They saw Maria, the girl with ocean-like eyes, and another man lying on the floor like dead bodies, with blood flowing from the man's forehead. They immediately understood the reason for the gunshot and its consequences.

"Fuck! What happened here in such a short time that three dead bodies are forced to welcome us?" DK asked his roommate, his expression a mix of shock, confusion, and curiosity.

Ron rushed over to the girl in silence, seated himself on the floor, and began to check her pulse by grasping her hand.

"She is still alive!" Ron uttered, releasing a deep sigh of relief while closing his eyes.

"But the man is dead. What about Maria? Let me check." With that, DK sat down on the floor to check their target's condition.

"Thank God! Our prey is alive, which means our mission is successful. We will get the promotion!" DK said with excitement and happiness in his voice, smiling from ear to ear. However, his excitement quickly faded when he glanced at his partner and saw his burning eyes filled with anger.

"I want to say, we need to admit them to the hospital immediately so we can interrogate our prey as soon as possible," DK said, clearing his throat to change the topic and calm his colleague. Ron nodded in reply.

At that moment, three police officers entered the room. One of them spoke politely, "Mr. Whitley and Mr. Wilson, the ambulance is waiting outside. We will take them to the hospital and ensure they receive proper care. You can go back home to rest as soon as possible without any worries. I understand you must be tired after driving almost eight hours to get here."

"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Cook, but we are not going anywhere. This is our area of expertise, and we've been involved in this case from the beginning. Don't forget, I was the one who informed you to come here; otherwise, you wouldn't have had the chance to see Maria again. Please refrain from arguing or provoking us, as we may be compelled to report your behavior as a complaint! Our mission was to apprehend Maria alive, and we will return to New York with these criminals!" in the last few sentences, DK warned him in a serious tone.

"No, Mr. Wilson, you're misunderstanding me. I just wanted to say..." Mr. Cook began, but he was interrupted by Ron's deep, serious voice.

"DK, we are running late! Help me get them into the ambulance!" after saying this firmly, he looked at Mr. Cook with a cold gaze, causing him to shut his mouth.

"Hmm," DK uttered in reply. Then Ron lifted the unknown girl in a bridal style, and DK did the same with Maria. Afterward, they started walking downstairs together, ignoring Mr. Cook and their team.

After they left, Mr. Cook ordered one of his junior officers with an irritated expression, placing both hands on his waist, "Why are you standing here like a statue? Put your gloves on and start your work quickly!"

"Yes, Sir," the junior officer replied and began working with the other officers. One of them started taking pictures of the dead body from various angles, capturing every detail of the room as evidence. Another officer donned gloves and began collecting items such as the gun, glass, drinks bottle, and other objects from the floor and the room, placing them into separate bags for evidence.

After coming downstairs, they noticed something strange that caused them to furrow their brows in curiosity. They saw the four bouncers lying unconscious on the floor, their hands free. If any of them regained consciousness, they could easily escape without any resistance.

After seeing them, DK exclaimed in a furious tone, "What the hell? Why aren't any of them wearing handcuffs? Have they all come here to watch drama or give us lectures about their so-called responsibilities, which are filled with irresponsibility?"

"Or have they come here to destroy all the evidence under the guise of helping us?" Ron whispered to his partner, his voice filled with concern, his eyes reflecting worry. DK widened his eyes in shock at the suggestion.

"Damn it! We're in trouble! What should we do now? Our guns are in the car! And on top of that, this innocent girl could be in danger if a fight breaks out here!" in a low, worried whisper, DK spoke to Ron.

"DK, you stay here with Maria. I'm coming back in a few minutes. Be careful," Ron said as he started walking quickly toward the exit door, carrying the unknown girl.

Meanwhile, DK nodded in response, unaware of what was going on in his partner's mind.

After arriving at the parking lot, Ron noticed an ambulance parked next to their car, with two EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) already standing nearby, ready with a stretcher to transport the patient.

Without wasting a second, Ron hurried toward the ambulance and placed the girl on the stretcher. Looking straight into their eyes, he spoke in a soft but serious manner, "Please, help me! There are lots of people inside whom we need to save!"

