I looked at it all.

All that was left, at least.

It was gone... not by fire...

By the cosmic energy that we use.

"Why would anyone do this?" I asked to no one. "Why would Edric do this?"

We had no quarrel.

We hardly knew each other.

He actually seemed... nice.

And yet he goes and does this...

He destroys an entire civilization...

"I can't carry on, can I?"
