Killian came back within an hour. He looked drained, and pissed. Slightly amused by his emotional state, I gracefully stood and pulled his chair back.

"You look beat, why don't you sit down and rest?" I overly cooed as he undid the button of his suit jacket and tossed it onto the back of his chair. He looked up for a short second and rolled his eyes.

"You would suck as a girlfriend, you know, that, right?"

"And here I thought I was pretty convincing..."

"About as convincing as a rattlesnake." He pushed his chair back and sat down with a sigh. I grinned and jumped into his desk. The look he gave me was simply delightful. I always was able to rile him up so easily.

"So what happened?"

"Why do you care?"

"Come on Killian," I fake pouted as I began pouring myself another glass of wine, "You know that you can talk to me. We used to be so close. Shared and told each other everything."

"Close?" He questioned, "Last I remembered you used to do everything in your power to antagonize and annoy me whenever we were around each other."

"Only because you actually seemed to enjoy it."

"Enjoyment was the farthest thing from my mind. I was just putting up with you to please my father. Not to mention, last time I checked it was wrong for a man to hit a woman, if that's what you were. Monster is a much more suitable term for you."

"Oh my," I grinned, giving my head a curt shake "Don't you sure know how to flatter a lady!"

"If only that's what you were." There was a pause, then he shut his computer off and focused on me, "So are you going to tell me the real reason you're here. I'm sure you came to visit Roger, but something tells me there's more to it."

"I could tell you, but I think I'm going to choose option C."

"What happened to option B?"

"Option B is to not tell you and walk out and never return. Clearly that's not my choice."

"And option C?"

"Stay right here with my finely, toned ass plopped on your desk and drink this delicious wine all while not telling you." I smiled, "Perfect choice if you ask me." There it was. That spark in his eyes that always challenged me to push him more. The guy never was good at hiding his emotions from me.

"Are you an alcoholic, Mia?"

"You know, my uncle asked me the same thing. I've concluded that no... I'm not. I just really like wine."

"Sounds like you have a drinking problem."

"And you have a sex problem."

"There's no problem with enjoying a good round of sex, Mia."

"You see, I agree with you there. Sex is so amazing. The feeling of a man as he slams into you with all he has repeatedly...Has me turned on just thinking about it." He watched me closely, his eyes glued to my thumb as I rubbed it across my bottom lip, "But what I don't agree on is how you just jump from one woman to the next within a few days. I could never do that. I've done a 'friends with benefits' thing before and I ended up hating it. I would much rather have a fully committed man that I can come home to every night and have him fuck my brains out."

"And how is that working out for you?"

"Ha, you see, unlike you, I don't constantly need someone between my legs. I'm happy with where I'm at in life."

"If you ask me you're missing out. Just before I arrived here this afternoon I was able to fuck that ginger. Had her screaming my name within minutes. Do you know how pleasurable that was?"

"Don't really care."

"Enough that if you weren't here, I would have her soaking wet, sprawled out on my desk, begging for me to take her...but of course instead I'm stuck with your whiny ass."

"Wow, I can feel the love!" I smiled.

"But I mean," In one solid motion, I was in front of him, his arms on either side of me, his mouth inches away from my ear, "If you find yourself desperately missing the action, I can-"

"I am going to give you two second to back the hell up before I remind you of the differences between you and me." I had his tie tightened enough around his neck to cause strain. He looked at me with clouded eyes and then pushed himself back. I took a deep breath to help calm down the racing beat of my heart as he fixed his tie.

"I don't really see how that was necessary."

"Sorry, I'm just not really in the mood to catch anything."

"I'm clean, Mia."

"Tell me that all you want; You still aren't going to get me in bed with you...quite frankly nothing will...you're not my type anyways."

"What woman doesn't want a man who is rich, has a body like a god, and a dick to match?"

"Really...a dick to match...please tell me what woman actually enjoys your cockiness?" I said in disgust.

"Quite a lot of them actually."

"Well you see, I prefer men who aren't cocky, snot-nosed brats."

"And what kind man goes for you? The desperate?"

"I don't know, why don't you go look in the mirror and tell me?" He paused as he realized what I meant. Killian laughed and sat back down in his chair.

"I was just being the polite man that I am, cause you seem like you desperately need to be dicked down. As for me, all I need to do is make a phone call and I'll have someone wet and waiting."

"Are you not worried about getting anything from all these women?"

"It's called condoms."

"And when they suck your god-like dick?" I asked using finger quotes at the end.

"Don't believe me? Would you like proof?"

"Well that depends," I laughed knowing that my next statement would get under his skin just a little bit, "Would you like me to call my uncle and tell him how you not only made sexual advances towards his only niece, but how you also whipped it out for no apparent reason. I'm sure that I can do a conference call and add your father too. What do you think they would say towards your actions, Killian?"

"What I think is that you wouldn't know what to do with it anyways. I'd whip it out and you'd probably run away scared." And there it was. His tone of voice was a dead give away. He was getting annoyed now.

"Oh, is that what you think?"

"I get it. Being inexperienced in such things can be quite scary." He moved in closer, trying to push his size onto me.

