Claire looked around and took a deep breath. She considered which to work on first and decided on her portal magic. "I'm pretty decent at it, but I need to get better at it." she thought grimly. She closed her eyes and focused. A golden warmth spread through her and the air warped. She heard vibrations and looked to see a portal had opened.

She swayed, feeling a little weak from opening the portal. "But is opening portals to other worlds all I can do?" she wondered. "Portals are like a hole in space that takes you to worlds, can they also store stuff?," she thought. Claire closed the portal she opened and focused on opening another one. She peeked in and saw a dark abyss and there were millions of rocks floating around in the solar system. The sun was far away from her, but she could still feel it's blazing warmth in the blackness.

At the same time, she felt cold.

There was no sign of life in the place. Claire cast a spell that created a bubble of air.

She stepped in completely and gasped when she suddenly floated. She drifted around and flapped her hands like a bird trying to move. It felt like she was moving through mud-no quicksand! But she managed to move.

She felt the rough texture of the rocks and they looked an unnatural color. It was green and blue. Claire felt weightless and at peace. The winking stars were bright. She closed her eyes and slept for what felt like a few minutes. She woke up with a startled gasp and realized she dozed off. Which was not the right thing to do, with Ragnarok so close!! Her arms were asleep, but she moved them and opened a portal.
