The king leaned over the girl, so close she could feel the heat from his ragged breath. "You," he hissed, "Should know how to behave, servant."

She looked up to meet his eyes. In a final act of defiance, she slammed her head into his with a sickening crack.
With the king in a stunned state the servant managed to escape his grasp. Shooting down the stone corridor of the crumbling castle, she barely made it to the window before a guard grabbed the back of her thin clothes. The servant winced as the guard pressed her body down on the window ledge, her neck down against sharp stones, drawing blood. "Think you're cunning, do you?"

Then he deftly swung her over his shoulder, carrying the servant back down the corridor. "No," the king groaned, rubbing his head, "Take her to the dungeon. It'll teach her a lesson."

A few gasps sounded from the other servants as the guard took her away. The servant girl laughed, which earned her a slap to the face. She moved to counter, entirely forgetting her hands were shackled.

The guard chuckled at the feeble attempt to fight back. "You really are stupid, aren't you?"

She grunted defiantly as the guard brought her down a set of stairs. He threw her into the most fortified cell, which still wasn't very good at holding someone. It was still better than the rest of the dungeon though, because the rest of it was still littered with debris from when the roof that had collapsed long ago.

The guard locked the door behind him and began to walk away...