"Yes, Sir," one of them replied. They both then placed the stretcher on the backside of the ambulance with haste and caution. Following that, they closed the door of the ambulance.

On the other side, Ron unlocked the car, took out their guns, and grabbed a bunch of handcuffs. Then the three of them hurried to the nightclub.

Meanwhile, DK waited anxiously for his partner, glancing upstairs. He feared that if the police officers returned downstairs, a conflict would erupt. However, a smile crossed his face in that critical moment when he spotted Ron hurrying toward him with two others coming to their aid.

Ron instructed them in a low voice, "Quickly, put these handcuffs on their hands," as he distributed the restraints. They nodded in response. He then placed the car key in his colleague's right-side jeans pocket and handed him the gun. DK lowered Maria to the ground to tuck the gun into the back pocket of his jeans, before proceeding to handcuff her.

On the other side, Ron and the other two EMTs hurriedly began to handcuff the four unconscious bouncers.

Within a few seconds of handcuffing their hands, DK lifted Maria in a bridal style, while the other two EMTs did the same with the two bouncers. Ron grabbed the collars of the remaining bouncers and said in a low but serious whisper, "Let's go to the car! DK, please proceed with plan B." In response, DK nodded.

Then DK and the two EMTs started to walk as fast as they could towards the parking lot, carrying those criminals in a bridal style. On the other side, Ron did the same by dragging the other two bouncers, holding their collars.

Within a few seconds, they reached the parking lot, and DK spoke to the EMTs in a pleading tone, "Please put them into our car!"

"Yes, sir," the EMTs replied together without questioning anything because they understood the critical nature of the situation. Afterward, DK took the key out of his pocket and unlocked their car.

At first, he placed Maria in the back seat of their car, then signaled the EMTs to place the bouncers beside her. The EMTs nodded and complied.

After that, they were about to return to the nightclub when they noticed Ron approaching, dragging the two bouncers with all his strength. Seeing this, they hurried toward him to assist. Together, they managed to successfully place the criminals into their cars within the next few minutes.

After that, DK once again pleaded with the EMTs in a soft yet serious voice, "Please come with us! Otherwise, the innocent girl, who is the main witness in this case, could be in danger if we go to your hospital now. There might be danger on the way to the hospital, possibly risking all of our lives!"

After hearing his words, the EMTs looked at each other with concern. One of them nervously swallowed and replied, 'Okay, Sir."

"Let's get in the car quickly. Both of you, please follow our car. We're heading to D.S.R Hospital instead of C.N Hospital, where our senior officer is waiting with the backup team," Ron said, and everyone nodded in response.

After that, Ron and DK got into their car, and the EMTs got into the ambulance. Within seconds, both vehicles headed toward their destination.

                                 ***

The C.N hospital was the closest one to the Heaven nightclub, just a 10-minute drive away. Despite this proximity, Ron chose to head to the D.S.R hospital, located directly opposite C.N This decision added an extra 35 minutes to their journey, potentially risking lives of those in need of urgent care. Yet, Ron and Dk were willing to take this risk from the outset, knowing the consequences of heading toward C.N could mean death for all of them.

After arriving at the emergency ward of D.S.R Hospital, everyone exited their cars and noticed fifteen police officers, including two female officers, and three doctors standing near the entrance. Within moments, they approached Ron and DK. Their senior officer, Mr. Samuel Miller, instructed them, "Go to the Orchid Hotel immediately. I'll meet with both of you there later, and we'll discuss our next steps."

"First, we have to treat her; she's badly injured!" Ron said to his senior, his voice filled with worry. Anxiety and an unknown fear were clearly visible in his eyes as he spoke about the girl. Without wasting a second, he ran to the back of the ambulance to help her. DK and the EMTs followed suit.

When Ron opened the ambulance door, everyone widened their eyes in shock: the stretcher was empty. There was no sign of the unknown girl, who was the main witness in the case.

After seeing that, DK exclaimed in a shocked yet confused voice, "What the hell?! Is she made of camphor, or has she already turned into a ghost, vanishing into thin air without our knowledge?"
