Chat Zombie looks up as the waiter asks, "Should I add your friend to your tab?"

He shrugs his shoulders as he checks his pockets.

He sighs in relief.  Yes, he brought his wallet.

Plagg laughs.  "I will pay for my meal, thank you."  He hands the waiter a nice tip.

"Thank you, it is very generous of you, sir."

The waiter goes to help other customers.

Plagg goes to the buffet. He puts some salad, rice, two spring rolls, some duck sauce, and a generous helping of the Camembert on his plate. He makes sure to get some silverware, a napkin, and a glass of milk.

As he heads back to the table he sees Chat Zombie in line with a plate full of creamed corn, and bacon.  He shakes his head.  What is going to do with this boy?

He sits down relieved no one has recognized either of them yet. It would be rather embarrassing if they were on the news or something.

Chat Zombie sits back across from Plagg. He digs into the corn first, then the bacon.

         "You disgust me!"

"Oh, me?  You are the one to talk. May I remind you how many times you eat Camembert?"

The other customers turn their heads to see what the ruckus is about.  It appears to be two business partners in an argument.  They shake their heads and go back to their meals.

Plagg rolls his eyes. How dare anyone insult his beloved Camembert.

After the third and final fourth trips to the buffet, Chat sighs with contentment.

The waiter frowns as he points to him. The manager comes over with a ticked-off expression on his face.

"You have a  lot of nerve coming in here and eating up all the bacon.  On the first day, it is opened to the public too. What do you have to say for yourself, young man?"

He grabs him by his collar.

Plagg slips some money from the lad's wallet into the manager's other hand and some into the waiter's too.

"Come on and be a good boy, it is time to go home now."

"Yes, go both of you!  As for you do not ever let me catch you in here again!"

         "What?"

"It said All you Can Eat Buffet, and I had all I could eat." Chat Zombie tries to argue.

"There is no sense in trying to reason with them, let's be on our way now, sir."

The zombie cat nods his head in shame as he and Plagg are thrown out on the sidewalk. How embarrassing!

Good thing he is the living dead or it would be even more awkward.

He and Plagg head home. Once inside, Plagg shakes his hand at him.

"What were you thinking?  I told you not to go there."

"I know, but it worked. I mean no one recognized us."

"True, but now we cannot either there again and I thought about taking Tikki there for a date sometime."  Plagg spat out in anger.

The zombie boy cat sits with his head in his lap.

         "Sorry, Plagg."

The other customers at the restaurant had mixed feelings about the whole incident. Some felt it was unfair to kick Plagg and the Cat Boy out as they were paying customers. Others thought they deserved it for hogging all the bacon and most of the Camembert. A few recorded it, and the rest felt it was a shame the manager and waiter got involved in the first place. It was downright distasteful treating the patrons this way.

The newspaper gave the story the first page the next day with a photo of the Zombie Cat and his friend in a nice black suit and tie below the article.

           Plagg was furious.

        "We made the front page."

      "Cool, we are famous!"

the story continues in Chapter 3  Front Page News
