School was out, and I had run the last few steps to end practise. It must have been five or five thirty, but I still had a ten minute journey home.
"Bye, Hubble." I said to the coach, turning around before he answered, and lifting a hand to acknowledge another runner.
The hallway was cool, which was a relief, considering the long, hard run that had started in the heat of the day. But as I neared the double door exit, I realized the sky had darkened.
"Son of a mother." I muttered to myself, remembering the doom and gloom that had been forecasted. I considered calling my mom, hoping to get a ride and not have to walk in this, but then I shrugged. A little rain wouldn't kill me. I stepped outside, feeling the first drops of what would be a downpour fall on my nose. I wiped it off, shrugging to adjust my backpack, and turned down the dead end road, walking to the path that would lead me home.
As I walked the path, the rain picked up in intensity, the trees rustling with displeasure as the rain pelted through them. I was walking through it, already mostly soaked, hopping the rain  wouldn't soak through my backpack and ruin my homework or my textbooks.
"Good god." I said as the rain still increased in intensity.
There was a crack, and I looked down. There was a piece of hail, pea sized, perfectly round. I lamented the fact that I was barely on the sidewalk that would lead me home, and looked up at the sky just a s another piece hit my arte.
"You have got to be-" I ended that sentence with a curse as I was hit again. I began running, picking up speed as I heard heavier balls of ice slamming into the ground behind me. Cursing all the way, it was a race between the cloud and I. I rounded the last corner, realizing that I wouldn't be able to escape the cloud now that I was on a perpendicular course with it.
"Son of a- Oww!" I yelled as a piece of hail smacked me on the forehead. I managed to make it under the shadow of the roof extension over the front door before I was hit again. I looked back as hail and rain pounded down.
I burst out laughing as the storm picked up in intensity, to happy to have escaped the massive hail that was falling to contain it. I turned to the door, opening it, and walking in, leaving the storm behind me.

Wtf am I doing with my life?
