The show take's place in the year 9595 A.D. But centurie's ago, in the year 3015, human's fought in a war that ponies call "The Last World War". But to the human's, it was called "World War III". This caused the human's to eliminate themselve's from existence.

Draconequus's, like Discord, were actually creacher's created by american scientists to help them win the war. They had unfathomable and chaotic power's. But the enemy's found out how to kill these creacher's. Discord is now the only Draconequus alive.

Ponies not only survived, but evolved!! Some of them grew a horn, creating the Unicorn's, some grew wing's, creating the Pegisi, but special one's grew both, giving birth to the Alicorn's. The dragon's also re-evolved at the time.

The creacher's of Equestria, including Timberwolve's, Griffon's, Fruit Bat's, Jackalope's, Parasprite's, Quarray Eel's, and the many other monster's (excluding the one's from mythology) are result's if the massive amount's of radiation from the atomic bomb's used in the war.
