This is more of Elliott and his story.

Takes place I'm either of my books or wherever you want. ;)

A young woman falls in love with a wonderful young soldier. She later gets married and has a boy. Their love for each other continues to grow and they have another child. Years later when she's pregnant with her third, he goes over seas. She keeps him updated and tells him how their oldest son is now 15 and going to school. There daughter is 11 and is excited for the new addition to their family.

Though when she's 6 months into the pregnancy, her beloved husband is killed by the enemy. She goes into denial then into crippling depression. When the baby is born she can't function properly and simply neglects everything.

Her oldest son Garrett realizes he has do something to save the family. He drops out of school and quickly gets a job that will hire him. His sister Robin continues school but also helps care for the baby. Their mother would feed the babe but do nothing else. They tried to reach their grandparents for help, but had little to no success. They claimed she would snap out of it soon. But she didn't. The two named the boy after their grandfather, since he wasn't even given a name.

Four years later their mother is still in the same state. They care for her and try to survive as well. Trying to get help, but no one comes.

Garrett is now 19 and struggling to keep the house and his job. He now works three jobs and hardly sleeps. His old class mates say he should have stayed in school. But he couldn't afford it and take care of everything.

Robin is now 16 and works hard on her schoolwork. Her brother encourages her to stay, despite the fact that she wants to help financially. She cares for her baby brother and tries to explain things to him.

Elliott is now 4 and doesn't know what it's like to have a mother or father. He talks to her, though she never responds. She's basically a vegetable now. He goes to a day care but doesn't understand why.

Situation.

You are walking down the road in the more run down part of town. You suddenly notice a small boy playing in the dirt at the park. He's by himself though and you can see a few gang members watching him occasionally in the distance.
