....I slowly open my eyes...the sun's brightness causing me to squint...I groan and shield my eyes from it's rays as I slowly sit up...I wait for my eyes to adjust and start to look at my surroundings...I'm in a field...a wheat field..But this wheat field didn't seem normal. I stood up to get a better view and noticed the wheat was never ending...there was no trees..no grass...just wheat...it reached to my lower stomach and tickled my sides..instead of feeling afraid or lost I felt....safe..like I was home....I looked up and saw the deep blue sky..barely any clouds...the sun seemed to fill the sky with a mix of orange and yellow..it looked beautiful with the blue...what an odd combination....I started to walk a bit..moving one foot in front the other..careful to not crush too much wheat as I walked...as I walked I felt a soft breeze past by...my hair swayed in it and I couldn't help but smile... "Tommy..." I heard a voice call me. I looked around, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. "Tommy~" I heard the voice again, this time louder. I tried to ask who's there but when I opened my mouth...nothing came out. "Tommy." I heard from behind me. I quickly turn around and see a silhouette, a couple feet away from me. It appeared to have a slim figure and was wearing a long flowy white sundress. She had long brown hair and her dress seemed to danced in the soft breeze. I couldn't see her face so I didn't recognize who it was."It's time to wake up..." Before I could ask her what she meant I felt myself being shook and everything went black.

"Tommy...come on wake up. Wake up. Wake up!" I heard someone say and feel myself being shaken awake. I groan at the sudden movements 'So it was a dream...' I thought feeling a hint of sadness. Who was that lady...and how did she know my name..? My thoughts were interrupted by a pillow to the face. "Tommy wake up already! Ya can't sleep your life away!" A voice spoke in a very strong country accent. I open my eyes a bit and look up to see my cousin...Dallas. He has dark brown messy hair, leafy green eyes, tan skin and a few freckles scattered around his nose. He has a bit of a gap between his front teeth but has a pretty great smile. "Five more minutes..." I mumble and try to go back to sleep. I feel him snatch the sheets off of me, the cold air surrounded me. I try to search for some warmth. "Come on Tommy we got some work to do! We're late!" "Wait what time is it?" I ask opening my eyes again. "6:45! Come on we gotta go!" Dallas said and grabbed me by my arm and pulling me out of bed. My eyes widen, I haven't been this late for work before. Usually we have to be awake by 6:00 and we start work at 6:30. Uncle's gonna be mad... I thought as I quickly change out of my pajamas. They were baggy, dull clothes that were 2 sizes too big for me. But they fit perfectly on Dallas. Mostly because they're his clothes. I usually wear his hand-me-downs since we couldn't afford buying more clothes. After I finish changing Dallas takes me by my hand and we run downstairs.

We raced through the living room and to the kitchen. Auntie was already washing the dishes. She had light grey hair, pale skin, brown eyes. She was wearing a light red shirt, long blue skirt that reached her ankles and a white apron. She turns to us and smiles "Looks like your finally awake Tommy." "Yeah finally!" Dallas said with a grin. "Hehe sorry, I guess I was pretty tired from yesterday's work." I said and scratched my head. "Pfft yesterday was nothin'. Don't ya remember last week when the tractor broke down and we had to drag it all the way back to the barn? I couldn't feel my arms for a week!" Dallas laughed. He was right, that was pretty difficult, but we loved it. We loved getting our hands dirty, especially Dallas. "Well y'all kids better hurry up and eat before Frank comes in here." Auntie warned. "Yes ma'am." Dallas and I nod and quickly sit at the small table. Our chairs creaked when we sat. I reach for the half empty box of cereal but as usual, Dallas beats me to it. "Ya gotta be quicker than that slowpoke!" Dallas teased and quickly poured the cereal into a small bowl. I roll my eyes and take the box, doing the same. Dallas grabbed the glass bottle of milk and emptied it into his cereal. "Auntie he used up all the milk again!" I whined. "Early bird catches the worm..." She said as she set a clean plate to the side. Dallas laughed. "But Tommy's right Dallas. You need to share." She scolded. Dallas' eyes narrowed at me as I stick my tongue out at him. "Do we have anymore Auntie?" I ask picking up the empty bottle. "Sorry Tommy not yet. You'll have to milk the cows. Both of you." "Yes ma'am." We said at the same time and we start to eat. Soon we finish our cereal and put them into the sink. "I'll wash 'em, now get a move on, your late!" Auntie shooed us out the door.

We look around for a second, I feel the cool morning air giving me goosebumps up my arms. The sun was still rising and the sky was filled with orange and pink. I stop staring at the sky and feel Dallas nudge me. He points across the field and I see Uncle in the distance. He has dark grey hair, tan skin, and icey blue eyes. He was wearing his white cowboy hat and had on a plaid red shirt and dark blue jeans with his signature belt buckle and boots. We quickly run to him and I could already tell he was mad. He hears us running and turns, his eyes stopping on me as his frown grew. "Where on heaven's Earth were you Tommy?" He asked, his voice was a mix of worry and anger. "Sorry uncle...I slept in." I said looking down at my feet as I get ready for yet another lecture. I hear him sigh "Tommy, ya can't keep sleeping in like this. What's gotten into you lately?" He asked with his hands on his hips. "I don't know. I've been having some strange dreams...." I told him, remembering the dream I had earlier. "Strange dreams eh? What was it about?" He asked curiously, his voice a bit softer. "I was in a wheat field walkin around when I heard someone call me. I turned and saw a lady. I couldn't see her face though..." I said frowning towards the end. "I'm sorry uncle..." I heard him sigh again. "It's alright son just don't let it happen again. Otherwise I might have to wake you up with a cold bucket of water. " He said jokingly. I smile and Dallas laughed. He tussles my hair "Now come on boys we got some work to do!" "Yes sir!" We say and begin our daily routines. I couldn't help but still wonder about my dream. But who was that lady...?
