who was beginning to fade away. Plunging his staff into her chest, Harri screamed loudly, in courage and regret.

In the space between the future Vellator and present Gavrail, an outside entity, Harri's staff, had interfered with their transition— Vellator couldn't turn back into Gavrail. She was stuck in the present, even though she was supposed to be from the future.

Unable to go back to her original timeline, the twelfth rule of time occurred, erasing Vellator from the present.

With his own two hands, Harri had expunged Vellator, and by extension, Gavrail, the host.

"What the hell Shisue? Why did you lose on purpose?! I thought you were on our side!" Kuro exclaimed.

"I was on your side, Kuro. At least, for a little bit." Shisue said. "After living in both the surface and underworld, I've decided where I want to stay for good. It's here, in this city. It was fun while it lasted, right?"

"You betrayed me... I hired you for a job! Have some integrity and see it through!"

"Nah. Riku's a pretty cool person, so I'm fine with letting her dirty secret be swept under the rug. Besides, instead of wasting time asking me to blackmail her, maybe you should've... I don't know, gotten better at Vanguard?"

"Shisue Ikumashi... damn you!" Kuro hit the fight table. "Whatever! I can still win against these two!"

"Not a snowball's chance in hell you will!" Riku shouted.

"Huh? What did you say? All I heard was bullshit!" Rentaro cackled.

"My fate is my own, and I'll weave it in my image! I am the Supreme Primearch of the Underworld, Your Majesty! Ride! Majesty Lord Blaster!" Kuro exclaimed.

"Liberating the Generation Zone! Star-bound commander gazing at destiny, rip through all adversaries with your immeasurable blade! Generation Stride, Marshal General of Surging Seas, Alexandros!" Riku exclaimed.

"Generation Zone, release! Spiralling in red rings, reincarnate into death itself! Destroy the opponent's hope by showing the signs of the end! Fill them with despair, Generation Stride! Death Star-vader, Glueball Avalanche!" Rentaro exclaimed.

Majesty Lord Blaster parried Alexandros' immeasurable blade with the sword of Blaster Dark in his left hand, and absorbing the plasma beams coming from Avalanche's super dreadnought cannon with the sword of Blaster Blade in his right hand.

"I AM THE TRUE STRONG MAN."

Last Card, Revonn raised his sword into the air, rushing towards Majesty Lord Blaster out of nowhere.

"For the sake of a brighter future! Cut through this despairing destiny and strike down the enemies at the speed of a shooting star! I ride my avatar, Last Card, Revonn!"

Walking onto the stage while pushing up his glasses up was Takaaki Kidani, the CEO of Bushiroad.

"A trump card is only played at the end...... for that victorious moment! A trump card that surpasses this does not exist in this world! This is the last image you will ever see!! God of Stoicheia!!!"

A ripple of green light exploded from Revonn's sword as he slashed Majesty Lord Blaster in half.

The green light of Kidani flowed through the festival, followed by fireworks of celebration, and victory.

"I quit..." Kuro muttered, laying face up on the floor. "I quit Vanguard..."

"If you quit, I quit. As the First Knight, I am your faithful and loyal sword. I will go wherever you go, sir." Hayato said.

"King, you can't quit! Who's going to lead the underworld if you go?!" Saaya exclaimed.

"Without you here, it will become a lot more lonely." Kurumi said.

"That's not cool dude... have you thought about... what will happen to us... if you quit...?" Shigaraki said.

"You just got your ass beat by the CEO! You can't quit now! We need to hit the underground bar and brag about it to everyone else!" Kanata exclaimed.

"King! You're insane! Vanguard is fun! Don't quit! If you quit, I quit Papa OwOs! You don't want to see me when I haven't had Papa OwOs!" Akiyo threatened.

"You won't quit, and I'll prove it by challenging you to a children's card game! In the mean time, I'll just stand here and pretend I don't have a boner." Nin said, looking at Kidani.

"Yawn... if you're gone, then the underground will get noisier... yawn... which is going to make it more difficult for me to sleep... yawn..." Shinzo yawned.

"If you quit, I'm going back to that preppy rich kids private boarding school." Daiki growled.

"Instead of quitting, take a break." Yahame said.

"I'm not close to you, but those who are would be sad to hear you quit Vanguard." Max said.

"If you quit, can I be the new King pog?" Mineta asked.

Kuro listened to his followers and sat up slowly. Surrounded by all of them, he gazed at their faces one by one. Putting up his hood, he shook his head.

"I'll come back some day."

Standing up, he smiled slightly and waved goodbye to his subjects before walking away.

"An underground without a King or Queen... what are we going to do?" Kurumi asked.

"We'll honour Your Majesty's wish and wait for his return. Until then, the underground... will enter a ruleless era." Hayato said.

The denizens of the underworld returned to where they belonged.

"Holy fucking shit... what is the CEO of Vanguard doing here?!" Yza exclaimed.

"Huh, I don't remember paying to get the TRUE STRONG MAN as a guest..." Ryuzaki muttered.

"Me and Comrade Kidani are friends. I call for help." Rem explained.

"Good to see I arrived just in time to take one of them out. Sorry for running late, the fax machine broke down, and the printer also stopped working." Kidani bowed.

"I-it's fine, sir... you're an inspiration, sir!" Yza bowed even lower than him.

"Kidani is fine. I don't like being overly formal."

"So cool...! Thank you Kidani! Can I get your autograph?!"

"Sure. Where do you want me to sign it?"

"Here! On my hoodie!" Yza pointed at his right chest.

"Sure thing." Kidani signed Yza's hoodie using a sharpie.

"Oh my god, thank you! I'll wear this for the rest of my life!"

"Kidani, since you're already here, why don't you stay and watch the concert in one of our VIP booths?" Ryuzaki asked.

"I'd love to Ryuzaki, but there's a lot of paperwork stacked in my office I need to do."

"We have Bandori idols attending."

"You son of a bitch, I'm in."

After clearing up the stage, the concert started, opening up with the final ever live performance from the idol NAITO.

"It's been an honour to sing for everyone! But after today... I'll be retiring and releasing new songs under my real name from now on. Thank you everyone who has patiently waited for this announcement. To celebrate this being my return to the music scene as well as my final live, I'll be doing a special duet with Kyouya Tsubasa!"

Kyouya ran on stage, spinning around and winking at the crowd.

"Hello, everybody! You weren't expecting me, were you? Me and NAITO go way back! During one of our rehearsals, we promised each other that we'd do a duet live someday."

"And today is the day. This is a special song, dedicated to all of you here! The Last Starlight!"

Sat under the shade of the Yggdrasil tree in V22 was Ryuusei Kirukiru and Kristy Shinsei. Kristy was picking flowers from the ground while Ryuusei was weaving them together to form a flower crown.

"Hey, Kristy?"

"Yeah, Ryuu-niichan?"

Ryuusei gently placed the completed flower crown on her head with a smile.

"Let's go home."
