Full disclosure time: I wrote this with a very loose understanding of what Super Mario Odyssey's post-game entailed in terms of finding Peach in certain places. But I also wanted to make sense of what happened exactly in the ending cutscene of the main game and how Mario and Peach's relationship is from that point onward. I mean, we know for sure that they're still on good terms, but did I know that 2 days after release? Of course not. That's why I wrote this.
