Welcome to the spookiest month of the year! Here on @Mystery, we love stories that leave our blood curdling and keep us on the edge of our seats. This Halloween, we dare you to scare us with your story based on the following prompt:

PROMPT

This Halloween, you're doing research for your anthropology thesis at a remote village in East Java, Indonesia.

After a few days of living there, you start to feel strange. The sounds of gamelan and fleeting glimpses of a mysterious dancing girl keep you on the edge. Your anxiety grows until, one night, you discover the truth behind these hauntings.

What is it? And how do you stop the terror?

GUIDELINES

The deadline is November 7th.

Your entry should not exceed 1500 words. Anything above the range will be disqualified.

Your entry must be written in English. Mystery must be the primary genre of your story. Secondary genres (e.g. Action / Fanfiction / Romance) are acceptable too.

Your entry must be an original work written for this contest. You may continue your story if you wish, but we will only review what has been submitted to us in the form.

Your entry should be PG-13 and must adhere to Wattpad's Content Guidelines. Mature stories will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER

Publish your entry on your profile, then submit the link to us via this FORM. If your entry is a chapter in a bigger piece of work, link us to the specific chapter. Entries submitted anywhere else will not be accepted.