Smirking, I waited till just the right second, grabbed his tie, pulled him close, and wrapped my legs around his own so he was unable to move. "Let's be honest with ourselves," I whispered huskily, as I began walking my fingers down his chest, pushing myself closer to him, "You've had your fair share of women beneath you, but we both know that I would be way too much for you. You couldn't handle me even if you tried. Calling me inexperienced, seems as if you're just pushing your fear for what would happen if you did manage to somehow convince me to let you in. You like control, Killian, and we both know that you'll lose all that control with me."

"Are you done?" He asked. Lust flashed in his eyes, but there was also a good amount of annoyance still floating around.

I smiled softly, and began rubbing my legs along the back of his own, "How about we test my thoughts, hmm? Let's see if it's that I'm just too inexperienced, or if it's just that you're too scared. I'll even be nice and not bring them into this. It will be our little secret."

Something dark flashed in his eyes, and for a second I thought I had him. Then that look disappeared before I could push him the last inch, and he pulled away sharply, "I have a private meeting here soon. While you may know me, you are not in a position that would allow you to be here. So I need you to leave."

"I'm pretty sure my position in my job puts me above all of you. Therefore, I can be here all I like."

"You've had your fun. Just leave and go back to your hotel."

"Oh my...I thought your father would have said something already. He must have forgotten. He is a busy man..." I smiled mischievously.

"Said something about what?"

"Well, you see Lucian didn't think it would be right for me to stay in a hotel while I was visiting, especially when I'm like family...so he had your guest room redone for me." The folder in his hand went flying. He looked up with anger in his eyes. I didn't say anything else, it was too entertaining to see the loss of control finally click into place. Score one for Mia!

The silence grew as the clock ticked. I waited patiently, my gaze locked with his as he concentrated on his breathing. I was ready to break the ice when the door opened and a man walked in. He saw us both and looked away quickly.

"Didn't realize you were umm...busy, Killian. I can come back later."

"With her..." he scoffed, "I wouldn't be caught dead screwing her."

"And here I thought that was exactly where this was heading," I feigned hurt, "You really gotta stop giving me these mixed signals, Killian. It can cause wrinkles."

"Why are you still here?"

"I mean, I did tell you that I wasn't going to leave, despite you telling me to."

"I swear to God..."

"What are you going to do, Killian? Hit me? Are you really going to stoop so low that you would hit a woman?"

"Mia, I swear...you-"

"Nice to meet you," the man from the door walked over and held out his hand with a gentle smile, "The name is Marcus, but you can call me Marc, I'm a friend of Killian's."

"Mia Renée." I smiled as I took him all in.

He seemed pretty nice, both in personality and looks. He was tall like Killian but built with a slightly slimmer frame. Unlike the control freak, his hair was long, resting against the collar of his black suit, his luscious locks golden from the rays of the sun. His dark green eyes were filled with mischief and a flirtatious spark. When the light would catch his gaze just right, the emerald color would ignite and shine as of it were the actual stone.

If I was a normal girl, I would be drooling, but I did have a tiny bit of self-discipline.

When I brought my gaze back to his, a grin broke from his lips. "Enjoying the view, darling?"

Killian stilled behind him. I darted my gaze from one to the other and then ran my fingers through the ends of my hair.

"Maybe," I shrugged, "What if I am?"

"Then I would have to say you and I are both in the same situation...those jeans look rather nice on you," He slid closer, his cologne flooding my senses, "Of course I'm sure they would look better on the floor."

Well...this man has some balls on him...

"Are you like this with all the ladies?"

"Only the ones I want."

"I feel so special."

"You should." He whispered, his voice deeper and rougher then it was before. I was about to speak again when Killian finally joined in on the conversation.

"Not that I want to interrupt you two love birds, but Marc, you and I have a meeting, and you Mia," he said with his finger pointed in my direction, "You need to leave. Now."

"Come on, Killian," Marc moved closer to me, "Let the girl stay, she's not doing any harm."

"Don't fall for the act. She's not as innocent as she pretends."

"And how do you know that?"

"Because I grew up with her."

"Why are you saying it like it was a bad thing?" I scoffed, "I was the shining, bright, white light in the darkness. You and I both know you're more then grateful you were blessed to grow up alongside someone like me."

"How about dinner tonight?" Marc asked, ignoring the words being thrown between his friend and I.

"She can't." We turned towards Killian waiting for more of an explanation, but in the moment he seemed to be more interested in his computer than us.

"Didn't realize you were her boss." he asked in a challenging way.

"I'm not. She can't eat with you because she has dinner plans with me."

"I do?"

"Yes."

"Since when?"

"Since you informed me that you were moved into my condo. You live with me; you eat with me. You don't like it, then leave."

"I could always just move in with him." I said plainly as I nodded in his direction. Marc smiled and rubbed his chin.

"I wouldn't mind having a woman in the house..."

"Are we going to start this meeting or not, Marc?" Killian's gaze remained on his computer but his tone said it all. The conversation was over, and his decision was final. "I do have a business to run."

"Of course," he laughed as he dropped down into the chairs, "You need to learn to lighten up a little Killian, we were both just having a little fun."

The look in Killian's eyes was anything but amusement. I wanted to tease him for it but decided against it and instead made myself comfortable on the couch. I guess I could be nice this once and let him focus on his meeting.
