The old man threw open the door in a flash,
The old wooden door flew against the wall with a crash.

"I know you're in there, ghosties!" He accused, smiling ear to ear.
I've dealt with your kind, at Christmas, every year!

I'm terribly afraid to tell you it would be a lie to say I feel sorrow,
But Lavender Town's tower gets demoed tomorrow.

The man sat down in his old creaky chair,
Pulling off the hat that covered his hair.

When out of the wall came Gengar, Haunter and Ghastly.
The three ghosts, of Christmas future, present and past(ly).

The ghosts were confused, bamboozled I'd say.
They had to save the Tower and save Christmas Day!

Haunter came forward first,
Looking ready to burst.

"We'll fill him with fright,
We'll scare him all night!"

"Look at him, he's cool as ice!
The man will never be convinced to switch from naughty to nice!"

"Maybe we can turn this enemy to a friend,
Then this nightmare can finally end!"

The ghosts floated to the man,
Reaching with their cold limbs, they grabbed him hand in hand.

"We will show you just how cool Christmas can be!
Especially with ghosts as cool as these three!"

They bummed and they chummed late into the night,
A miser and three ghosts, friends!
What a spectacular sight!

They played pool and played in the pool,
They bowled and they rolled,
They broke every rule!

By all facts, empirical,
It was looking to be a true Christmas miracle!

The man grew tired so the ghosts had to ask
Was this night truly real or just a fake mask?

The man sighed and turned away,
speaking lower than low, I say,

"When you put money over each other, you lose something important. But my jacuzzi is worth losing those things. The tower gets torn down tomorrow morning."

Ghastly and Haunter wailed in sorrow,
But Gengar enveloped the man in one giant swallow.

With one gargantuan bite,
Gengar saved the night!

"How does it feel inside my belly?
I've heard from my friends that it's awfully smelly!"

Then the man realized the lesson he missed
Never try to ruin a hungry gengar's Christmas!
